  4. Cherry Hill BPers you guys are Slacking. Sorry to step on your turf but was up to visit parents and couldn't pass up 20% off a set that has been retired with the Beetle promo. Girl felt bad no MOAR Beetles left so gave me a friends promo on the 5th one.

  5. Good morning everybody, time for another Wild Wins Wednesday! No Doorbuster yet, but for a quick $1 doorbuster, check your Win It! app, make sure it has been updated recently, and look at the right top corner of the Win It! game grid. There should be a label saying "Bonus Game" with a Yellow circling star. Press it, then press the green button to start a bonus game. Gave me points, plus a $1 DB. (The green button was 75% hidden under a Google Ad that I couldn't remove, but still pressable).

  6. Bought 853552 Friends Hand Foot Fun for 50% off at a LEGO Store ($12.49.) Looks like this set came and went very quickly in 2016. Very little sales history on eBay, but how could I say no to a set called Hand Foot Fun?

  7. If the new UCS Falcon was $800 and significantly larger in pieces and more detailed, that would be very good news for LEGO and all of us.

  8. Just stick it somewhere discreet lol. I had the same issue with my Sandcrawler(exact piece too, except brown) and just stuck it on top as a hood ornament. I remember, that is a fragile beast.

  17. Finally got to finish my Batpod 5004590. Managed to get all new parts, some were spares, others from Lego and bricklink, the dark pearl grey shield pieces from a small stack of breaze flee machines I found in TRU. Thankfully I sold the spare pieces in groups of 6 to help bring down the price of the build. Think it came in around 40ish quid.

  19. Okay, I've triple checked the parts list I just created with the instruction manual and the parts list in the instruction manual. I posted the list publicly on Rebrickable here: CELEB2017 - Detention Block Rescue You can go on there and export the list to a Bricklink XML. Open it in a Text Editor, copy and paste it into the Bricklink XML box, and you'll have a complete want list. NOTE: Bricklink doesn't like the Stormtrooper helmets or Luke's had that Rebrickable has in their inventory, that should go for this set. So if you need those, you'll have to manually add them yourself. This should hold us over until Bricklink approves the set, and a couple of us can verify the inventory.

  20. Nope, not if your plan was to say buy a $45 item and use $5 in points to get it down to $40. I am no expert and still learning through the apprenticeship of studs like @MinifigW , @Phil B, and @Sfcommando14, but there are other methods to sweeten the deal so that you never use your own credit card on freelego.com. For example, on Monday I was able to get the 75156 Krennic Shuttle for $48.05 after tax with $49.57 back in points thanks to purchasing a GC through a certain affiliate.

  21. Weird. It's there for me now. Yeah, don't let the wife know. Or my wife know. Because I'll be spending the new few weekends painting instead of doing the 10,000 other things on "the list."

  24. the latest lego ideas project to reach 10k votes has a very sad story to it. there is a good chance it will be picked regardless of the MOC designer's illness. it's a sound design that's not over complicated (elements, cost to market, etc...) and promotes better health (sun exposure in this case). https://ideas.lego.com/projects/155367 https://ideas.lego.com/projects/155367/updates

  25. Walmart has started their "Discount" program for picking items up. (Mods feel free to move this if there's a better place for it.). From what I am seeing, it doesn't apply to very many sets.

  26. Don't think so. You'd have been the fruitcake if she tried to counter and then you told her off for not understanding that no means no. At least your buyer waited until after you passed to unleash the pathos. I had someone on a classified app give me the Easter story up front with their low-ball offer. Which was still better than the person who made a low-ball offer and responded to my counter by repeating their original offer with a "please."

  28. Garage sale. $35 for all 3 used sets. Inventoried them and 1 set is missing 1 piece. The sets were even disassembled and put into their proper boxes. Zero dirt or dust, built once. Extra pieces included. All parts, instructions in excellent condition, boxes nr mint. I've wanted to build this TIE for a while too.

  29. LEGO is a toy company, who benefit from their toys being collectible, but in the end want to sell toys. Yes, they are re-releasing some "classics", but only those which they think will have immediate, broad appeal and will sell past their production targets. I doubt they will start re-releasing more obscure sets as mentioned before. SW is hot right now, and unless LEGO has a commitment to resellers (which they don't) they would be stupid not to cash in and release a flagship set based on the flagship of the franchise. I often get the impression many of us here think LEGO is making short-sighted decisions, but I don't think they do. They have obviously factored all aspects of their appeal (both to kids and adults) into their product development, plus they are obviously aware of their status as a collectible product, and have many examples from other brands to look at and learn from. If LEGO thinks the time is right to make another MF UCS, I bet they have data to support it will sell well (compared with their targets). The "old" MF UCS will still have value, after all, it was the holy grail for so long, and if you collect you need that one. There might be a small bubble popping for those who bought at $2-$3k with the intent to resell, but for those who bought at retail there remains a nice amount of profit (granted, smeared out over many years) to be had. And if anything, the next holy grail is already out there, be it Taj Mahal, Grand Caroussel (though rumors on its replacement are also swirling), Green Grocer, etc. The thing is, the more people sour on investing in the larger sets (which is what I sense is happening right now), the more likely it is that in 5 years from now one of the currently retiring sets is the next UCS MF. Especially if TLG has to downsize their portfolio since the whole TLM surge in popularity is by now gone - some sets just won't be made again for a long time. Net, this is not the end of the road, just another inevitable change in the marketplace. Adapt or else ....

  31. I'm not finding my answer here or the Shop@Home thread, so I'll ask a potentially dumb question. Is there an early VIP for this set? Or are we all buying May 4th? This excludes @ravenb99 of course and his van full of 75144's. I really don't want to have to stay up all night May 3rd to buy this and R2.

  36. My son built set Kryptarium Prison Breakout 70591 from his Easter basket...his third ever non-SW set and his 2nd Ninjago set. We watched seasons 1 and 2 of Ninjago over Spring Break last week whenever the kids needed a break from swimming and other shenanigans. They are hooked now. The minifigs in the set are great, and generally I have always thought Ninjago sets are well done other than the similarity between some of the sets over time (especially the vehicles). My kids seem to have the inclination to collect some of the Ninjago characters minifigs, an inclination which I will hopefully squash given the amount of SW and Friends sets that we have amassed already. Still, cool little set that the Easter bunny likely picked up from the BOGO 40% off on Amazon a couple weeks ago.

  38. But surely the sad story of the MOC designer's stage 4 Melanoma will help sway the Ideas Review Board towards accepting this design... Besides that, this set doesn't have a difficult license to obtain, there are no rare bricks included, and it's a set that can easily be combined with Creator 31035 Beach Hut, Creator 31063 Beach Vacation, and City 60153 Fun at the Beach. Pretty much a no-brainer for LEGO!

  42. Sold 63 Dimension Packs via CL: 29 Scooby 24 Portal 2 5 Bart 5 BTTF Total made was $305. Pretty much $5 a pack except for the Bart packs which sold for $3. I was hesitant at first to sell but since I was selling so many at once I figured why not. I didn't want to hold on to these forever. I had a great time selling these.

  44. Since the Winter Toy Shop remade this year, the biggest take away is to have a plan out. Once it reaches your desire price; SELL! Don't hold a bunch of a set forever.
