  1. You can always drive this into the TRU parking lot and starting selling out the back of it. BTW, I saw Walmart has the TRU Dr Who Price of $38.99 as well.
  2. For Amazon 10 returns gets your account flagged. After that any returns will get your account manually reviewed and they will tally up your activity and if you are a net money loser you will get one warning. Any return or concession asked for after that warning and you and everyone in your household / shipping addresses/ same IP are banned for life. If you are a net profit maker then you stay on until the next manual review. They limit purchases per household per week so you won't get banned ordering those limits. If you create multiple accounts to skirt the limits you will get one warning. Again if you keep skirting after the warning it is banned for life time. You really don't want to get banned from Amazon as they are almost impossible to find a workaround and in the future they are most likely to be supplying a significant chunk of your consumables. Lego ban is easy to get around but not really worth the hassle as their prices are awful. Lego just stings because alot of bricklinkers and LUGs got banned so they really hurt the brand and goodwill.
  3. Just sold 6 Juniors Pirate Treasure Hunt 10679 on ebay. 4@$30 1@$36 1@$42 Bought for $5 on Walmart clearance, probably left another 6-10 on the shelf. If you got em, sell em.
  4. Guys you are about 12 hours late lol
  5. I got lucky and picked this up in an EBay auction for $12 plus $10 shipping. All the minifigs are there except for one skeleton crystal head dude. Less than 10 pieces missing and they will be picked up soon with some other stuff on Bricklink. I already have this set loose, but didn't have a box.
  6. $130 new ferries wheel, can't beat that!

  11. Looks like the cafe corner made a special guest appearance in tonight's Lego Frozen Northern Lights episode on the Disney channel...
  12. If you buy loads of diapers and wipes, it totally throws them off.
  13. Almost identical price as October. Amazon, gonna have to try a little harder.
  14. Good call. I'll probably use that strategy next time.
  15. Yes. 50 @ $149 and another 50 @ $119. Can't wait to get my next 50 @ $89
  16. I've talked about this set up a lot lately, since I discovered it a couple months back. It's what I plan to use as I'm setting up my villages/fairgrounds. I'm still collecting parts right now. I'm guessing you heard about it from me, so I'll confirm what you're describing is the MILS Plate method that@brickcrazyhouse linked to above.
  17. Honestly, it's a boring train and I don't like the trains with the large panels for the front and back end. You really need 2 carriages for it $83 is a great price because you can take all of the power functions out and put them into a different train (any train) and subsequently get rid of the passenger train and buy something better like the Horizon Express which is far superior and heavier as well.
  18. He wears unicorn PJs to TRU. They feel sorry for him so they let him stack.

Yeah, well I can get dog **** stuck to my boot heel for free, but that doesn't make it a good idea.
  22. Yeah, I'm thinking these aren't gonna get any lower & for some of these this may be the end of them. It needs a partner. [emoji6]
  23. Bought this used. Took it apart to clean and rebuilt it. Tedious task with mainly small pieces. Hard to believe this set has over 2000 pieces.
  24. Here's a few pics of it all spread out. Gbhq wasn't fully built yet, still have a lot of sealed bags. No instructions.

I have 17 of these. Most were purchased back when exclusives didn't get discounted, so... yeah. I paid too much. Anyway, that was also back when the most recent retiring SW exclusives were SSD and R2. Oh happy days. Now the most recent retiring SW exclusive is Red 5, which can't break 40% over MSRP on eBay. Ewok Village is similarly overpriced on a per-piece basis ($250 MSRP for ~2000 pcs), and rather than being one of the most iconic SW ships, it's a (spoiler alert) Ewok Village. I'm guessing the target market for these post-retirement is rich kids (as in kids rather than adults). None of my adult SW fan friends give a damn about ewoks. Or Care Bears, or My Little Pony. My hope for this set is essentially that it hit $300 in a few months so I can unload the bulk of mine without taking a loss. SW playsets do not historically do very well relative to vehicles, and ewoks are in a class by themselves. The closest equivalent I can think of would be the Battle of Endor (#8038), the price appreciation of which does not impress.

For any new polybags that come out and are worth more than 10€, I'd say sell them ASAP especially Star Wars. Both First Order General and A-Wing Pilot did pretty good for a while and then dropped like a rock once widely released. I mean look at the bricklink prices. A-Wing Pilot above, First Order General below.

  28. After 5 separate purchases using the 10 off 75, TRUST, and discounted 20% off Staples Gift Cards, here is my modest haul (before 8.625 NY Taxes) 2 x Trevi Fountains $21.23 each 3x Hulk Busters $15.74 each 2 x Mystery Mansions $34.60 each 2 x Lego Maze $48.34 each (wish I could have bought in lower but I wanted one for myself and one to keep in case it skyrockets due to short shelf life) 2 x Doctor Who $25.59 each i wanted to find some and Wall-Es for the 15% and TRUST and gift cards but everyone was out of them (even though stores showed they had stock). I left some Tie Advanced vs A Wings because I'm a little worried that the new A-Wing will eat into it

One difference between 60051 and previous train iterations is the inclusion of a level crossing. Level crossings are one of those irrational Lego setups. The primary parts are relatively common, e.g. http://brickset.com/parts/4211819, but sets with them tend to out-perform the average, see 7936. So while the train itself is not spectacular, the set may do better than previous iterations. I'm curious to see where this one ends up, although I have none stored away myself.
  30. time to hit up the local stop and shop and clear these off the shelf at MSRP. Juniors wins again.
  31. got a mystery mansion and a Geoffrey still can't decide what's scarier?
  32. No surprise as yesterday around 5:30 pm in my store there was about a dozen people ravaging what was left. What I liked about this sale, unlike the Amazon sale, is is a lot of what was sold in store went straight to the end users instead of reseller scum, so less competition for all that was bought across the board.
  33. Ordered x2. Thanks! Considering order 2x Changing seasons.
  34. You can still order Doctor Who on sale from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Ideas-Doctor-21304-Building/dp/B00ZSJMBHS

Hey, it was a loooooooooong day. FLL preparations, making 3 presentation boards, working on some final robot missions, then teaching 2 classes and racing to the Friday night judging sessions to make sure all 9 kids behave and do well. Tomorrow 8am-4pm robot competition. Didn't sleep much the last few nights. Poop happens.

I sure hope you can get a 1lb 1oz package under 16.0 lbs.

There's quite a bit of flap-cutting you can do to get it to go under 16.0 lbs Believe me, I've done it.
  38. if I lose Lego FBA selling rights, I'm absolutely positively screwed.

  41. The bad news - I just woke up. The good news - these sets will be cleared out of TRU's inventory now rather than sitting on their shelves at 15% above RRP for two years.
  42. It's hands down one of my fav lego sets ever. I think it's beautiful and iconic and they will never make anything like it again. Does that mean they'll never make ewok's again or small sets with villages, who knows, but it won't be anything like this. Saying it has no demand is inaccurate and even if it's not a huge seller, since when is that a bad thing. Sometimes those are the sets that do the best. It will take time, but this is a gem of a set.
  43. One thing to remember with TRU...they do have a reseller algorithm that will impose a hard ban if you place too many orders. I have no idea what the threshold is, but I got bit by it last year after placing 7 sequential orders on the SW Coruscant Gunship.
  44. And where do the people you sell to offload their inventory??? Thin air? You Sir are part of the problem!
