  1. On my local Facebook page, for $45 57 of 61 sealed bags of what I assume are Taj Mahal pieces.
  2. Crossed another one off of the "in my Dark Ages" go-get list!
  3. Both brown, Val-E's favorite color.
  4. Finally finished my Sandcrawler which I was about to complete for last couple of weeks. Very rewarding construction with many interesting assembly methods implemented with this one. Highly recommend.
  5. I have 2 Erasers, since my teachers always told me I needed a backup.
  6. Built the Death Star 2. Great buy from local buyer for £500 and it was complete with instructions and box.
  7. I'm in shock. It's 56 of the 61 bags and manual 2 and 3. I've asked if they have anymore or the other manual. All 3 manuals are about $350 plus on BL. This is up there with my 10030 find from a couple years ago. I need to figure out how easy it is to figure out the contents of the missing bags, and what my time and cost is going to be to gather it up vs just selling it as is on the bay.

Oh, come on - now mines are on a three-year rehash schedule yet still no hospital or farm.
  9. These are not in short supply. Not a fan of the 20 figure sets either for resale. So I still bought 80 cases at a discount cause I'm smart like that
  10. Just a heads up for cardholders. I received a one time 15 off 100 coupon in an email this afternoon. Lego hard to find is excluded. Everything else is a go I believe
  11. Ultimate Batmobile nice build looks neat great playset. Awesome exclusive figs and best bat signal with light brick.
  12. Maybe the real problem isn't the set, but the fact that people think they are going to strike it only one year after retirement. While it's nice to expect every set to go like an AT-AT, Town Hall, or Raptor Escape, that's not how it usually ever works on 90% of sets. Too many people want it all, and want it now... and those are the people that will be out of the game fairly quickly. I admit, I've cut my spending on investments to about 1/2 of what I spent last year, which was about 1/3rd of what I spent in 2015... So, there's definitely signs that Lego investing isn't what it used to be. However, if you invest in UCS Star Wars, I think it's wise to wait at least 3 to 4 years before you even begin to think about selling it. The problem is most of the people that bought don't want to wait that long, and so their lack of patience should make them question why they are in the game..
  13. Compared to the new-normal for UCS / Exclusive sets, These are doing quite well on Amazon USA, but that's likely due to the very strict gating (I've heard) on this product compared to other recent UCS retirees. Seems like many usual sellers were prevented from selling this one. I see 3 various listings on Amazon for 75059 (most likely to get around this issue) The lesser listings still as much as 400 shipped, the main listing at 427 shipped, and 449 shipped before you leave the first page of offers. Only 5 pages of offers in total tells me that this likely was gated more than usual or these weren't hoarded as much as earlier sets. Ebay USA's cheapest is $341 shipped but it quickly jumps to 370, 400, 440 with a few sales and only 71 listings total currently. To me, that's not bad for a recently retired set that many found on discount, especially as they had significant sales right into retirement announcement, meaning people are already making small profit even if bailing now. Must be a very different market in Europe on this one. I'm seeing it as pretty strong here based on numbers above. Totally agree that the irrational exuberance of the pop has slowed, and I believe that's a HEALTHY change from where we were. The B-Wing's life was so different than so many sets, I find it hard to bring into any comparison. Such a short life, such a wide-spread discount availability, such a HUGE sale (50%) nation-wide, but for such a short window (a few days online after the May 5th in-store blow out). If the gating was as restrictive as some have hinted, this one may have a really drastic difference between ebay and Amazon. This could be good for the set as it creates a 'false' sense of rarity on Amazon, pushing the ebay price further. Either way, I believe in this set long-term. IT's a classic, gets nothing but rave reviews from those who have built it, and will be hard to top perhaps meaning they might not ever consider re-doing, certainly not at UCS scale.
  14. BTP would have at least got an even 100.
  15. A sealed case can be had for 150 or so on ebay. Have not seen that since series 2 simpsons which has not recovered from that low.
  16. You sold an item, they paid, & ebay/paypal approve - send the buyer their item.

1 month ago in the Friends Hospital set!
  19. Sorry for not posting the video before. The hood thing is a bit Force Awakens, isn´t it? http://www.bbc.com/news/av/entertainment-arts-40626273/doctor-who-s-13th-time-lord-unveiled
  20. Darn, sold too early! https://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Bricks-Deluxe-Brick-pieces/dp/B002UD8P4S/ref=sr_1_1144?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1500318729&sr=1-1144&keywords=lego&refinements=p_89%3ALEGO
  21. It had a very very slow and arduous death at the TRU graveyard after many many many discount cycles. Nobody cared then and nobody cares now.

Weird Lyrics, Check. Makes you feel old...This came out 22 years ago...
  23. I guess that's why it's called SandCRAWLER
  24. We used to call them rubbers in school, ah the innocence of youth
  25. Yeah I thought I made it clear over the years I'm not the brightest tool in the shed but damn I sure love a good deal
  26. Flash, Cyborg, Reverse Flash, and Killer Frost

If Apollo is the most talked about but least hoarded set, then sure. I dunno which is the better case to be in, though. It´s just the CITY we buy or talk about that doesn´t appreciate. All the other sets do just fine.
  28. Thanks @Val-E great read. Like you big take away is 10th anniversary set. Also liked "stickers are good for kids" and neat to learn that the Arch designers can not create new elements.

Judge for yourselves on the credibility(or lack of) of the rumours. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/113207-winter-village-sets-rumours-and-discussion/&page=23#comment-2772846

That's the current rumor for the Winter set.
  31. One has to become a fossil first before to see some serious appreciation. Hopefully in some time most impatient investors will have quit this game and things will return back to normal. Whatever that is.

By far my favorite Chevelle tune.
  33. I don't know if any UCS set has ever done this badly before, but I do notice that all recently retired Star Wars UCS sets (10240, 10236 and 75059) are currently showing a downward trend in eBay sales. I guess I should be glad that I didn't go deep on these Star Wars sets.
  34. @labfreak7 Looks like set 8043
  35. That's the point of me saying in the next sentence to be happy with what I have and not be too greedy. It's an easy trap to fall into for any of us. I did remind myself that I was lucky to accidentally stumble upon it just floating around. Maybe my use of disappointed is a little deceiving. It's like going to on a trip and being disappointed you only got to see half of what they have to offer. The trip was still great though.
  36. My son and i build 76026 Gorilla Grodd goes Bananas. Fun little set. I love the Invisible Jet and the Bat-Mech.
  37. Hello...I don't know to what extent you are involved in trying to make money from reselling LEGO sets/bricks, but waiting for glitches is a bad business model. The people who took advantage of the glitch were prepared and waiting for the regular deals to launch. It was not so much luck as it was being informed and taking a chance on potential deals. People grind out money from reselling LEGO sets to lipstick all the time...but they grind it out. They have a plan and put the work in and are ready to pull the trigger. Fortune favors the prepared mind...
  38. https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/fp/304248 Was able to double dip. Got 55 off 60. Was only missing one TFA set. Poes X wing for 4 dollars is ok with me lol. Have to have Amex (not everyone is eligible) if it says: And what it should look like in the cart: Good luck!
  39. I totally read that in a Napoleon Dynamite voice.
  40. Well, the construction is moving along at the moment. Though, always expect the unexpected in this line of work... "Carol, where's my green syringe? It had the experimental drug in...it...HOLY MOTHERFU-" "Ermm...Doctor, did you hear something?" "Nope." "Steady as she goes, guys. Just connect it slowly. This isn't rocket science..." "Except it is, boss. Can you lend us a hand?" "No, I can't. I'm supervising. It's what I do. Supervise." "This thing isn't so heavy!" "Speak for yourself, you're using one hand, Bob! WHAT THE BRICK?!" "Oh, that makes sense..." "Oh hey, Ellen. I gave the Captain the inoculation for the space sickness!" "CAROL! That wasn't it! THAT WAS MY EXPERIMENTAL RADIATION DRUG!" "...Oh...dear..."
  41. I used to use it. I'd say about 15 times out of every 100 sales. BUT it just took one sale to a buyer who didn't understand the shipping method for me to never use it again. The buyer messaged me over and over again..why this and why that over where it was and how long it was taking even though the estimated time was accurate on my listing. I managed to keep the buyer cool and avoid negative feedback, but that was enough for me to stop using it just to save a few dollars. I'd rather up my price a bit and just ship USPS. I had one experience where I used it to ship something about 30 miles away. It took 7 days to get the item to the customer. Sat at a fed ex warehouse in the opposite direction for a few days arghhhh. That should have been clue enough for me. Again...most times no problems...but why risk it over a few dollars. YMMV.
  42. Other: Multiple factors play a role. - The 10188 remake was a big blow to the moral of the reseller. The effect will show in the next years. When people hesitate to pay top dollar for retired sets cause it might or does get a remake. - Oversupply on the secondary market is a very big problem. Especially when big chains 'en masse' have such ridiculous discounts. Cause it does not only oversupply the secondary market. It also makes everyone buy mostly the same sets. I'd rather see shops have different sales. So if one misses the sale the other has an advantage. And the other way around. I am really curious how this will pan out. - All the different alert sites that have emerged the last years. Nobody has to miss any sale or discount anymore. See my second factor above.
