Excellent afternoon of brickpickin. Wiped out all the barnes and nobles of their white houses, and lincoln memorials. Also found a maze, and a mystery mansion. The maze came out to 47, plus I had a 10% raise gift card thanks to their "add 4" promo. Then I stopped by TRU and wiped out the last of the Sith Infiltrators and the last lonely Tydirium. The US Capitol Building is mine to build. Couldn't resist the 67.00 price point at B&N.5 points

they ask because they REALLY really don't want the person they are getting a gift for to see how much they are spending and if you are selling them one of your price gouger over priced retired LEGO sets you really shouldn't be surprised that they wouldn't want someone to see how much they spent on some plastic bricks. they are looking for a human on the other end. they end up coming back and buying more from you when you accomodate their request. i never include the packaging slip as standard protocol because i'm so cheap and don't want to waste ink and paper for something destined to the trash. i sell hundreds of items a month all FBM. i get the request to leave it out all the time anyway so my standard protocol means I never once screw that up. i have never once gotten a complaint saying where the hell is my packing slip. from my perspective as a voracious online customer (and the husband of an even greater consumer), the only upside to including a packing slip is if you are really trying to make it easy for the customer to remember where the set came from when they want to return it to you.3 points

Looks like people have gone out and bought the Resistance Transporter today. It's been wiped out from buying online at TRU and stock has dwindled country wide by about three quarters of where it was yesterday. I think by the end of today with the B&N and TRU holdouts being the last retailers with stock that it will finally sail off into the sunset. Naboo starfighter is also sailling off finally.2 points

Wait... You're telling me that I was wrong to load up on Nexo Knights at MSRP?2 points

I inadvertently stumbled on this when I bought GG for my stepsons back in 2008 as a birthday present. They never came and got it so I just put it up on shelf and forgot about it. I recently moved and the box was slightly damaged but it is still intact/sealed and I would consider it in very good condition. Do you think it will appreciate in value over the next 10 years? Should I sell it?2 points

There are lots of Retired sets available at multiple retailers below MSRP. TRU has over 999 Droid Escape and they still haven't gotten rid of their clearance Sith Infiltrators or RTT. BN has over 1400 Flatiron left last I looked not to mention you can get them for $28 on BL. I don't want to say the "B" word but if you look at a Bell curve we are definitely approaching +2. Unless LEGO decreases the number of sets produced per year or you are lucky enough to only pick short run sets I do not see much of a chance for recovery. Mods now please move all this talk to the bubble thread. Thank you.2 points

No, US market. Isn't the rule of thumb - take what is going in the US and deduct it by half for Europe? Heck, I don't even know why there are European brickpickers on this site.2 points

I was able to buy several cases of 40252 again today. I know time is running short on this, but I'm sure I can more than double my investment in just a week or so. Found a new Ninjago accessory pack that looks pretty cool. And the little chick from last year 40202. Oh and the iconic brick calendar.2 points

If your state collects sales tax and TRU have a presence (store, office, or warehouse) in your state, then you still pay sales tax2 points

Just sold the oldest set in my inventory (based on my purchase date). It was a Technic 42001 Mini Off Roader from 9/10/14 I got for $8.47, a whopping 35% discount after tax. Sold for $20 with free shipping on eBay. Stunning performance on this one lol. With the eBay 10% rewards bonus on sales, will net a bit over $4 after fees and shipping. Yay for almost 50% return! I can almost buy a $5 Subway foot long with the profits!2 points

I have a source Exactly, I am not much of a global economist but looks like EU prices are suppressed, may be an American sets thing versus their economy has issues as I was able to do this with Lincoln Memorial as well but buying EOL Arch sets below MSRP is a good deal for me. Plus I like small boxes better to get 10 Flatiron shipped for $300 USD (Just ask the guy he has a source) then 1 Sandcrawler IMO.1 point

Another MOC using only parts of the 75016 Imperial Assault Carrier: This one is inspired by the wing shape of the LL 928 Galaxy Explorer. I used this as my template for the spaceship shown. It has a large cockpit and a transporter room. This room fits a small glider and a controll platform, which can be left on a planetary surface to do some further investigations. The two blue thrusters illustrate the ion engines, which power that ship. They are located at a safe distance to the cockpit and transporter room, in order to avoid hazardous radiation from the charged particles in the electric fields of the ion engines. I am now constructing the original Imperial Assault Carrier, because I am on a creative break. If you have any ideas for another MOC alternate using this great collection of grey bicks, pls let me know✨1 point

I went to Tru Saturday to buy some Star Wars sets....nothing exciting.... But the manager stopped me on the way out and said he had a box for me that he had been saving. Inside was some assorted Friends polybags , three erector sets, about 12 assorted baggies with left over build parts and 162 Ninjago polybags . I knew that set wasn't very popular but wow....1 point

I gotta be honest, I think the First Order Transporter should be throwing up titanic red flags to everyone. These numbers tell me that they aren't selling like, at all - And that TRU must have a HUGE stock of them. I am not saying I don't have any, but I am certainly not going to go crazy. This seems to have overhoarded and undesirable written all over it. Maybe you'll be able to make some money back on them, but I imagine the process will be slow and the returns small. This may be a 3 year hold and I don't see it getting much more than MSRP even at that stage. On a set that was not very attractive to begin with. I am similarly wary about Battle of Takonda which has basically been avail 30-35% off forever. Hell, let's be honest, pretty much all these First Order sets.1 point
