  1. There are also some rumors that the bricks are 2.56 times bigger... I assume these should reflect it....

  2. This popped up on CL for $100 so I picked it up. Not a steal by any means but a cool set to have. May be good trade bait at some point. He had the 50 years of trains for $150 but I passed on that for now.

  3. Created this from a 16"x20" front-loading shadow box and white foam core from Hobby Lobby and bricks ordered from LEGO Bricks & Pieces. Cragled 48 1x2 plates to foam and clicked on other bricks to build Minifig stands that can be modified for a variety of figs and accessories. Since it is front-loading, figs can be easily swapped out.

  5. The Architecture Sydney Opera House I found a few months ago was pretty good, but I think this might have it beat for my relic of the year find.

  6. 21022 Lincoln Memorial for $55 via BL. Buy-in was $25. Last of the Lincoln Memorials for me. I should've hoarded more than three of these.

  7. I think this is a deal site more geared toward women/mothers. My wife was familiar with it, even had an account. She says they're legit, but her judgement is forever suspect since she married me.

  11. Before the end of the day no doubt someone will have x-rayed/photoshopped the manual in the latest tweet and there will an outline of the Falcon.

  12. That's a tough question. Scar is the most evil in my book. Killed his brother and framed his nephew all for the sake of power. Pure evil. But my favorite? Jafar. He almost hooked up with Jasmine and that puts him up there with all the great villains.

  17. My job gave out a candy dispenser for everyone. I didn't like the candy but the dispenser looked nice enough. I built a cherry blossom tree inside.

  19. It all started with one of our fish having babies. We separated them in a breeding tank for a couple of days. But that was not enough....my wife and sons teamed up on me and begged for a bigger tank. Next thing I knew...we had decided to not only get a bigger tank, but also decided exactly how we wanted to decorate it. We love our Lego displays, and this was just another creative way to add to the collection. What the hell...right?!! Great build! Very fragile! Great display piece!

  20. And, I do consider myself to have gotten lucky. I stumbled across these sets at my local Legoland Discovery Center, where they have a lego store, but follow their own rules. Pretty much, the one-and-only-one rule, out the window. I was able to buy several of these copies, and with a membership discount, got some at 10% off. Also, I was able to get 3 copies at 20% off using their after 5 purchases of $25 or more get the next purchase at 20% bargain. So, yes, I bought in under retail value, so I'm cashing out and making quick cash. And I'm not complaining one bit.

  24. I did that today. They had 1 on the shelf in mint condition and I had $160 in rewards to use up before they stop letting me get Lego.

  25. We switched to a Westjet Mastercard a while back. Tired of the direction that Air Miles was going (cash vs travel) and their flight options were absolute garbage or totally non-existent for where we've traveled over last few years.

  27. Screenshot from twitter link! They're really milking this. What next. The number of bags or inner boxes? So a manual of just under 500 pages. Original was about 315 pages. So doesn't look like a remake. Maybe the interior is being included.

  28. That's a rumor I've heard before. So maybe there's some truth to it. I think we'll have an answer on Thursday morning. I suspect that's when the news will drop.

  29. The first time my kid saw someone smoking on TV, I got the question, "What's that?" and it took me a minute to figure out what he was talking about. Caught Dumbo on TV the other night, there's another that's not real PC. I was going to say Jafar and Iago as my favorite pair, but Ursula was probably the most scary animated to me, and Prince John from Robin Hood was always good for a laugh.

  30. I only use heavy duty boxes these days. They're better because the double wall provides enough protection that you don't need to put packing material around the sets...the box itself provides all the protection that you need 99.9% of the time. That lets you pack more into each box.

  33. And that's called "scalping." Have some decency and let the people who really want it get it. There will be plenty of time to pick some up later for investment purposes when they're more widely available.

  36. Finally got around to starting this last night. Did bags 1&2, no stickers yet, KAI and KONRAD figs with his fishing boat. A couple of elements in new colors to me they may be in some mixels or friends sets that I haven't built and one new element that is covered. Took me longer then expected because I had to line up all the imprints on the translucent light blue elements but looks nice. Plan on bags 3& 4 tonight.

  38. Going to start this one tonight. Seal codes 23R7. It has 2 white boxes inside one with bags 1-4 multiples of each I will inventory them later for reference. Box 2 has bags 5-8 and bags 9-16 were loose in the bottom of the set box. Three instruction manuals sealed in a plastic bag without cardboard, 1 for each floor, I like how they highlighted the floor in color on the corresponding manual. They are similar to ideas manuals and have information on the designers, set, minifigs and history of Ninjago. Two sticker sheets, one unnumbered bag with various larger elements and one 32x32 dark grey base plate.
