I've got the U-Wing via WM clearance a while ago. This set was not on my radar, and I did not expect much, but the price was right. Now, it is one of my favorites. The color scheme is esthetic; the compartment fits many people; the cockpit-opening mechanism is working; the shooting mechanism is very well developed; it has a trunk for spare parts storage; minifigs look great; and the slender design makes it a very nice display model that doesn't take the space of a 16'' pizza such as the Millennium Falcon. Thanks to the suggestion of @exciter1 it even makes a great toilet model. Not sure about its investment potential, but for me as a collector it is a great set.

I've been reading about this Dimensions bonanza for a while now. I finally made a trip to the 99c store 2 miles from me and found some. If anyone in the east coast still needs some let me know and I'd be happy to send them to you. I'm not sure how much people are paying for them, but I'll send them at cost and anything you're willing to pay above cost you can donate to Ed Mack's school, if donations are still accepted. Just an idea.

I guess there's no real point in trying to discuss if a set is a good or bad investment anymore. If you say its a bad investment people just say "I bought this for 50% off so I'll still make money", if you say it's a good investment people say "it won't be anywhere like set xxxx". Everyone has their own interpretation of what is a good profit margin. £10 profit is nothing for Mr A while for Mr B it is an amazing ROI. I don't think anymore constructive info will come out of retired set threads, apart from periodic updates on how the set is performing.

Old Fishing Store - Modular Building The Story The story for this modular building was that the Old Fishing Store is based upon the Christmas sets that are available. I liked the Christmas sets so I built this one on Lego Digital Designer (LDD). I really believe that this model could have a lot of genuine interest to fans of Christmas sets. I was afraid to click on this thread thought it was going to be more posts on how this set is poop. You probably already bought it but nothing that will be too hard to replace other then Queasy Kitty some of the parts that make up metalbeard. Also the large grey turbines and smoke stack pieces. So many tiny pieces in this detailed set. I would check the captains cabin and make sure all the "play" parts are there.

So I have a LEGO item on eBay at $11.99 (buy it now or best offer). Someone sent me a first offer of $11.98. I obviously accepted but have reservations because no other than a fruitcake would make such an offer.

Sales are still strong on Ebay for this one and once the cheaper UK sellers run out of stock, it should start appreciating nicely. I can see it following the Delorean´s growth curve.

We just got back a little bit ago. I thought it dragged a little during the 2nd half and something else about the 2nd half I didn't like as well, but I'll hold that in for now. The first half was pretty great and very funny. I want an Orphanage Batman Fan Club Battle Pack and some of those Batman emblem t-shirt torsos.

There are alot of great people on BP who give great advice on what are good sets / latest deals / what set to avoid etc. But noone is just going to handout their golden goose items that they most likely spent countless hours researching / trial and error / learning the hard way etc. This is not them being rude, but they worked hard to get to where they are. Would you give up your hard earned business secrets which would kill your livelihood? If you do want to get rich quick... I hear some Nigerian Princes can help you out if you send them some dollars to help their long lost cousin.

Yup...no 99 cents..I would have went in on an extra 100 jws for that lol. Sales should pick up on ebay and amazon now that even the west coast will be unable to find them at 99 cents.

So, an update on the £200+ set that I sent to the Czech Republic, that the buyer requested a refund for due to damage to the box. The damage was caused after it arrived at the GSP, as explained earlier. I kept in touch with the buyer explaining that I would not accept the return request straight away as that would mean that I automatically agreed to pay for return postage. I advised him that we wait around 7 days until the case was automatically escalated to a decision by Ebay, which he was happy with. It was escalated yesterday and now the case has been closed, after explaining that I should not be liable for return postage as the damage was caused during Ebay's part of the deal, not mine. The case has now been closed and the outcome from Ebay is: "You were not found at fault". "Any remaining funds from this transaction are available". "We're issuing the buyer a refund for this case. You don't need to do anything else. This case won't be included when we evaluate seller performance". So basically, it seems that I've kept all the cash from the sale as if the item had arrived in the condition that it left me in to begin with, and it won't affect my seller performance in any way. Question is, did my man in the Czech republic just get a free Tumbler because it arrived with a dented box? Maybe they just offered him a partial refund? Good work if you can scam and get it 2 things I've learned. Don't send minty expensive sets through GSP if you want to be hassle free, and if you do, don't accept a return straight away, escalate it to Ebay for a decision after the time limit to make sure you don't get charged for return postage etc.

I "smooshed" enough to get all the minifigs I was looking for in the current series, but I decided I can't keep doing this, and thought there must be a better way. Well I think I'm on to something. As an avid tea drinker, I own a small gram scale. Theyre available on amazon for like $10. Scribbly face Cop: 10.4 grams Angry usiness man: 10.1 grams Lincoln: 10.9 grams No pants guy: 10.9 grams Barista: 10.1 grams Those are what they weigh in the bag with all their accessories, booklet, and stand, as they will be in the store. I'll try to weigh the rest of the ones I have later. For it to really work, you'd need to have the weights of all of them, which I won't have. I'm hoping if anyone else has a scale at home, we could compile a complete list, and also verify that my measurements are correct. It's not fool proof, because some do have matching weights, but it will take a lot of the guess work out and leave you with only a few bags that need smooshing. It could be fool proof with a more accurate scale.. Mine only measures to the 10th of a gram.
