  1. Showed the wife the eBay sold listings for this and the giveaway train set she built with the kids during Christmastime last year...She says she's never building anything ever again. She is in disbelief.

  2. Futhermore, no stores should price match clearance (it's against their policies) for obvious reasons - This is considered an unethical thing to attempt and is highly frowned upon in the Brickpicker community. The person in the Facebook group is sleazy, and worse for bragging about it.

  4. After the unfortunate recent events in Texas and Louisiana with Hurricane Harvey, I just want to let Brickpickers who live in Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina know that we are thinking about them. I know our thoughts mean very little in the grand scheme of things, but get the Hell out of danger. You can always replace a LEGO set or TV...You cannot replace yourself. I am praying for you. Be safe and let that witch go out to sea... Ed and Jeff.

  9. As someone who lives just about dead center on Irma's path, just going to say it's been fun guys. I can't really leave the state so I'm just going to hunker down as best I can. Hopefully I can return with as much good news as soon as possible. All of us here are just hoping for bad instead of catastrophic. This is probably the most scared I've ever been living in Florida 17 years. Stay safe everyone especially since I know that there are other BPers in the TB/west coast area.

  12. $38 dollars for the pieces. Hell I have most of the odd colored pieces in one $20 set. Some of you know which set already! . Nothing special at all. Only a fool would buy at this price. But the world is full of them!!

  17. Lines at gas stations, water at the stores gone, Home Depot? Isle with plywood and other boards is empty, people sitting on carts waiting for delivery. Oh boy, I chose "perfect" time to move to Florida from a cushy IL. I've been here 3 months, fortunately I'm staying in 2 story concrete townhome. Got water, food, outside is my pick up truck that I'm hoping won't get destroyed. All my Lego sets were brought today from storage to the house, tomorrow I'll take them upstairs. Im a reseller scum but if I get stuck upstairs, no power, flooded first floor....I'll be doing a lot of Lego building...

  18. Let's be honest, when you've got: You have Chima sets still on the shelf, that have been retired for 2+ years, and they're still marked above RRP, You don't automatically PM your website (and PM'ing negates coupons and other discounts), You jack up the prices above RRP so that your sales aren't really sales, You have so many exclusions on your coupons, that you need a magnifying glass to read them, Your jacked up prices cause people to just go to the other big box store (Target, Walmart) that sells LEGO in the same shopping center ...you're gonna have trouble staying in business.

  19. Thanks for creating a feed! Many of my loved ones are in the NC,SC, and FL area. A few tips if you live in the many expected flood zones. Your dishwasher is like a "flood safe". You can save things you have to leave behind like pictures, small safes, sentimental items, and of course important documents etc. It is waterproof and secure. Also if you are expecting a power outage (which I would) and are staying, your washing machine makes a great fridge. Fill with bottled water, drinks (whatever you need refrigerated.) top with ice. Keep the lid closed. Should keep you good for a couple of days and the water simply runs out.

  20. Agree. I would list any sets right now, in the middle of this bizarre Gingerbread-fest.

  23. I'm not mad at this set. I bought three, all at MSRP and directly from Lego SAH. I got some kind of freebie with each, but I can't remember what exactly. I sold two for $260 each, and each during an eBay promo where I only paid $5 in fees. After paypal and shipping I probably cleared about $60-70 total profit. Definitely nothing to get excited about but It means that the cost of my personal copy (that I really look forward to building some day) was about $140 before factoring in the VIP points and freebies I earned, and that's okay with me. #notgreedy

  25. Seems no one is interested in the used ones. I wonder who will start buying the expensive ones still on the market expecting them to double in price within a week? Guessing that the end game of the buyer is to unload them ay 80-100 USD undercutting the few sets that are still listed and then gradually upping the price but you need buyers for that too. One final point - you needed to spend 65 euros to get this set and it´s worth looking at how the items bought to get it are performing. If someone bought a 10188 Death Star or Red 5 at fulll whack, they´ll be losing money hand over fist on the whole deal.

  29. Some of the Gingerbread Houses will probably be returned (and then hopefully you can sell it for even more). Some uninformed buyers think that big price means big set.

  31. I don't think the 75192 will ever be considered iconic. Largest doesn't mean special or best...just largest. There will be very little emotional connection with this set in comparison to the 10179 IMO. Mark my words on this date...Once the 10179 hits rock bottom, it will appreciate (% wise) better than the 75192.
