LEGO could have taken care of all of this nonsense with a "First Edition" set. The first 10,000 (or whatever) made would have special markings and would sell worldwide...in store and online. VIP cards and mystery sets and other BS giveaways that some get and others don't are a waste of time. If they really were smart, they would have made this first run of sets uber desirable. The buzz would have been tremendous. Many will now wait for deals...and they will come...trust me. After the initial contrived shortages to stir up interest on LEGO forums, there will be plenty to be had by everyone.6 points

Found a TMNT Lair for $10 at WM. Box beat to hell. All was there and my 4 yo was ecstatic.6 points

These models were shipped assembled/glued from LEGO to all LBR stores in the US for display. Either your store is extremely unlucky or your store's manager is a dumbass and misread the instructions from corporate and is still hiding it in the back.5 points

It's amazing how many ideas come out for what could have been done with this set. It's great that they added all this detail, but yes, they should have taken it that extra step and invested in the box, lighting, who knows maybe some motorized features. Stuff that dreams are made of. Yes I love it, but for $800, it could have still been better. Maybe in 10 years.3 points

14 sets to be exact..... I drive between Monterrey and San antonio quite often.... I just adjusted work to get there on Thursday night ( had to pick the Saturn that day) , and be early Friday in the store for Force Day..... I took the family and had a good time in the Store friday..... they had Star Wars characters.... A Scarif Stormtrooper and an astromech , a black one, I do not know the name of it.... really cool...2 points

Ed?... cause when you are at the bar and conveniently mistake your Star Wars VIP black card for your Metal American Express card .. and go "OopS!" you'll have unleashed the biggest Chick magnet Ever and They Will Bow and a round of applause and looks of Envy...... ??Naww you're right ...probably get a wedgie instead.... ???2 points

What's a "Special Edition" VIP card worth? Nothing, because it will have you name on it. LOL.2 points

My Lego store handed me those "exclusive" posters with purchase for just staring at the display. Rep came up to me and was like do you want yesterday and today's poster so you can go home and stare.... LOL.... rude2 points

Finally got ahold of my most wanted set, now I can get to work on my Halloween display with HH, VC, all Scooby sets, and the Simpsons house going to make a cul du sac with them full of trick or treaters (every minifig I have that looks like a costume) PS: if you need two Chima clocks still in box, I've got a deal for you.2 points

As George once said. "I'm going down with the ship." I bought a very nice used 1st edition 10179 a few years ago for $2500 because I had to have it. I'll wait to buy the 75192 at a discount or 2x VIP. When bought it will look great next to the 10179 whenever I get around to building either of them.1 point

First time post here! There were about 6 of these at the Mission Viejo Lego store in SoCal. Went to get a Slave 1 and saw them... had to grab one! Had my pick of the litter1 point

In the last 5 years or so, I honestly cant remember buying anything from the Lego Store without some sort of discount, double VIP points, and/or free gift. I really don't want to start now, especially with the most expensive set ever. After seeing the set displayed in store this morning some of the mystique of all this hype has worn off for me. Unless there's something special for launch-day or they make the first run numbered or similar, I may just wait out until the discounts/deals become available. Right now I have a long list of sets to purchase and a backlog of sets to built. I haven't even picked up the Snowspeeder yet! But.....I really do want this set. Even my wife wants me to buy it for "our collection". I've come close on two separate occasions to picking up a 10179 recently.1 point

I like hearing it will be triple boxed when shipped. A promo would have been nice to sell and soften the blow on price.1 point

The metal American Express card is pretty awesome. Weighs a pound or so...LOL1 point

Got rid all 5-6 of mine and lost about $10-$15 each on investment. Better off lose some now and use the cash flow to invest in other better potential sets. This ToO set is finished. Not even worth the time waiting for it for go up $20 in a few years.1 point

Came across this and was wondering when we'll be getting a UCS Ferrari F1 car. Or perhaps one on the same scale as the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Although my wife already says my LEGO are taking up too much space if I had this I'd willingly park it outside. Anyone else? http://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/a28013/this-life-size-ferrari-formula-one-car-is-made-of-350000-lego-bricks/ LEGO Speed Champions - Scuderia Ferrari SF16-H 75879 BTW, on the popular mechanic's page, there is a similar life-sized build for the McLaren 720S.1 point

Have to say the little r2d2 set 30611 was really satisfying to build. never built the one I got for May 4th, but decided to build this one. I know it's small but I was really inlressed, clever design and really fun.1 point

Not sure about the TIE Fighter 75095 or the Assault on Hoth 75098 but the Slave I 75060 is most likely due to retire this year and probably the TIE 75095 will as well but who really knows what TLG will do. This is really all based on past retired sets.1 point

Well, I'd like to believe the official Lego statement about Saturn V to have continued production well into 2018. But... Just to be certain I won't open and build the one box I'm about to receive until it's more available for regular ordering again in LEGO Shop at Home.1 point

"Missing sticker" "lost manual" "few pieces fell off" (let me guess, the expensive ones) "missing two figs" ..... this thing screams BrickLinked, no matter that they claim "authentic bought in the store".1 point

The last one lasted 4 years with zero movies to support it. I think this one continues on. There will always be a $100ish falcon on the market, be silly not to have one. Timmy will see the UCS in the window of the Lego store and settle for the 75105 which will seem huge once it's home. Mom & Dad will be shocked by the $800 price of the UCS and then be happy to pay $150 for the alternative. Everyone wins.1 point
