  1. My trunk on vacation. Time to do some shipping...my apologies to those in Hesperia and Santa Ana, CA. I invaded!!!
  2. My thoughts exactly! Side note...ironically I did sell another Steamroller this morning. $52 shipped on eBay. First one I've sold in about two months. Down to 37.
  3. Finishing up a friend from work!
  4. 70902 Catwoman Catcycle Chase x 31 at $5 each (75% off). 70903 The Riddler Riddle Racer x 13 at $13 each (57% off). One of my local Walmart's is going through a remodel. These two sets were already marked down to $10 and $20 respectively, and they had a lot on hand. I know the manager pretty well, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask for a little more off if I took them all. It was the perfect storm of scoring a mega deal. Total purchase came out to 68% off.

    Figuratively, not literally
  6. I didn't know Taby could speak so positively about a set. I think there's a glitch in the Matrix.
  7. Brunojj1 Mercedes-Benz AMG C63 DTM - manual chassis. Great build!
  8. Used @exciter1's time machine to get an Arctic Base for 50% off at Target.
  9. Going to start this one tonight. Seal codes 23R7. It has 2 white boxes inside one with bags 1-4 multiples of each I will inventory them later for reference. Box 2 has bags 5-8 and bags 9-16 were loose in the bottom of the set box. Three instruction manuals sealed in a plastic bag without cardboard, 1 for each floor, I like how they highlighted the floor in color on the corresponding manual. They are similar to ideas manuals and have information on the designers, set, minifigs and history of Ninjago. Two sticker sheets, one unnumbered bag with various larger elements and one 32x32 dark grey base plate.
  10. Emazers is making sure he has at least 20 Beatles Subs, This set to me will always be popular as the years go by. Even though Lego says Sold Out that does not mean they will never get anymore in, we have seen that plenty times before. I figure they will loose the License at the end of the year, but you never no.
  11. nobody mentioned this i think but SAH is sold out of piggy banks....
  12. LEGO is not learning anything - They just don't get it. How this could be true, I do not know - but it is. By the way, it's likely too late for them to learn, and undo the damage they have done - they have squandered an amazing status that most companies wouldn't even dream of having.

Surprisingly I'm caught up. I'm in the "I'm waiting for these to go on discount like the carnival sets" this time around.

I think I'm officially at the I can't keep up point.
  15. Good for bundling with steamrollers.
  16. UCS Batmobile 7784 off of Cl for $50. Score!
  17. It all started with one of our fish having babies. We separated them in a breeding tank for a couple of days. But that was not enough....my wife and sons teamed up on me and begged for a bigger tank. Next thing I knew...we had decided to not only get a bigger tank, but also decided exactly how we wanted to decorate it. We love our Lego displays, and this was just another creative way to add to the collection. What the hell...right?!! Great build! Very fragile! Great display piece!

Spent most of Monday sorting. Was thrilled to learn everything is Old Grey! Spent most of last night building! (some "building" paraphernalia has been redacted for the children...) Holy x32 Greebling Batman! Scored for $240 CAD all in, sold erroneously as a 6211. Should I file a SNAD?? ?

Too bad, maybe the pillow fight accessories will come out in a future pack.
  20. Went with the 8293 Kit with battery box and M motor works nice. Thanks to all for the input. IMG_5318.mov
  21. a huge mf is welcomed with opened arms just like the 75259 was until it was revealed to be basically a clone of it's predecessor. thus it appears many folks want a 75192 ucs millennium falcon that isn't another 10199 Toy Shop or 10188 DS-like design rehash. let's hope lego learned a lesson with the sets above and will make 75192's overall design somewhat original.

Rapunzel's Best Day Ever - $7.50 Hot Dog Van - $9.38 These were already 50% off at Meijer and qualified for the additional 25% off clearance.
  23. Last Christmas, I had no trouble selling the Snowglobes locally for $30-$40 on kijiji. I'm sure the same would apply this year.
  24. The next Barnes & Noble sale should provide a decent opportunity to grab some more of these. My two stores are heavily stocked, and nobody buys lego from there. I'm assuming others share the same experience? I think I've only got 4-5 of these. My goal is 12-20.
  25. Ideas The Beatles Yellow Submarine - SOLD OUT at US shop at home.

@hockeyweasel thanks for the insight I appreciate it. Was looking to get over the $99 hump on S&H to stack the piggy bank and ornament promo's. Sounds like they both have pros and cons. Might just end up going for the AA.
  27. pros and cons for each that I can think of. Thinking pros: helicopter only available from LEGO and TRU. Flagship set of the subtheme. Won't be repeated for a while. cons: City subthemes are quickly forgotten. I wouldn't expect a huge AFOL following that is looking to complete the theme or add more of these in the future. Maybe a slight bump over RRP after it's gone. Pros for AA: only available from LEGO and TRU (?). One of the flagship sets of the theme. Arguably better than the regular AA from a few years back. TLBM theme won't be repeated when this is done. Cons: Once it's gone, it'll be forgotten, too. Could follow same valuation path as the Lego movie sets. TLBM sets might not appeal to AFOL DC/Batman collectors. Better representation of the villains are in other sets, since these are just heads on a jumpsuit. Might just be me, but it seems like superhero sets are in a slump, so made-to-be-funny superhero versions might not do any better. Neither of these is on my radar at 20% off.
  28. You must be using one of those tall bed frames
  29. The double freebie is very tempting. I try to hold off on my purchasing until October in anticipation of 2X VIP points plus the first Christmas freebie. Wish I had some idea what that first freebie might be this year. The snowglobe is no GBH, but IMO it's a very nice set.

And possibly the ostriches from the eagles.
  31. I agree with you. I think LEGO already has changed the way they sell sets. If it sells, it stays...If not...it goes. But at $800, I really don't think LEGO really cares one way or the other if this set sells. It's a "Statement Set." It's the biggest and best and makes for an awesome display piece at stores. With all these new movies with the Falcon in it, it's going nowhere soon in my opinion.
  32. First picture of the 40261 - Thanksgiving Seasonal set has surfaced: Found on Bouwsteentjes.info.
  33. I would go for slow flip. At this point Dec 1st looks like a good date to try to sell. I am guessing if they have them, they will be gone after black Friday, and then skies the limit. 27R7 for the one I ordered from LEGO Shop at Home a few days ago.
  34. Oh and the car (Iron Man: Detroit Steel Strikes set #76077) Without the play feature (wheels flipping to enter flying mode) I think the car would have looked nicer. Still a nice build though. Fun to build and great play feature for kids.

$72 Just sitting on a shelf waiting to be purchased. Box is beat to hell but I'll be keeping this to build anyway.
  36. Francisco Hartley's Pagani Huayra with instructions from Thorsten50 completed.
  37. and Raskolnikovs UCS Size AT-AT. Still trying to source the correct 5x5 dishes in lbg for the sides of the head. Also need another AT-AT driver and more snow troopers Next up is to build my bricklinked 10134 Y-Wing
  38. What an amazing build! Took us around 6 hours. The payoff on Step 236 of the yellow and red modified plate placement in Step 155 absolutely blew my mind. Bag Seven was a work of art. This set is solid gold, my favorite to date.
  39. A Millennium Falcon with hyper inflation drive?
  40. I have had quite a string of fraudulent purchases lately. Warning signs for brickpickers: 1) item purchased buy-it-now, above market price, no negotiation, immediate payment 2) buyer quickly responds asking you to ship immediately for a birthday or because they'll be out of town 3) address looked slightly odd in paypal, but was verified. 2 of them had extra spaces, or periods in the address line 4) buyers were all low feedback, but this could happen at any feedback level What I did in each situation. 1) Set your shipping policy to give you time to think about it (I pick just under the 'extended handling time' penalty, like 3 days). This allows the REAL buyer time to notice they've been hacked and contact you. Also prevents your seller rating from going down, while you wonder if you're shipping to a scammer vs meeting your 1 or 2 day shipping stats. 2) Ask yourself is this too good to be true? If so, it's probably a fraudulent purchase. 3) Ask the buyer lots of questions. If they're unable to respond after contacting you so quickly, they might be doing this many times to other sellers. Try to discern the scammer from the real mom who needs the present for Timmy by Friday. 4) Once you find out it WAS a fake purchase, Do NOT respond to a paypal request for refund. Do the refund in EBAY first by requesting the user cancel the transaction, ebay then asks you to refund the amount. Do so HERE, not in Paypal. If you refund in Paypal first, then try to cancel in Ebay, Ebay tries to get you to refund AGAIN. This bit me, and I had to call Ebay for resolution.
  41. Very funny. Anyone who is an Angry Birds investor, please stand up! The first rule of not being laughed at. Don't stand up. I know some people have to be buying these sets, and I know some people will make some money of them. More power to you. I will admit to having a Piggy Pirate Ship and an Plane since I am still a sucker for Walmart clearance. Love the updates. Thanks.
  42. 50% off EU sale doing damage and only the real turds (Axl´s Tower Carrier, Angry Birds Heist, Lego Batman Movie minifigs and Aaron´s Striker) are still standing. A word of warning for Angry Birds investors - people are receiving Q2 2016 seal codes from SAH, which means they still have original run stock!
  43. I think my parents just died a little inside. "Easy listening." Beatles are rock and roll man!

Again, this shows Lego's lack of fantasy.
