For me, I tend to not buy sets that are really creepy looking. This fits the mold.6 points

Excellent afternoon of brickpickin. Wiped out all the barnes and nobles of their white houses, and lincoln memorials. Also found a maze, and a mystery mansion. The maze came out to 47, plus I had a 10% raise gift card thanks to their "add 4" promo. Then I stopped by TRU and wiped out the last of the Sith Infiltrators and the last lonely Tydirium. The US Capitol Building is mine to build. Couldn't resist the 67.00 price point at B&N.5 points

they ask because they REALLY really don't want the person they are getting a gift for to see how much they are spending and if you are selling them one of your price gouger over priced retired LEGO sets you really shouldn't be surprised that they wouldn't want someone to see how much they spent on some plastic bricks. they are looking for a human on the other end. they end up coming back and buying more from you when you accomodate their request. i never include the packaging slip as standard protocol because i'm so cheap and don't want to waste ink and paper for something destined to the trash. i sell hundreds of items a month all FBM. i get the request to leave it out all the time anyway so my standard protocol means I never once screw that up. i have never once gotten a complaint saying where the hell is my packing slip. from my perspective as a voracious online customer (and the husband of an even greater consumer), the only upside to including a packing slip is if you are really trying to make it easy for the customer to remember where the set came from when they want to return it to you.3 points

Looks like people have gone out and bought the Resistance Transporter today. It's been wiped out from buying online at TRU and stock has dwindled country wide by about three quarters of where it was yesterday. I think by the end of today with the B&N and TRU holdouts being the last retailers with stock that it will finally sail off into the sunset. Naboo starfighter is also sailling off finally.2 points

Wait... You're telling me that I was wrong to load up on Nexo Knights at MSRP?2 points

I inadvertently stumbled on this when I bought GG for my stepsons back in 2008 as a birthday present. They never came and got it so I just put it up on shelf and forgot about it. I recently moved and the box was slightly damaged but it is still intact/sealed and I would consider it in very good condition. Do you think it will appreciate in value over the next 10 years? Should I sell it?2 points

There are lots of Retired sets available at multiple retailers below MSRP. TRU has over 999 Droid Escape and they still haven't gotten rid of their clearance Sith Infiltrators or RTT. BN has over 1400 Flatiron left last I looked not to mention you can get them for $28 on BL. I don't want to say the "B" word but if you look at a Bell curve we are definitely approaching +2. Unless LEGO decreases the number of sets produced per year or you are lucky enough to only pick short run sets I do not see much of a chance for recovery. Mods now please move all this talk to the bubble thread. Thank you.2 points

No, US market. Isn't the rule of thumb - take what is going in the US and deduct it by half for Europe? Heck, I don't even know why there are European brickpickers on this site.2 points

I was able to buy several cases of 40252 again today. I know time is running short on this, but I'm sure I can more than double my investment in just a week or so. Found a new Ninjago accessory pack that looks pretty cool. And the little chick from last year 40202. Oh and the iconic brick calendar.2 points

If your state collects sales tax and TRU have a presence (store, office, or warehouse) in your state, then you still pay sales tax2 points

Just sold the oldest set in my inventory (based on my purchase date). It was a Technic 42001 Mini Off Roader from 9/10/14 I got for $8.47, a whopping 35% discount after tax. Sold for $20 with free shipping on eBay. Stunning performance on this one lol. With the eBay 10% rewards bonus on sales, will net a bit over $4 after fees and shipping. Yay for almost 50% return! I can almost buy a $5 Subway foot long with the profits!2 points

That worked out great! Grabbed 4 Trevi fountains, 1 imperial hotel and a Capitol building. They had some of the new superhero sets out, but they weren't ringing up with the discount.1 point

1. just2good is suggesting that the gaming aspect of Dimensions is done. It was supposed to be a 3 Year endeavor. Wave 7.5 just came out. We are in the middle of Year 2. There was originally scheduled a Year 3 line (potential properties unannounced). 2. Over on the Inside Dimensions podcast, they had some insight to the 99 Cent Store acquisition (this is me semi-quoting them): According to them, there were 478 pallets (each pallet containing cases of sets) that the 99 Cent Store acquired. A distributor of toys decided to liquidate their inventory (the 478 pallets) of Dimensions. Big Lots, Dollar Tree, Ross, 99 Cent Only Stores - they all have bid on the products. In this case, 99 Cent Only Stores won. This is how those stores often acquire a number of their products (from distributor liquidation). What you see is what you get with the 99 Cent Only Stores. Basically, LEGO way over produced Year 1, and don't expect to see the same for the Year 2 products. 3. Vortech was the big baddie for Year 1 in Dimensions. There is no minifigure for him (yet).1 point

Yes the Architecture sets have come up at the discount when they scan them in. The clerks always say they don't think they're included in the sale and then scan them and are shocked.1 point

Just got back from B&N. Went to pick up some Mazes and to stack the 25% with the 10% member discount. I politely asked the clerk if they had any more in back. While she was looking I found a single White House that I grabbed as well. She came out with four more Mazes. I paid and left the store. When I got in my car I glanced at my receipt and noticed that the White House also rang up as on sale. I wasn't expecting it to since Architecture is usually excluded. I didn't even ask when I checked out. I went back in and grabbed the two US Capitol Buildings that were on the shelf. Those rang up on sale as well. Again, I didn't ask. They automatically rang up that way. Most likely a YMMV, but you may want to try.1 point

My husband bought all of these except for the fire brigade, which I already had, this past weekend when he went to visit family out of town. I am super excited as I did not have the town hall or green grocer, and I wanted an extra grand emporium to make a double wide one. They were in excellent condition with boxes and instructions for $1,100. I have been waiting on town hall and GG for over a year. now I need a bigger table as I have many more that don't fit.1 point

Perhaps a seasoned Amazon Seller veteran might like to do a write up on "How to sell higher priced sets safely on Amazon". From what I'm seeing in this thread I'd rather not take the chance with scammers abusing Amazon's "buyers protected" policies.1 point

If the Yellow Submarine would only be available in Lego Stores and SaH it would be a gift from heaven for us. It would be pure gold. There are alot of Beatle fans out there. Which of most of them aren't lego fans. So Lego did the correct thing to sell it everywhere. Especially in the UK. Unfortunately for us.1 point

I was sort of interested by the premise of Vinyl ....however seeing how many "f-bombs" were dispersed so liberally in just the teaser killed whatever interest I had. I realize as adults we may have a tendency to swear yet at the same part being a grownup should require us to know well when such language even is needed in the first place. To me so much cussing feels unnecessary, reflects ignorance of the speaker and laziness on the writers. Well I'm done with the soapbox. Anyone want it?1 point
