I am not sure of your particular issue since you gave zero details, if you have some, send me a PM and I will do what I can to make it better or explain why something is the way it is. If it has to do with stock, you have to realize that its over a 3 hour period now. It used to be much more effective when I had it every hour, but to try and make a few happy, I changed the frequency. I get updates every 20-30 minutes in my inbox so I see lots of stock changes and price changes. Amazon is worse than the stock market, especially this time of the year. They seriously play games. No, I honestly get a ton of feedback on how its helped them land good deals. This thread is called daily deals and it belongs here. As it has been stated, if you don't want to see that one post (i mean it is seriously just one post) then ignore the user. I am not going to create a new thread for one post. I have other features coming related to watching sales, price changes, etc. If that works better for you, then as I said, you can ignore Max profit. Max Profit helps pay the bills on this site, he is not going anywhere. He will continue to improve. All of it takes time.13 points

Well, 2016 is wrapping up... So, as we sail into 2017 and a whole new set of sets are on the way, let's take a look at the retirement sets and what they could bring us in 2017 and beyond. Here's what I speculate. #19 - First Order Snowspeeder - I think this set will double, but it will be a slow double that might take a few years to get there. It's quirky, it was only seen as a background in the movie, and you barely saw the snowtroopers in action. Overall, it sits as one of those sets that will be in a grey area. #18 - Hoth Attack & Droid Escape - in the US these sets had a 9 month shelf life. There really is nothing to either though, and the Han Solo minifigure from the Hoth Attack set was in a polybag a few years back. The snowtrooper, and rebel trooper are also in other sets, so nothing too exclusive here... but Hoth Sets always seem to do well. I expect this one to also double in the future. Droid Escape has the Jawa's.. This is a set you pair with a Sandcrawler. #17 - Sith Infiltrator & Naboo Starfighter - The sith infiltrator has never been a set that has made a lot of profit, and I don't suspect this one will either. On top of that, Darth Maul, and Qui-gon are in an upcoming set, so those figures are going to appear again. I guess, the Watto Minifigure is really the best thing in this one, but Watto is not that iconic of a character. I feel the same way about the Naboo Starfighter. #16 - Hailfire Droid - This set is below average in my opinion. The first Hailfire Droid was far superior. The minifigures on this one aren't really going to boos the value either. This is one that might hit 2x but take forever to sell at that price. #15 - Anakin's Custom Jedi Starfighter - This set doesn't do much for me, but it's one of those quirky sets that some star wars nuts love to own. Sooo... i'd stash a couple just in case. But, I suspect it will have slow resale potential. #14 - Set of Series 3 Microfighters - Microfighters have some juice to them. I recently sold off a series 2 set for almost 2.3 x it's original RRP value. I also have sold series 1 complete sets for quite a good amount of profit. Overall, I still think these little sets have some legs. Selling them in complete sets makes it easier though.. and just how i've done it. #13 Imperial Troop Transport - Rebels set with 4 stormies. Overall, they are unique to the rebels theme, but i'm not sure the Stormtrooper figures themselves will be as in demand. With the Rogue One battlepack containing more troopers, and every advent calendar containing one, I doubt these skyrocket in value. Still could easily get close to 2x. #12 - Geonosis Troopers, Shadow Troopers, and Senate Soldiers - i'm grouping these together. All of these have interesting minifigures, but i'm not sold they will quickly double your money. Overall, good to have a few laying around, but nothing worth having a ton of. #11 - Tie Advanced Prototype - Cool ship, and interesting build.. It's rebels though, and i'm not sure the rebels theme will have long legs. Same can be said about the Imperial Assault Carrier #10 - Obi Wants Interceptor - Anakin's Jedi Interceptor has almost hit 3x... I suspect Obi's interceptor will do a similar. It was around for a lot less time than Anakin's, and I don't think as many copies were produced. #9 - Resistence Troop Transporter - I personally like this set. It's plain jane, but with Carrie Fishers death, this set could very well have some momentum. It also had a relatively short shelf life of a year. Overall, not the most iconic of ships, but it's Leia's ship. #8 - FO Transporter - Captain Phasma, with Flametroopers and FO Stormies will sell this one as EP 8 and 9 approach. I personally like this set out of all the first wave of Force Awakens sets. I know others don't, but I like the minifigures, and absolutely think the ship design itself is fun, quirky, and serves its purpose. My son also plays with this one quite a bit. #7 - Ewok Village - This set has already jumped up in value... To me it's a great set, and just one of the best Star Wars sets any kid would want. It's also stacked with minifigures and has a iconic exclusive Leia figure.. #6 - Battlefront Battlepacks - These sets have some interesting variants, and minifigures. While the builds are nothing great, the minifigures like the Shock Trooper, and some of the rebel alien soldiers could be solid "semi" rare minifigures in the future. I see these easily doubling, if not quadrupling in a few years. #5 - Vaders Tie Advanced vs A-wing Starfighter - What I like most about this is how short its shelflife was. That alone should make it a rarer set in the future. This one is a crap shoot. I think it can go either way... but I think because of that it's worth putting in the top. This is a set that either goes near 4x or hovers near 2. #4 - Death Star Final Duel - Iconic scene from the OT. OT sets are usually solid, and this one has a lot going for it. I think it could do well. It's already jumped out of the gates. #3 - Battle Droid Troop Carrier - Say what you may about the Phantom Menace, but these Droid vehicles are gold as investments. The MTT from 2014 is already 160 on amazon, and this set is it's little sister. I personally, think this was an awesome build, and a great freaking set. It's by far the best troop carrier, and no one was talking about this one. I give this one a real chance to hit 140 in a few years. 3x or bust on this one. #2 - Sandcrawler - Give it time... lots of time, and this set will be the one where you make the most money for little effort. Even if this set doubles, you make hundreds on it by just having to go to ship a set once. Not bad. #1 - Imperial Shuttle Tydirium - This is by far the best set that retired, IMO. The minfigures are great, and I really like this set and think it will perform very well over time. I also don't see them making this one again in a long time.7 points

I see lots of room to work with in this picture. The Christmas tree can be easily replaced by a tower of one dozen Pet Shops (you can even attach strings of Christmas lights to the boxes with easy to remove masking tape). The sofa can be replaced by seat-height Death Stars in their reinforced Lego factory cases. And obviously baseplates can serve the same purpose as the rug, with the added benefit that they're easier to clean. The kids I'm sure would have just as much fun parting out bulk orders of SW battle packs for sale on BrickLink...6 points

Basement only has so much room. Mind you I could move a couple of the kids in together and use one or two of the bedrooms....... Barnes and Noble has 15% off 50.00 or more. Checking lego now.? Well I am old and myopic but all I can see now is the White House for this deal. Anyone else check? And on a separate note, my family is enjoying a super fun NYE free building with the kabillion pieces combined from many many many sets5 points

we sometimes put deals here that can lego related. it's to benefit our community. e.g. a small but strong table for lego displays. a $7 black table (that isn't an eye sore) that holds at least 22lbs of Lego is worth considering.4 points

An updated Brick Classifieds that will be part of the Brickpicker site will soon be released. Then you can just sell all you want. It is coming out pretty good and very simple to use.4 points

I think this is the best polybag I've seen in a long time. Brick-built R2-D2. I want it! I need it! http://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-star-wars-brick-built-r2-d2-30611-polybag-found/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+LegoEverlasting-LegoReviewsNews+(The+Brick+Fan+-+LEGO+Reviews+%26+News) or http://minifigpriceguide.com/wordpress/lego-r2-d2-30611-minifigure-polybag-to-be-given-away-in-february-or-march-possibly/3 points

Not quite what you meant, but I worked up a modified LDD version of the UCS Tie Interceptor MOC that went around a couple months back. Mine works with the detachable wing design from the UCS Tie. My goal this month is to actually build it and make an instruction set. The BrickLink parts list isn't cheap and I last left off trying to hone down the part/cost. If I meet my goal maybe I'll have something worth sharing by Jan end. https://www.dropbox.com/s/izh07hq4h6rfwia/Tie%20Interceptor%20Exploded%20View.mov?dl=02 points

Report those guys! There's a report link in the item description of every listing, on the right side of the page. If a counterfeit seller uses the word "Lego" in the title, you can report him for Listing practices > Search and browse manipulation > Misuse of brand name. More generally, there's no need to worry about this stuff as a buyer. If a seller ships you a counterfeit minifigure, you can file a claim under eBay's money back guarantee program. In the case of counterfeits, eBay will not even require you to return the item to the seller. You'll get a full refund of your payment and the seller will get a serious demerit. The right thing to do at that point is of course to burn the counterfeit minifigure for heat. These Winter nights are cold.2 points

I didn't see it posted and I figure enough people watch slickdeals, but bestbuy has dimensions for 4.79, 9.99, 11.99, and 19.99 with gamers club which are pretty much the cheapest you find them for. Fantastic beasts story pack is definitely cheapest it has been.1 point

Boxes the bane of every lego sellers life, how about sending off a petition to Lego SAH Highlighting our plight and asking for more regulated box sizes or maybe not. Cardboard boxes are taking up nearly as much space as my Lego inventory and I still have to go looking For more boxes. Give us a break Lego SAH.1 point

Opportunity then to pick this up for 20% off when Smyths do their sale. At £329, I'd probably bite, but just for the personal build.1 point

To add a couple ideas to Sandwraith's comments... When starting out, I found the advice that it's a good idea to first guide yourself to sets you like was useful. Look at sets you think are entertaining and would like to build yourself... Then do your quick research on the set, like checking sold listings on ebay, and 6 month selling average (quantities and prices) over on Bricklink to gauge your investment's potential. Then, even if it doesn't perform as well as you'd like, you can always just build it for personal enjoyment. Next thing is to find the best discount you can, as buy-in is everything in this game. However, by weighing the results from your research, you can decide what profit margin, and therefore what percentage discount is acceptable for a given set. For example, I'm currently buying in to Scooby and Jurassic at 20% off, but I'm only grabbing City at 50%. Also, if you've never sold before, you need to figure out your selling price before all the transaction fees are factored in. $60 sales for a $33.50 purchase looks really nice on paper, but once you factor everything in you're not making a ton on that transaction. In regards to how long to hold for, I find the best approach is to have a realistic selling price in mind before you purchase the set (based on your previous research). Once retirement and appreciation starts, you ride it as long as it takes to hit your magic number, then start selling them to keep your funds rolling. If you see they're trending up steeply you adjust the rate you're selling at to maximize profits, but keeping in mind anything over your magic number is gravy.1 point

How long should you wait? Really just depends on the return you want, i'd probably wait a few months and monitor it's progress. Worst case scenario you will probably make a bit on it if you have to sell though. I'm personally not sure what the lure of this set is/will be, and am still debating if i should pick some up. As for other sets to pick up right now.. Take a look at local Canadian Tires and see what you can find at %20 off. Scooby Doo sets are heading out the door, Mystery Machine and Mystery Mansion would be good choices, as would some of the Jurassic World sets. A good pickup right now would probably be Obi-Wan's Jedi Interceptor if you can find any. Anyways just a few tips, there is lots of advice on this stuff in other threads.1 point

As long as the minifigure is in good condition with no marks / cuts / loss of colour or markings etc I would buy it in assembled used condition. I personally would never spend over £20 for a single minifigure as I've never really been into them.1 point

Latest UCS Star Wars Build. I knew that the Imperial Shuttle was huge but still taken aback by the size of it. Side by side comparison with Vader's Tie and the AT-ST, and it dwarfs over them.1 point
