  2. With the possibility of moving to NC in the next few months I'm trying my best to slow down on the pile ups lol. I found them because of BP (MinifigW) and bought them all for BPers. Hopefully people are willing to do the same in the future! PayItForward!

  4. Built this during the game last night. Recovered it from a bulk lot. The tail with the sticker was in tact, I'll need to order repro if I want the rest. It's much nicer than I ever thought.

  5. I lost money on some and made some on others. The people who bought 1-5 I lost money (or very close to break even) I sold the majority of them for 42 shipped, if they bought more than 5. I paid roughly 32.XX each after taxes. I charged 45 shipped for under 5. (Was a mistake on my end lol) 45-shipping-materials (boxes, tape, padding, etc) and some areas seemed to be a lot more to ship (I'm still new to the sipping game) same box, same weight, same everything. One was 32 to ship other 20. I didn't get out an excel sheet and crunch the numbers in my head as long as I passed 2,600 I was fine. With 90% of them already bought/shipped I just passed that mark. So really my last order will be profit I guess of a few hundred. Wasn't in it to make money but defiantly wanted something cover the time/energy (do you know how hard it is to juggle 2 shopping carts that are overflowing and need to go over multiple speed bumps!..lol) needless to say I will turn a small profit of a few hundred dollars and that's mainly thanks to the 2 people who bought more than 20! I could have easily made 3-4 what I did but like I've said I did it for the "team" not for myself. Went into that target expecting to buy 8-10...left with a 100!

  13. Hi even though investing in Lego has become more challenging, the potential to build anything your imagination comes up with has never been greater. A while ago I decided I wanted to MOC my own house, recycling some profits from the reselling business in a really fun project. It took me a long time - clearly I lack lots of techniques, but I'm happy to show you the current status. I'm on a building break now before I open up the rooms to add some light bricks I bought from a Dutch specialized website. Once they are up and running, I'll probably post all the interiors too... (everything is 'Modular' - at least I learned something from my PS adventures :-)) Take care. ZULU

Still need to ship out Jay and Deans but won't be able to do it till I get back in town later this week. A lot more work than what I expected but it was a win for BP that day!! Will go down in the history books of BP lore.

  28. Not sure yet. My WO MAN applied for a job in Charlotte so I'm assuming (if she gets it) it will be outside of the city. Looking at potentially buying a brand new home. Soooooo cheap compared to south FL. Here you are lucky to get a decent house built in the 70s (a 3/2 maybe 2,500-3,000 SQFT) for 450-500,000. I'm looking at 6,00O square feet 6/5s brand new for 400,000 with a basement! I really want a basement and turn it into my own personal legoland! Lol... They are offering a really nice moving bonus so that's why we are thinking (if she gets it) to move up that way. We wanted ***,SC, NC so if we get paid to move there I'm all for it. Plus my mom and half of her family is in that area now.

  30. I tend to agree with this. People don't hate the Simpsons, most people aren't interested in the current output and haven't been for years, but at the same time most people can quote early episodes verbatim and there's a Simpsons quote for most situations. It's like the idea that super heroes aren't popular in Europe, it's an over generalisation, they're popular in some areas, not so much in others..

  31. Simpsons is one of the most popular shows in the history of television. In 2011 PBS UK named it the number one US show with the greatest influence on the UK https://goo.gl/rN6LYS . Perhaps it's hated in your circle but it's very popular in the UK and worldwide. I love the Simpsons and have to defend them The house and kwikemart are both great sets.

  33. I had 3 FREE preview tickets ready to go for LAST Saturday. However I also have a not quite 3 year old. At first I was thinking, HEY it's at 10am, that's when little kids go to movies. Then I remembered it was an advance screening and die hard fans would be there. We stayed home, so that we wouldn't ruin the premiere for others. You're welcome bat-nerds.

  37. BrickLink is just a platform. It's good to remember that every store is unique. Each seller has its own threshold for time and effort spent. It's own accessibility to various sets and parts. It's own goals and ambitions. Restaurants are a good analogy. Someone could say 'all restaurants are the same, you pay someone else to cook the food for you and you eat it there.' But surely, not all are created equal. Right now, I'm more of a 5Guys kind of restaurant. I have one main draw (poly bags). If someone orders a hot dog or a coke, that's money in the pocket, but that's not my main clientele. My biggest competitor is the mcDonalds type store. The one that has everything. They sell large quantities at low margins. Have specials like free shipping, coupons, and gwps (happy meals). When they start selling a set I have, my sales/profits drop dramatically. I'm trying to move over into a Carrabbas kind of store. Where I have a variety of premium, unique dishes that draw people in. I'll have appetizers (poly bags) and drinks (loose pieces) they can buy to fill their plate, but really they came for the risotto.

  42. Seriously? I bought them after 2 years out, thinking the retirement would be the year after. Just like the FB... I speculated the set would jump 100E on retirement I was dead wrong. The set never went away and now even my Aunt from Nigeria has 3 for sale. Even though I was lucky on some sets, the cheer number of TB, T1 and PS still sitting in my stock are just hurting my eyes. Lucky me - I managed to avoid the DS pitfall... Anyways - this is my last negative post. From now on - everything IS AWESOME!!!
