Finally built the 10244 Fairground Mixer and to celebrate it's Grand Opening it was Star Wars Day! The lines were long: Chewbecca was playing a game,: Emperor Palpatine was in a good mood waiting for his turn in the dunk tank: Father and son were enjoying an ice cream: The tall man was there: And with a temporary peace across the galaxy fun was had by all. I did not know how to embed the video: MOV00048.MPG5 points

News from my local Legostore: They recieved their copy of the Millennium Falcon for display on Force Friday and are currently building it. They will also accept reservations for it after September 11th, once they know how many they're getting in stock.2 points

Keep it, but remember when you have to pay a little extra for shipping on something else, let it slide. The universe will balance everything out.2 points

I would just like to know how old everyone here on Brickpicker is plus what gender. Just wondering if there are a bunch of youngish men/women or oldish men/women. Thanks. PS: If you aren't comfortable giving your age, I am not pressuring you.1 point

Sorry to disagree...But one solid brick in comparison to multiple smaller overlapping bricks to equal the same cubic space should be stronger. If LEGO used maximum sized bricks in their designs (with some overlap), the set will be stronger. Every LEGO set design needs to be overlapped, but they needlessly jack up the piece counts with 1 x 2s and 1 x 1s and other smaller bricks.1 point

I look occasionally on CL as well to see if there are any deals or opportunities to resell. I don't usually have any luck but this time I got lucky and scored. If these were any other of the lower selling packs I wouldn't have bought them. You can't go wrong with BTTF and JW. These two were great sellers for me. 8k is awesome! I bet you are very happy with the profit that you've made. I'm sure I have a least cleared 1k in profit since February but I need to calculate everything. I'm completely sold out of packs besides these 24 I just purchased. The gold rush on these packs were a great time and I enjoyed every minute of buying and selling these. I'm sure this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I'm glad that I was able to take part of it.1 point

I still find myself buying specific packs on the cheap for resale or to fulfill certain bundles/sets. About 8k in sales on the packs I purchased back in Feb...mostly level and team packs with enough fun packs to fulfill sets. Every dime reinvested for the most part. Have about 200 left.1 point

I'm no expert, but just sharing a recent similar experience... I was trying to sell a Sandcrawler about a month ago. The main listing was restricted (... or had it been temporarily disabled?... I can't recall). Anyway, sent mine in under the (open) secondary listing. About 3 weeks later, Amazon shut down that listing, and put my Sandcrawler in "unfillable" inventory. I had to recall it from their warehouse... got it back, a couple weeks later, a bit more dented up than I had sent it.1 point

Having only started spinning sweeps within the last 8 days or so.... I'm running 2 accounts. One is up $39 and the other $33. But I play the extra as well as winit and bonuses. Wish I knew about this long ago. Just won $5 as well.1 point

The last word always lays to Disney not to Lego. There is a very interesting material on yt about how Star Wars sets are made and who is pulling the strings. Lego has to say next to nothing about the final product design, packaging and promotion.1 point

That is correct, even my kids and I had helped to build the sets they display in the store......1 point

Works on most technic sets as well 42053(Volvo EW160E), 42054 (Claas Xerxion), 42070 (6x6 All Terrain Tow Truck), were ones I was able to get the discount applied to1 point

If the discrepancy isn't that much, you can chalk up the difference to "packing materials". The buyer won't know if you don't print the label with the pricing on it.1 point

A few years back they had promos of episodes 1 through 6 then last year they did the force awakens poster. Still need Rogue One to complete the collection.1 point

confirmed, posted the flyer at SAH offers. You get a poster as well, however it does say UP TO 20% off so the Tie may only be 10%.1 point

Poor photo quality but here are some recent builds: My wife built the brickheadz and supervised, by leaving me alone, the other builds. I am indifferent towards the brick bank and it seems like a miss to me. The white exterior doesn't go with any of the other modulars (use rustic or tan to show age) and it's far too short for a corner building which forces me to break open a second set to compensate. I understand the trend of smaller and more detailed but this took it too far. The mismatched exterior color is a poor choice as well because it forces you to buy other sets to hide it and the laundromat is a throwaway section. There are some nice design characteristics but it's a general miss. The GBHQ was built from a used set with all of the pieces sorted by color. This took forever to build but I really liked all of the references to the movie and I really enjoyed seeing it come together. This is a well designed set particularly with how it opens up to show the interior and the back wall is easy enough to hide. I don't expect this set to have huge value for resale after retirement but it's a solid piece.1 point

Stumbled upon a Jurassic World Raptor Rampage 75917 at a local Toys R Us. It seemed out of place since the series has been off the shelves for months. Scanned the thing and it came up at $0.03. Shocking deal.1 point

I applied for a job at Sam's Club late last night, and got an interview and the job the very same morning shortly after I woke up today. I'm only 19 and an off and on college student who's been unemployed most of the past year so this is a big deal for me.1 point

Dimensions w/ actual weight < Dimensions w/ DIM weight < FedEx Quote Right or wrong eBay was still cheaper when I put in the dimension weight. I did not carry the FedEx quote to completion so it may have worked out to be close, but the estimate was $20 difference. I'll keep an eye on it and report back.1 point

Created this from a 16"x20" front-loading shadow box and white foam core from Hobby Lobby and bricks ordered from LEGO Bricks & Pieces. Cragled 48 1x2 plates to foam and clicked on other bricks to build Minifig stands that can be modified for a variety of figs and accessories. Since it is front-loading, figs can be easily swapped out.1 point

A home town arcade opened up near us a few months ago. Our first visit tonight and it's awesome. $10 for adults and $5 for kids, free play from 6pm to midnight. The machines are loaded with credits.1 point

My girlfriend travels through that airport a lot and she gets me three each time. She doesn't fully understand why I would pay so much for such a small set. When they are not available anymore I think they will easily sell for 150.1 point
