  1. Having pretty much exhausted my backlog of retired UCS sets I now need to turn to the current sets to continue building out my collection. I have to say despite the number of stickers this is a great build and looks great and I think this will do ok post retirement. Only time will tell.
  2. don't want to see another cheese slice for a while but really pleased with the result. it's huge.

I was down in Florida visiting friends. I bring all the kids Lego. My buddy's kid Lincoln was supposed to build this T-Rex Tracker I brought him but I ended up doing 99% of it while he watched and played with the figures and T-Rex. He did only turn 5 a few months ago. He's on a Jurrassic World kick lately. He was looking for Indominus Rex Breakout next. I tried to explain JW Lego was retired.
  4. FBM sellers have definitely been targeted on large sets lately , that is a established fact if you read the forums here and on Amazon . One member here is now banned from selling on Amazon all together and a few are hanging by a thread . Calling that paranoia is an insult to those folks who have done nothing wrong aside from being unable to provide proof of authenticity .
  5. All that is missing now is Spider-Man from that year. Then my collection is complete Bahahahaaahahahhaaaah
  6. All it's missing is a polar bear and a VW bus and it'd be a LOST set.
  7. recovered from a vintage parts bulk lot. All are near complete. Even have box and instructions for the Harley!

  9. Picked this up day 1 and finally got around to finishing it. Gotta say i was all for this set at first with the idea that i'd put it with the rest of my ship fleet. However i found that it looks way too small and puny next to even the Black Pearl. The lack of sails really takes away from it's display value in a fleet imo. For $250 CAD i feel like it should at least look a bit more imposing than QAR/BP. The scale issues sort of bothers me, like the small doors on the deck that can't fit minifigures, and of course the small canons. And then we have this big bell on the deck that is minifig scale.. just makes it all seem jumbled. Even though i don't play with my sets; the lack of a captains quarters was disappointing. However on it's own like i have displayed below... i think it's actually really nice. It's fun to play around with the sails/masts and really give it a "ghost" look. Build was pretty fun, both sides of the ship were fairly different and not symmetrical. Bottom line: i like it, but only displayed on it's own away from the other ships.
  10. More than a week in advance, but ad scans for Target week of 4/9 has BOGO 40% off on all Friends, Star Wars, City, and Duplo sets. Also, Cartwheel $10 off $50 toys and games purchase (excludes LEGO).

    I guess you're just what I needed
  12. I was just mentioning yesterday that I'm on a Queen kick. I love that song (and the final album). I was just listening to it yesterday. As for their writing process - you should read about the writing of Under Pressure.
  13. That is one short lift. Man, these girls are lazy.

  15. Hey everyone, Cannot believe I just stumbled across this site and it's probably the best site I have come across in a long time. Amazing how many resources are here. My story with Lego is interesting, I had hundreds of them as a kid and then suddenly stopped collecting... My sets got all jumbled into large bins and I put them away. I even think one bin was donated (grrrr). Fast forward to me now (age 27) and I have been in the collection game for awhile (comics, art, prints, action figures, etc.... just not Legos) I love SDCC and love the thrill of getting exclusives, but for some reason I didn't ever go back to my Legos until the past couple of months. I have pulled all the bins out of storage and started organizing each set and figuring out what pieces I need to replace to complete some of them. I was collecting a lot from early 2000's like the first Star Wars, Adventure and Ninja sets. I do have a few old castle sets though that I am excited to organize. Now I find this amazing resource for investing and it seems it is all coming together. I know there was plenty of money to be made back then and 2017 is only that much more popular, but I'd still like to give this a shot. Looking forward to meeting people and re-exploring my long lost childhood nostalgia. Cheers! Scott
  16. we are at this moment planning our exit from amazon. while amazon has been great while it lasted but the level of fraud and buyer extortion has gone to the point that it has become overwhelmingly beyond tolerance level. [ its getting much higher than cost of doing business and the profit generated ]. there are two main things that started happening that are gearing us towards this direction: a. while seller-support were for dog-and-pony show somehow they used to be able to help present case to seller-performance during A-Z. b. they used to accept videos of packaging and item during packing process for certain level. including box dimensions. rfid tags. within last 2 week amazon decided that they would no longer accept i. video recording of packing and submission weight and dimensions of the carrier during any of the customer complaints. while they were reluctant in accepting rfid in the beginning they started accepting those. but now they seem to have reversed their course on that as well. ii. they would not remove feedbacks even when buyer has admitted to receiving what was listed but "they wanted expensive item". iii. they would side with buyer in cases where buyer would order 75055 and make a claim that wrong item was sent. they would respond they are expecting 10221. and amazon would grant in buyers favor for incorrect item sent. "return label doesn't matter" while its unfortunate when such things occur one has to take a step back and evaluate. and our decision has been to step away from amazon. it may be a good news [less competition] or bad news [ frauds will catch up to other sellers ] depending on which side of coin one will look.

Maybe Disney are looking to beat Fast and Furious in the number of unnecessary sequels competition. Episode 33.33: No Endor in Sight.

my metrics is a mess due to those scam as well. being a small seller, i have no way to sell 100+ item to make it right. i just sell as normal (4-5 sales a week, take off all expense item).... ignore the short period matrix being a mess. my matrix is back to normal now and no one from Amazon ever contact me about my matrix.
  22. Yep, "Here you go, I can spare a square".
  23. Restock of the SC Ford set today and they took down the sign. Still ringing up $24.99, so I picked up a few more.
  24. It's not overhyped. It's not overhyped. My metrics are a mess from people claiming large sets were fake. Amazon refunded the buyers, did not charge me, but trashed my metrics. Makes no sense at all. Amazon is a mess right now. Check out all the fake listings for the Switch. Dozens, maybe hundreds listed for $150-200. I'm done selling there, at least in the near future. Sorry for thread derail.

  27. There are a dozen or more just from this small BP community who've been hit. More common than I'd like to see.
  28. I think the Slave 1 is the closest to actual minifig scale of any of the UCS sets. Still a little small, but close.

Summer 2017 - do we have all of these in one post yet? I know I've seen most of these before.

Had built this a few weeks ago and finally applied the stickers. Designed by Bruno Jenson, instructions by Thorsten and professional stickers by Jaap Technic. More info can be found on rebrickable and Eurobricks.

Just got this from my walmart caterham order. Thought that was impressive customer service, especially for Walmart.

*whew* A lot of fan boy *** dreams in there. I'm curious to see if it all plays out. I know the film that may be targeted for 2020, and might be announced in Orlando is a *big* deal to me.
  38. I went for Gentle Giant.

For a $20 set, that's real neato burrito.
  40. This is definitely the direction they should take buildables. I think this works. Now I wanna see these buildables: Han on a tauntaun, Tusken raider on a batha, Darth Maul on his speeder...hell I might even want a Gungan warrior on whatever thing they were riding to battle.

Why do I seem to care more about their future than they do? Maybe they are just figuring it is best to cash in now (before an inevitable fall in popularity), or maybe - They aren't planning on being around in the future (in which case, higher sales now would equal a higher price paid for the company). I once would have never thought of the family selling as being a possibility - but nowadays, I am not so sure.

I purchased the Poe Dameron and Lor San Teeka figs recently off bricklink. Spent about 17.00 for both of them... So far, it's the only force awakens set my son doesn't have in his collection, although I also think i'll do the same to the Rathtar set. I find it better doing it that way than spending 60 or waiting until Walmart has a half off clearance on it, then trying to land one then. I'd probably spend 17 in gas just trying to beat other brickpickers to the fray (although I have done it before). Plus, my son already has the other x-wing with Poe Dameron, and he didn't need two x-wings that are the exact same build with just a different color. Also, I have no interest in becoming one of those guys that buys sets at a discount, then parts them out. With a full time job, and all the other jazz that goes with it, I don't have the time to do that. So, I hope the new battle pack with the exclusive Bounty Hunters is a move in this direction. If it is - great. I'm all for it. I'd like cantina aliens, maz kanata castle aliens, or prequel based jedi packs. Bring it on!

It gets blown up. Rey screams "you got a pilot, let's get to the quadjumper" - or something like that, then a tie fighter comes in and blows it up. Then they are forced to take the Falcon. So it did play a minor role in the film. I have to admit, I have bought a few of those 20.00 figs. . Doesn't bother me much because some other idiot buys sets I hold for 2 to 3x what I paid for them... so its an exchange of idiocy!
  44. Finally, after a lot of coaching and advice from @Sfcommando14 I decided to dip my toes into FBA. Oh boy, how stupid am I that I never tried this before ..... My items became available yesterday at 4pm and this morning at 11am, and as of right now I have already sold: 5x 41111 Friends Party Train - $14 (buyin $4) - 100% ROI after fees 5x 70801 TLM Melting Room - $28 (buyin $5) - 250% ROI after fees I landed straight in the buy-box for both listings, and nobody repriced. All I did was price within $1 of the lowest FBA price, no real undercutting or anything. Thank you mr. Bezos!
  45. The new "Spider-Man: Homecoming" trailer is amazing.
