  1. Despite trying to let my wallet recover from May 4th, I was tempted by the Walmart clearance thread. I picked up a $35 Tie Striker for my collection and a $35 Duplo Batcave to put away for this guy (only 30% off but I couldn't resist)!

  7. Tonight I finally finished off the UCS Tie Fighter while watching Episode IV. After sitting in my build pile since December, I decided to put it together doing 1-2 bags per night over the last week. Overall, I was very happy with the set. I'm not sure why such harsh criticism? Also, I disassembled and put away Technic set 42030 Volvo L350F Wheel Loader....primarily in order to make room for more SW UCS sets. UCS Slave 1 is up next.

  9. Thanks to exciter1 and the TRU post late this week, I was able to get a LEGO Friends Heartlake Airport 41109 set yesterday from my local TRU using in-store pick-up for 45.59 using a TRU gift card from Raise in combination with a $10 coupon my wife had. Thanks again to this great community and my goal is to pay it forward and to return the kindness when I find a deal on my own to post, which can be hard to do since great deals are often posted in minutes after being discovered! Cant’ wait until this year’s Christmas selling season with all the deals being found on retired sets.

  11. that's ok - it's still infinite profit when you put up none of your own money. 100% agree that's what this is. it's not like someone was like - oh look i have a bunch of at-at's lying around i forgot about. i have 4 at-at's left. i've named them to help make it more difficult to sell them emotionally. it's almost time for annie to hit the road once we hit $400. jerry, bruce and otis are sitting back chilling with tickets to the fba warehouse at the end of september to see what happens in October-November.

  14. Agreed. In my house, we have significantly reduced and rationalized all of our Lego themes, particularly SW. We have limited SW collecting to: -UCS: only the ones we want -Microfighters: only the ones we want -Advent calendar: because fun -Select normal sets on a case by case basis such as Droid Escape Pod and Luke's Landspeeder to go with the UCS Sandcrawler, some of the Rebels sets (Ghost, Phantom, Phantom II), Jedi Starfighters, etc We went from "gotta have them all" to only a handful of purchases so far this year.

  23. Yes, very easy just add it to your cart on target.com then call 1-800-440-0680 Select option for help with online order I think it is 3 then give them your cart number Then they check Amazon say OK you place order for $199 minus 5% RC then they ask for order number and credit you $31 don't get charged until shipped so cost is $158

  25. We built Grievous... but I have to admit, i'm still not into them. If i'm going to collect the figures, i'm sticking with the black series stuff from hasbro. As time goes on, i'm mostly just becoming a modular buildings and Star Wars UCS kind of guy... If a regular set looks great we will buy that too. But, if the set isn't up to snuff, i'll just bricklink the minis my son wants for his collection. Our collection has grown so big over the years that i'm now at the point where we are selectively downsizing some of it.

  29. I still think another great option instead of buying this is the previous AT-AT (8129) which is just as good and includes more for less. It was a TRU exclusive in the US. https://www.brickpicker.com/bpms/set.cfm?set=8129-1

  34. Probably. I think we'll see this set 25% or more at some point. I don't think there will be much demand for this set at retail after the film is released. It also doesn't help this set isn't a "legit" or "somewhat typical" pirate ship However, I'll take a 15% discount any day of the week to build a nice recent released set if the film flops, we'll see 35% and more off.

  35. Started Silent Mary first 2 bags mostly technic. Interesting that the build for how the ship opens is the MOD used to make Kylo Ren's Shuttle wings be able to move from landing to flying mode.

  37. This is why I find setting aside my need for profit so liberating. The recent reduction of the eBay TRS final value fee discount from 20% to 10% has lately helped in this regard. Only when you free your soul from the material plane, will you be truly free.

  41. Slowly catching up on my UCS collection. Bought this used, and took me 3 hours to build it. After building this, I really appreciate the improvements they made with the instructions on new sets. These earlier sets were very difficult to differentiate black and dark grey. I also made the mistake of building double identical wings instead of mirror images. Should have known this after building Tower Bridge. Nice looking set, but it is a bit dated. Lots of improvements can me made if they ever decide to reissue it.

  42. I just finished the Silent Mary and really loved building it. It was a very satisfying building without the premade hull. Most of the ships using the big hull pieces are so stubby and cookie cutter the same. This ship felt like a UCS Star Wars build with the internal technic frame and partial cladding and a lot less tedious than the Death Star II. This allowed the designers to make a slender tapering ship that seems to have much better sailing ship proportions. Obviously none of the sailing ships are to minifigure scale, but on this one nothing is minifigure accessible except the deck. I think that is ok since is allows the other features to be smaller and more to scale. I love all the gold. I have uploaded a comparison with the Imperial Flagship which is the biggest Lego sailing ship. You can see the Silent Mary is much shorter, especially since so much of its hull is out of the water by comparison, but it is only a few inches shorter. The real questions is whether it can eat the Imperial Flagship. As you can see, I think the Imperial Flagship is little to big a bite. Maybe just a bit off the flank.

  44. In Lego Store across UK they are giving away 5 Batman Minifigures with transactions above some certain GBP level. They don't say if there is any limit or you have to be generally nice, but it was nice to get those for free. R2-M3 packaging is awful AF. it's not even polybag, it's mini bin-bag.

  47. cleaned out of-the-way claremont nh Walmart which ******** identified as having a significant deposit of 50% off Star Wars LEGO and other sets I was interested in and in decent quantity. ended up being one of the rare times where the inventory at the store actually exceeded what was indicated online by 3-5 sets each. pro tip: it's nearly impossible for your wife or significant other to biy&h about your seemingly "out of control" lego purchases while skulking through the repetitive walk of shame from the garage to the storage room when her mouth is stuffed with fresh delicious pastry you brought into the house first. death stare is unaffected however.

  49. Cause that's what you would do if you had mastered time travel, you would go back in time and buy more At-At's. Not play the winning lotto tickets or get rid of a young Hitler, but buy more Lego. At least you've got your priorities right.
