  10. We have seen this before with other big sets like the modulars where the limit has been reduced during the summer months. I suspect this is when Lego is either shutting down some production lines for maintenance reduction in staff due to summer holidays pumping out inventory to fill those huge orders retailers have placed for the Christmas rush I think the Ferris wheel have one more year as they just retired Fairground Mixer earlier this year. But if people are buying the Carousel, people maybe picking up the Ferris Wheel, which means more sales and extended life.
  11. Many thanks. I got it to work on an order of two imperial trooper battle packs (75165). Also, was able to use $3 in surprise points. And after applying less than $10 of my own points, my total order for the two sets = $3.21.
  12. I say this all the time and the wife is never pleased to hear it.
  13. Found some full price Olaf polys at Kmart today. LEGOLAND California will be getting them this month. They will be free with a $20 purchase.
  14. I sold the rest of my Dimension packs about two weeks ago. 171 total and they were a combination of Homer, Zane, Wizard of Oz, Gimli, Legolas, Cragger, Gollum, Emmett, and Bad Cop. Selling these packs lately has been super slow and most of these are the bottom of the barrel packs. I was able to sell them all to one guy via CL for $2 a pack. I made $342 total, $155.61 of profit. Glad I was able to get rid of these all at once......and so was my wife.

  25. You really missed an opportunity to build a steamroller battalion.
  26. Nobody can. Or more precisely: You cannot do two (cognitively damanding) things (properly) at the same time. Multi-tasking is a myth. Splitting up your attention between two or more tasks will always lead to inferior results for every task involved. For the best results, sequential execution is inevitable. However, this case is about building LEGO and watching a movie - so it doesn't really matter.
  27. The newest picture was created by CM4Sci precisely to show how easy it was to fake a box image, he never tried to trick anyone and made it clear from the start...

I totally missed that. Congrats!!! I'm sure they'll pop up eventually again for a promo or what have you. Just wanna get one to complete my Batman Polybag collection.
  29. Yes, 3 for 2 will have had a influence on UK prices, as well as Ebay not charging any commissions, but I thought Tabby made off with all the Wall-E´s online! This is one of the few sets I´d keep for long term hold - similar to Delorean or Mystery Machine.
  30. My choice too, sans the extra surprise points. $6.61 tax included for the two.
  31. Well I made money off of RI. Those blasted Exo suits on the other hand

  33. Taping two complete boxes together is tacky but the posters were talking about taking two undersized boxes, cutting them and then taping together to make a single larger box. There is nothing wrong with doing this, but most delivery services will not honor any claims for damage if you make your own box like this. You've compromised box strength. (Kmart probably has a flat fee for delivery which is perhaps why taping two boxes together would also be a big no-no... for most people it would be silly because it could push you into dimensional weight and that can really drive up the cost of delivery.)

No. Your memory is accurate. Bea is just a force ghost now while Betty is the Last Jedi
  35. one of my best ebay message exchanges ever. we can't even make this stuff up. total fruitcake. happened 3 months ago. i was the buyer for a diagon alley set. - Sent by me at 7:47pm. "Hi. I just paid and did read your auction summary, A couple of missing pieces is fine. I take it that all minifigures are included? I also assume the lego retail box will mailed inside a shipping box for protection. Please let me know me know before mailing this set. Thanks," - seller's reply 11:34pm - "Dip those on some oil the shlt will get you faint" - my follow-up 12:24am- "What?" - seller's reply 6:07am - "I am so sorry for that message I was under the influence last night and I confused my eBay messages with my text messages. I would like to apologize for saying those words to you" - seller's reply 6:09am - "Yes it's all in the box and it will packaged as well" ha ha

  37. "He then sold his idea to Lego and has already received about £20,000 in royalties for just three months of sales. An estimated 50,000 boxes containing his robin, hummingbird and jay have been sold around the world since their release in January. The box is priced at £39.99 in Britain." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3123117/Bricks-feather-Lego-lover-Tom-s-home-birds-fly-shelves-landed-wife.html 20,000 GBP are indeed 1% of 50,000 sets sold at 40 GBP. But LEGO says the designer gets 1% of NET PROFITS - so I guess the royalties should be lower. In the end LEGO could just pull off some Hollywood accounting and pay the designer ZERO. Since you as a designer have no other choice but to accept the deal on net profit, there's no alternative of course. But whenever you do have the choice you should opt for percentage of GROSS revenue, just sayin.
  38. I sold one for $150 FBA a couple days ago.
  39. 42039 started last night and finished this morning! With the organization of the bricks, a process that fulfills my OCD needs, this build took just over 4 hours! Easily one of my favorite Technic builds...right up there with the 8458 Silver Champion and the 8466 4x4 Offroader. Snagged this used on BL for a good deal.
