I'm working on an "intro to the Shop Your Way & free Lego" video for those who have been asking/ PMing and DMing me questions on here and Instagram. If anyone has any tips that you think should be on it, screenshots of crazy purchases / coupon stacking, or general opinions about this idea please PM me (you will be credited if I use any pictures or tips that you send me) My hope is that it will help out those who are new to the circus.6 points

Underrated item included in this sale is the Fire Truck (60112)...no TRU mark-up, TRU exclusive and already sold out at SAH. Of course, not everyone loves City for investment. "Big trucks" though, do seem to do well and, at $35, its a good buy-in.5 points

honestly, 10179, 10221, etc... are just too big (and delicate) even a UCS MF refresh at 75% the size of 10179 is close enough to minifig scale and good enough.5 points

Yes, intercontinental moves are definitely recommended based on Nexo Knight performance. Just put that on your Green Card application and I'm sure you'll be fast tracked. Our President is also a savvy businessman4 points

I agree with @Loghamel I think the first set I did this with was Mars Rover from that Mom and Pop toy store in Canada someone posted on here a few years back. Many tried with MBS. We all know some sets do better EOL in the US like Lincoln Memorial so while these sit on shelves below MSRP in the EU and are currently going for over 2X MSRP why not load up. Same goes for the other way we will be glad to send you our TB if you think it will do well in the U.K. I do this all the time with BL, Amazon UK, France, Italy, Spain and so on. I don't think anyone wants you to give up your honey hole but if we can help each other out why not. I watched Arrival last night so maybe that is affecting my thought process.4 points

Not sure what you're getting at. We share deals on this site all the time. Otherwise, it would just be a bunch of, "Hey, I bought this set for 80% off today. Got loads of them. But don't ask where or how because I'm not telling." What are you looking for and I can tell you where to find it and then you can do the legwork to see if you can get pallets of them shipped to the UK. If he has a place that he can get a set at greater than 50% off in 8 months when the current price here in the states is already greater than RRP, I'd like to know where he's getting them. If it's a secret and he doesn't want to divulge, other than being a bit silly posting about it when the likelihood that someone might inquire about it being high, that's his prerogative.4 points

I might not know how big the new UCS Falcon will be, how many pieces it might have, or how much it will cost. But it does feel pretty safe to say that regardless of those answers, its impact will damage the value of the 10179, and will do even further damage to LEGO valuations in general. It's unfortunate that LEGO doesn't realize that having those high priced retired sets actually helps people to justify overspending on their currently available sets.3 points

Red Wheel (http://www.shopyourway.com/app/16250/l) is paying out for me today: On my primary SYW account: So I'm bragging here Did win 950 points in various random sweeps for a total of $1. Then I switched over to my secondary account, and won exactly $0 by playing all Sweeps. Decided to give the Red Wheel a whirl there too, and got this: Not complaining2 points

Seriously, I have a ton of patience with people on here, but you either lack reading comprehension skills or are being intentionally obtuse. My response to him was simply 'where'. I didn't ask him to track me down pallets at 50% off that I could ship to the US. Simply asked where. I would do the legwork required from that point. If you believe one can't purchase large amounts of stock at a discount over there, you might wanna talk to Tabby. It's done all the time and, again, I just needed to know where he thought these could be grabbed at more than 50% off in 8 months. Just because YOU don't know where or how it can be done doesn't mean the rest of us aren't doing it. Theoretically, you should be able to fit at least 32 of these in a 24" box, 2 rows of eight on the bottom, same on top. I'm guessing you could squeeze them in a smaller box, but let's run with 24". These weigh 12oz each, so we're looking at about 25 pounds. One of my intl shipping companies quoted me $164 US to ship that to the US, all inclusive. At 50% off, these are $14.99 GPB, which is approx $18.33 USD. So, to get 32 of these shipped to the US, I'm looking at approx $750. That's $23.50 each. Of the approx 300 stores I search daily, the cheapest I've ever seen these in stock is $21 and I've only gotten 6 at that price. These are currently $35 and they're not even retired yet. I'm not sure they will climb dramatically IN THE UK which is why I asked where you're thinking they might languish for the next 8 months. But appears our friends across the pond are either worried we're going to ruin their LEGO business by hoarding all of their King's Mechs or they don't understand a global economy.2 points

doubt it. after the initial huge demand, i don't think most folks will be willing to shell out $500 for a rehash or even a redesign. it's too much cash for little play value. i think lego wants even their expensive sets to be somewhat appealing for kids.2 points

I want to get in on some of this Nexo Knight action! I am laying 4:1 odds it is The Black Knight Mech 70326 not The King's Mech 70327.2 points

Quite a pop for this in the last week. Down to 25 sellers and tickling $40...2 points

Yep, back to the way it was. IIRC the big box stores were complaining about exclusivity of the sets so in 2016 they stopped selling those in LEGO stores. Kind of stupid IMO for LEGO stores not to stock every set in catalog2 points

The only question that matters is where will they stick the cheese slope that will be the highlight of the new and improved set with a 25% markup.2 points

If anyone is looking for the Adventure Time Ideas set - It is available at the Big W online store for $75. Personally I think it looks like shite. Big W online also has Caterham 7 for $125, for those who missed out when TRU had it for $992 points

My daughter and I spent the morning building the Pop Star Tour Bus and I am overjoyed with how happy she is with this set! My wife and I were not sure about the size of it (it seemed small) until we saw it fits nicely in the lane on a road plate. Thanks Brick Picker for showing me the light of not having to pay retail prices (got it for $35)! I spent the afternoon building the UCS Slave I. It seems much smaller and less detailed that I thought it would be. Oh wait, that is the 2016 Star Wars Advent calendar version...2 points

Well at least it made it to SOLD OUT at US SAH almosr 2 months ago and with only a 20% discount. I believe that it was one of the sets some investors viewed as a "gem" in the NK series.1 point

Having just finished building 10030 (the UCS ISD) I can tell you first hand it could be done better. The internal structure, as is, needs to be modified to make it stronger. Large panels for the set are attached with magnets. You basically build an entire 3 foot long panel and then attach it to the structure. There are a number of ways you could make much small pieces and attach it to the without losing anything to the look of the set. I haven't built any other ISD, nor did I build 10221 or any of the MFs so I can't really compare techniques over time. But build techniques definitely change and evolve. 10030 is a 15 year old design. Even at 10 years old, 10179 has got to have some better build techniques. I like what others are suggesting. Something a little smaller, closer to minifigure scale, with some additional touches inside, and at least the two different radar dishes. Hell, if they wait until the Han Solo movie comes out, maybe we'll find out that Lando really did something before to the Falcon and that's why Han told him to bring it back without a scratch (and that becomes another mod possibility).1 point

You must be thinking of the Black Mech which is a TRU exclusive and costs more, different set. King's Mech is exclusive to Walmart in the US.1 point

Going to take a wild guess and assume the new trend is smaller than previous UCS sets but more detailed. I think it will be bigger than the new UCS snowspeeder but like 3/4 the size of the original. Iconic ships will keep being made over and over. I think the only true one of a kinds that won't be remade are like SSD and Death Star 2 (which I'm building as I type this) sets like this I don't see them remaking. I also don't see Yoda, Darth Maul, GG, etc. ISD will be remade, Blockade runner will be remade, etc. Hate to say it but I don't think we ever see something like SSD again (great for you guys who have a bunch) the big unique sets are done. Smaller more detailed sets will be the future. Early rumors indicated they would provide 2 types so you can interchange (your preference)1 point

Wow, that really was as much of a confirmation as you are gonna get. She clearly was thinking about how much she could/should say, but also didn't want to lie about what she clearly already knows.1 point

Paid $100 on a craigslist ad and got a big box of jumbled bricks. Based on the boxes and my discussion with the seller, the purchase had: 4709 Hogwarts Castle (includes box and manual in rough condition) 4736 Freeing Dobby (box included in decent shape) 4737 Quidditch Match (box included in decent shape) 4755 Knight Bus x 2 4865 Forbidden Forest (good condition box and manual) Because the sets are so old, the manuals don't include parts lists. I'm going to have to test build to find out what needs to be replaced, but most of the minifigures appear to be present and some of the very identifiable pieces - the trophy and rings from the Quidditch set, spires from Hogwarts, banners with house logos - are definitely there. Should be a fairly quick and profitable flip.1 point

Ok you send me the details for where you can order pallets of a certain set that will be 50% off in 8 months and if i know of one i will send you them. But i'll tell you now i dont know of one, because they don't exist. And if they did exist who would tell anyone, they would just use it themselves because they would have a big advantage. Seriously if you had a supplier like that would you tell your competitors ?1 point
