Little update. I did 7 order for the 400 part missing. Cost me 80 euros of part and something like 50 euros of shipping and fees... I think I have one order for 1,5 euros of part and 6 euros of shipping ? but that was the best I could do. I could have been smoothin the orders on more project and over time, but in the end I decided to go the fastest way and focus on this project only... All orders are on their way, I expect most of them to arrived by this week. So In total, I would have spend: 82 euros on the bulk listing of ~2000 parts on eBay plus 13 of shipping 42 euros on the sticker plus 4 of shipping (Bricklink Seller W44SHOP still has some, and the one I received was mint) 80 euros on Bricklink order for the last 400 remaining parts plus 5 minifig in new condition and 50 euros of shipping that would total for 271 euros which I think is a very good price. All the parts will be legit Lego part in the correct color (old grey color in the bulk were discarded) I will post a picture once assembled! Also, as I was posting before, I tried whitening some parts because, why not! I used a mix of Peroxyde Hydrogen and Washing Soda. I first put some lukewarm water just enough to submerged the lego parts entirely. Then I disolved a tea spoon of washing soda in it. Then I poured two table spoon of Peroxyde Hydrogen (mine was higly concentrated at 35%. Watch out for your eyes) I put it in the sun for about 2 hours, stiring and re submerging part every 15-30 minutes because from what I understand, the chemical reaction creates the little bubbles you can see in the picture which are CO² (carbon dioxyde) which makes the lego part floating... just a gentle poke every few and then to remove the bubble (especially from the bottom of the part) and voila! These are the part before. Some are very yellowed, other not so much on the top but more on the side Here are the same parts after a session of whitening... most of them look just as new (if you do not count the bite mark on them lol! ) I still have a lot to do, will start building soon, I think my biggest luck was to find the eBay bulk sale. thank you all for your input. Great Community!7 points

Look what I finally took out of the car lol. When I risked my life to drive around in a tropical storm to find 7 dollar scout troopers (and whatever else I found) Yes it was worth it.5 points

Hovering around $200 shipped on ebay. You're looking at a more realistic $25-$50 profit. (assuming a max $20 in shipping related costs) However, Buy 5, sell 4 and you could get one free. ?4 points

We built this over the weekend. My daughter is 6 and was really excited for it. It's a pretty cool set - play features are much better than something like the Grand Hotel. There are some cool little builds, like the doctor's office, and the waiting room in the lobby. Plus that little baby, which I expect to get lost in our house in about a day or so.4 points

I built the UCS B-Wing 10227 over the weekend as the kids and I continue to work our way through our Star Wars want list whenever we have enough profits from Legos sales to finance our next buy. I enjoyed the build as it had some different pieces that I have never used before...plus I am always a sucker for a large OT set. I haven't built the 75050 B-Wing for comparison, but have been busy selling them to pay for sets like these ?. (Sorry for the low quality pics...we had bad lighting and just snapped them quickly.) Next up for us will be the Tantive IV 10198, which we are excited to finally build.4 points

I disagree with your Super Meh award unless you honestly believe that Lego can go from concept phase, to design, to 3-D model, to redesign, to brick model, to packaging, to production, quality control, back to production, and finally packaging and distribution in 3 months or less. That would make them the most innovative and fastest company of this magnitude in the world (doesn't sound like the Lego I know considering their website sucks). It is more likely that Lego worked on the mini model and the larger model at the same time similar to the new beetle. My wife and I are excited to buy this, if it looks nice.2 points

Yes, the GBHQ was so far beyond dispute (they even brought the poor guy in, to copy examine his set even better) - and then they had the nerve to send him a free set. My sense of anger over that behavior will never pass.2 points
-
That's the main offender. There was a MOC Haunted House that was out before that set was introduced as well and was strikingly similar to the Monster Fighters version. Surely others I'm forgetting off top of my head. I get that there will be MOC's that are similar to official Lego sets, but the GBHQ was a rip off.2 points

People give out the whole time that the vehicles haven't changed enough, but do real military vehicles change that much over time, course they don't. Do you give out that aircraft carriers look just like much bigger versions of the ones they had back in WW2. Or have tank designs really changed that much over time either?2 points

I'm with you, @TabbyBoy. I refuse to pay more than RRP for a set, especially when it's a new set that will be in production for more than a year yet. But people who were raised by their parents to be spoiled brats, given anything they wanted, the moment they wanted it, think: I want it now and I'll pay whatever necessary to get it now. Ha ha ha... suckers! For myself, I'm really eager to get this set myself, but I'm patiently waiting for a good promo to go along with the purchase of this marvellous set.2 points

I aim for 50% off on Friends sets that I'm impressed with. Given some patience after retirement and the official toy-stores have run out of stock, the price creeps back up to RRP and it's a decent sale then. Regarding 41122 Adventure Camp Tree House... I got one at 50% off from LEGO Shop at Home in their January sale with the intention to sell it later, but once my daughter saw the box she wanted to have it for her birthday. And a happy daughter is worth more than a profit.2 points

I'm hoping this will be a good looking set. We are Anglophiles so anything in this family is desired... now if we could only get a minifig similar to Lester!1 point

Got info from another forum that this will be 1,106 pieces, which is a little more than half the pieces of the UCS R2D2 set 10225. I think it'll be in scale with R2 which would be awesome.1 point

Just wanted to say a quick Hello on this forum. Name is Kevin and originally from Holland. Living in Vancouver nowadays and loving it. Just started investing (moderately) in a little bit of Lego. Doing a lot of research here on BP!1 point

I have not tried this on printed parts like minifig, I have no guarantee on how it will turn so proceed with caution. I read it should be ok but not tested myself...1 point

why hoard when you can flip them all now at 75-100$ a set? Since they are still in production, this is a simple opportunity to make quick cash. Not sure why any of this is surprising or controversial.1 point

great price for Kmart, and fairly high probability it will be gone soon. This had hit around $100 on yoyo with coupon stacking, once or twice. also looks like a large number of sale prices have been reset. still a few deals there but many prices are back to rrp or above. they did this a couple weeks ago and it took a week or more for things to come back down again.1 point

Speaking of Kmart...For those of you looking for the Lego City Square 60097, it is $119.99 at Kmart. Not to mention all the coupon/gift card magic/points that can be used. I don't remember it being this low anywhere else. http://www.kmart.com/lego-174-city-square-60097/p-004W007458728001P?plpSellerId=Kmart&prdNo=1&blockNo=1&blockType=G11 point

Prices: US: $159.99 UK: £149.99 (equivalent to €169 at current exchange rate) DE: 159,99 € FR: 159,99 € NL: €159,99 Ireland: €159.99 Spain: 159,99 € Australia: $249.99 (equivalent to €168 at current exchange rate) --- At least no LEGO tax added for most European countries. Well, except for the UK who are suffering from the currently bad exchange rate.1 point

Kmart has a whole bunch of sets 40% off online right now. Not sure how long it will last, so I would grab what you want quick! Most are NOT hot buys so coupon magic makes it even better1 point

ha, I'm not one to hold much of anything these days for long term. Especially in polys. It should hold its own though after the TRU ones are gone. Doesn't really seem like a lot being able to be purchased in bulk like past years. If most got 50-100 that is not many per store. 30320 was actually higher than that at some stores but not all stores got that one as well. LL will sit on inventory for years and keep recycling the promos so they are really not one to worry about dropping the price. TC-14 lingered for 4 years there and still never got put in the system to buy outright. All of the GWP are coded that way now so really hard to buy in bulk. Could change but for now Pod seems safe overall. Won't be $25+ but $15-20 should be foreseeable again. Even at the high price it never had enough demand to move in volume. That is the problem with a lot of the obscure ones. Only so much demand.1 point

What is up with all the reseller hate on here I expect it on the Amazon reviews but if we can't talk about that what is left Bitcoin? I thought this was a lego investment website. This set will be produced until the end of 2018 but every production run will be snatched up by resellers like sharks to blood in the water. Everyone on here had a chance to get this set early and unlimited from Walmart if you missed out adapt or move on.1 point
