Apologies if this has already been posted, but I haven't seen it on BP. There's an offer on Amazon for $25 off a $50 purchase of any item sold and shipped by Amazon if you use any amount of Amex Membership Rewards (MR) to pay for the order. You have to have your MR account linked to Amazon to be able to pay with points. Once you add the item to your cart, go to the payment options, click on your Amex card with the MR points and enter the number of points you want to use. I used 1 MR point which = $0.01. I used my Amex card to pay for the rest of the order. Once you apply the MR point(s), then enter the promo code AMEX17EVER. I bought a $50 Staples gift card that I needed for $24.99 and 1 MR point. I've seen some comments that this may be targeted, so YMMV, but it definitely worked for me. I took advantage of a similar offer at the beginning of the year at the same time that Amazon ran BOGO on a bunch of Star Wars sets, and I was able to get it to work again this time.5 points

Just about anyone answering this question means it's cleared out. Call them on the phone. Also, this is Daily Deals and people get REAL touchy about their notifications blowing up for nothing.4 points

Don't worry. I read somewhere lego is worth more than gold. If this goes south I'll just open all the boxes and melt the lego into lego bricks. Sell them on the yellow market and make a killing....3 points

I've recently expanded my local platforms by listing a bunch of items on Letgo and Offerup. In addition to Craigslist I've got a pretty good share of my local market for brand new / retired sets. The only listings in my area for Lego other than mine are usually for duplo or knock off crap, so when people see the good stuff at a decent price it generates some interest. Yes, you will get the occasional lowballer, but just stay firm, be polite, and educate them a little bit on the going rate and they will see that your price is actually a good deal. I've also developed quite a few regular local customers who have made several purchases from me, which also spreads the word. The Letgo and OfferUp apps are quite easy to use and navigate, and they also will post directly to Facebook so you can get even more eyes on your items. Local sales are the best because it's cash with no fees. It just takes a little time to get the word out. Good luck.3 points

Basically this question has been asked at least 20 times before with hopes of people sending PMs to try and sell their stock. You already have a FREE. Let me say that again FREE site called Brick Classifieds. You are already saving 10+ % on your commission fees. Take off that 10% savings of your items and spend a day or two or five and load up the site and make deals with people. If you limit it to a big bulk sale, you are cutting your changes to a very small portion. Very few people are giong to have 10/20/30+ thousand to offer depending on what you have. A while back someone sold like 19k worth of lego in like 2 weeks. Saved thousands on commissions. Just be ready to made a deal that works for you and it will go. Take advantage of Brick Classifieds now. It is moving and it may not be FREE much longer.3 points

Yup, the film won 11/11 at the 2004 Oscars. ToO is a wonderful set to behold.2 points

I guess giving the theme a bit more time is the right move. In 4 years (2021) Lord of the Rings will make it's 20th anniversary. Return of the King is the most decorated movie in terms of number of Oscars won.2 points

Nice MOC. But the profits from your 40252 sales could have easily afforded you a 70751 ..... what's $160 for you .... 6 mini VW Beetles? ;-)2 points

@njsealeJust my two bits... I recently got a craigslist offer for about $15,000 on most of my inventory. At that pricing, the buyer could have flipped it all for about 10% "instant" profit (....well, maybe in a month or two, depending on his selling platforms). We went 'round and 'round with details etc, until it became clear he could only pay via Paypal. Of course, Paypal doesn't cover that with buyer / seller protection. A Paypal rep told me that it is possible for a dishonest person with a Paypal account funded by Amex to make that kind of purchase, then call Amex the next day and say the purchase was unauthorized, merchandise didn't arrive, was fake, etc, and get the money clawed back. Now you might win that in a fight but... who wants to fight? Basically, the only way to do that kind of sale is with cashiers check (that you witnessed being written) or cash. In the end, we had no deal. I'm guessing that a real "whale" (one who actual has $15,000 to spend) would probably want to give me more of a haircut the joker I was talking to. Maybe 20% off? So anyway... with renewed selling attitude I went back to eBay (reading some of the selling on Amazon thread, you'll find that Amazon is not the place to be selling high dollar sets right now). On eBay, I've found you can move product pretty quickly at a fair price. I also love BrickClassifieds and am "double-listing" some items there at better discounts. My point is, like you, I was hoping to move all this stuff without the work. And I was willing to lose $1500... (maybe $2000?) to do it that way. But now I'm finding that... willing to take the going rate or a little bit less... I can move 10 or 20 sets a week. And at this rate, I should be able to move it all by the end of the year. Yeah it's a little work, but now the cash is rolling in, it feels great.2 points

I don't know about the comics last the early 90s either, but in the Toby movie trilogy he's a returning villain that actually plays a significant role in the maturation of Spider-Man. You end up feeling sorry for the guy. I think he helped with a robbery because he couldn't afford the cancer treatments for his daughter. Then he accidentally got transformed into the sandman. Daughter's still sick, he's a wanted freak, so he starts robbing armored cars. Not out of greed, but to pay for the treatments because the insurance companies won't cover her because she's sick and the hospitals wong take her because she's not insured. The whole point of course is to make you wonder, who's really the bad guy?2 points

If you haven't got experience sifting through bulk / know what parts are rare and worthwhile / experienced first hand the time it takes to clean and sort bulk; it's probably best to avoid bulk lego. Most time people expect 100% complete sets, however its very rare to fins that and in most cases most sets will be incomplete, the cost of replacement parts / minifigs / instructions etc to complete the sets will erode the profit margin to almost break even / loss so most people givr up and the bulk just sits in boxes doing nothing. The cycle then repeats itself with the reseller selling on the bulk to another unsuspecting "customer".1 point

You can compare the Hanes products here: http://www.target.com/s?searchTerm=hanes briefs I think they're comparable - of course other retailers might discount or promo these items at some point, but I figure that $10 back on $30 (plus whatever other points you get - currently there's a 10% back in points offer going on on SYW.com, so you'd get $13 in points on a $30 purchase of essentials you'd buy anyways) is always nice. I always use Target's $5 or $10 giftcard offers on TP and Kitchen Towel to get myself free LEGO. Plus Target's pricing on those products is typically the best I can find (with non-exhaustive research and no Costco/Sam's Club membership).1 point

Any tricks to qualify for some additional coupons? I was able to use a $50 back in points on $175 a few days ago. I wasn't sure if that was a common offer or not.1 point

I figure what the hell. Even at their current low BL prices maybe they will be an impulse item for my other orders. I left 34 Gimli on the shelf. Not enough room in the cart. In the cart: 82 Simpsons, 39 Gimli, 11 Cragger, 12 Legolas1 point

That´s where Mixels worked so well. Affordable for parents, great value for money, possibility to mix and match, short lives and tribes to make them collectible. They were a great way to get kids into lego. The buildables are none of these and are not as good as proper playable dolls.1 point
