  1. Hey guys, I have just finished another build, which I would love to share with you all. I call this 'Jabba's PIzza Hutt' Jabba's Pizza Hutt by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr For a change this is not related to any scene or landscape from the Star Wars saga but rather a bit of fun I was having with my newly acquired Jabba figure. I had quite a bit of fun with this, like the Emperor's order being number 66... Jabba's Pizza Hutt by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr Jabba's tail being too big for his own restaurant! Jabba's Pizza Hutt by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr Han in Carbonite being used a fridge in the back with Slave Leia chained up and being made to work the tills and a stormtrooper in chef's overalls in the kitchen. Jabba's Pizza Hutt by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr My favourite part has to be Grandpa Darth treating his little grandson Kylo to a pizza, just look at how happy Kylo looks! Jabba's Pizza Hutt by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr Anyway, this was just a bit of fun, hope you like! Jabba's Pizza Hutt by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr Rouge one micro landscape and a recreation of an iconic teaser poster coming soon!

  4. I'm in Nashville Tennessee for a vacation with my wife and kids this week. Stopped at a little museum/memorabilia collection of the 1980's show Dukes of Hazard. I use to watch it as a kid, although all I really remember from it is the car and how the guys always entered it by jumping through the windows. So as I was looking at all the stuff, I spotted two Lego items. A model of the car, and a large mosaic of Daisy Duke.

  12. Pretty underwhelming. Even the ship doesn't seem to have too much real Technic functionality, more display than anything else (though I like the B model as I see many go by on the Ohio river during the day). RC Tracked Racer is relatively speaking the best one of the bunch, with 2 M motors and the PF components making up the bulk of the set. Nothing I want to buy so good for my wallet.

  22. While everyone is bickering over how to run a fair election in the non-LEGO daily discussion thread, here's a fair deal: https://www.humblebundle.com/books/lego-book-bundle (from Brickset.com). Pay as much as you like to get LEGO ebooks. 4 books, plus another 4 if you pay at least $8, plus another 7 if you pay at least $15. Plus support a good cause. Runs for the next 2 weeks. I just got my 15 books.

  25. What a hodge podge of parts... I think my favorite of the bunch is the combined pull back racer semi truck. Kind of "Total Recall" style (original movie). I don't mind the container yard but would it have killed them to put 4 tires on the chassis? Yeesh. The ship will do OK but that little roadwork crew is downright awful.

  26. My son has his collection (plus CCBS SW figs) standing in a nice layout in the corner of his room (minus a few ones from the first wave(s) that are in a big box in the basement next to the LEGO tables). Looks quite good.

  28. The big Nexo sets are all at least 40% here and you can find further discounts on top of that to maybe pay a third of RRP. That´s super value for the 2 fortresses and you would think the part out value would be good too. Surely there has to be a CHI Lion Temple in their somwehere but for every golden nugget you are going to have at least 3 turds unless you make an inspired choice. They just don´t have the mass appeal of Friends or Minecraft and one wonders how this theme will be remembered in 3 or 4 years.

  37. Darn it. I hate to think that I'm personally responsible for such an appalling theme. At least it sounds like an honest misunderstanding. I said, "make more big, complex classic castle and pirate sets with lots of small pieces" and Lego heard, "release a line of Lego/Duplo hybrid Jetsons-themed monstrosities with giant clunky pieces in day-glow colors." I really need to learn to communicate more clearly.

  38. Well... Most sets generally have a bad track record. But the UCS Imperial Shuttle and Diagon Alley both got the retiring soon label and did well. More recently, even the (imho) toylike and uninspiring EEE got the retiring soon label, got its quantity limit jacked up to 5 from 1 (big red flag there!), and still did alright post-retirement, tying Tumbler on after-fees profit off a smaller investment and box size, and beating the pants of Tower of Orthanc. I really don't think you can generalize off the retiring soon label alone. Let's just say Pet Shop will definitely underperform GE, which underperformed FB, and so forth. If you can find an investment now that looks as promising as Lego did three or four years ago, by all means choose that over any of this year's retiring lego sets. Re: Nexo Knights. This theme is a seriously bad sign. How Lego decided this was a good call is beyond me. They haven't screwed up this badly since Galidor. Even Galaxy Squad sets looked cool. I mean, they sold terribly but they really didn't look half bad. If I had still been 10 years old, I would have wanted all of them. But Nexo Knights? Stupid, ugly, blocky, waste of plastic. Shame on you Lego.

  40. At this time of the year, there's a supermarket chain that does 50% off in toys. One pays full price and 50% of the amount paid is credited on the supermarket's client card. I almost didn't went because it opened early and I thought I wouldn't find anything worth my time and waking up early. Guess what? I found 5 Ant-Man sets among other left-over sets! There was a limit on 3 of the same toy so I went home to get my GF client card and when I came back one of the sets was gone. Bought 4! What a lucky find.
