8275 Motorized Bulldozer. I actually started this set a while back, but half way through i realised that the set was missing afew pieces, so I had to bricklink the missing parts. Advice for people who plan to build the set, pay real attention to the placement of the power functions cables, i didn't follow the instructions 100% and realised after i built the set that the PF cables get caught on some of the gears and this results in the front part not moving up correctly.6 points

I don't think many people are buying at Lego Shop @ Home for 2xVIP month this year, when compared to last year at this time. Hardly any sets are heading into backordered status, and I suspect we are going to see a very slow phase out of sets. This is making things harder to gauge what will actually retire. Other than Slave 1, most of the other exclusives just hang around. We have entered a new era - that much is obvious.3 points

You can say about this set what you want, but this video is pretty neat.3 points

Disney Castle showing in stock at LEGO Shop at Home. I tried to add to cart but it wouldn't let me. Said to call CS. I called and they were able to submit an order for me. CS rep said reason it won't add to cart is because it is going in and out of stock sporadically. Double VIP + Mini Advent + good xmas flip item = time to buy a few. I'm not pushing my luck by ordering multiples at the same time so I'll try for another tomorrow if it still shows as available.2 points

Did you build a bat-tank? Today I finished my Ghostbusters building. From the Ideas set I only built the Ecto 1. That's because I think about selling the minifigures as I plan on getting the Firehouse Headquarters at some point. Then, the minifigures would be redundant. The abundance of silver/metallic pieces used in the Ideas version is a nice touch. Also, no stickers to be seen! The last build was the new Ecto 1 & 2 set. On the plus side, it has functioning doors and seats for the whole Ghostbusters team. I could do without the stickers though. The new hairpieces are cool. Both Ectos are nice builds and look cool but they seem to be rather large compared to the figures. Finally, a shot with both Ectos next to each other:2 points

I drove past a garage sale a couple months back and I saw one of those Lego storage towers sticking up in the back. I took a shot and checked it out and sure enough all five storage drawers were filled. I asked if they had any more and the lady brought over an opened Helms Deep box. Inside was a partially disassembled Helms Deep and a couple other LotR sets. Ended up buying all of it for $25. I left my number and said if she finds anymore just call. Well not even 15min after I left she called and said she found two totes full. Went back and sure enough two big totes full. I noticed that there were about 30 unopened bags inside of it. Seems like her kid would only open the bags with the minifigs in them and just leave the rest sealed. Crazy. .....oh yeah the two bins were only another $25.2 points

Depends on your buy-in. At 40% off, probably not, at 10% off, probably too many.2 points

Build some stuff from LEGO Dimensions today. I started with Adventure Time level pack and Harry Potter team pack. Lord Voldemort is absent as he won't be staying in this household. The next build was the Ghostbusters story pack. This was the first time that I encountered stickers in a Dimensions set: What a bummer! I had hoped that they would print all those pieces but besides the minifigure only 3 pieces were printed, e.g. the small Ghostbusters sign. I don't really mind smaller stickers that are easy to apply but those big transparent stickers were a real pain. Due to dust particles and a bubble they now don't look the best upon closer inspection. Another issue is the sticker for the Ghostbusters sign which isn't opaque enough to look white on a black background. Up next are more Ghostbuster builds. Hopefully I can finish those tomoroow.2 points

Don't worry. Exclusives don't go for 3x MSRP any more. If SSD and TH haven't made it yet nobody else stands a chance.2 points

I'm sure the apparent easing of the no discount policy on exclusives has had an affect on direct sales. Double VIP and a promo used to be about the best value for exclusives but I think many are making their purchases elsewhere with a 10-20% discount or better up front.1 point

It´s luck. The link on coupons pages did not work but it appeared in my shopping basket this morning. Might have something to with me not actual confirming the purchase and they want to push me as I have been using it to compare exchange rates! If you don´t validate the Amazon promo link first, you won´t get the offer when you buy a gift voucher.1 point

Is what you have sealed in bags still bundled together by set, or do you have large tubs of random sealed bags with no info on which set they came from? Especially for retired sets, you can get good money for sets that are sealed bag, no box (do you have instructions?). That requires you to be able to identify which bags come from which set, which would be difficult in the scenario where all bags have been mixed up. (There are unboxing videos/articles that you can use to identify bags from sets but there's quite some effort involved in this exercise).1 point

Go to Catalog->Price Guide, type in the set number in the "Parts" section and there you go. Alternatively, for better control, download BrickStock and do Ctrl-I-I, enter the set number (including "-1" at the end) and once loaded, do Ctrl-A Ctrl-G to get the current prices.1 point

Only one store in my area had them for $19, all others are still at $79 if they still have them. They went from $79 to $40 and I was able to get one at $40. After I bought it the app showed "out of stock" then stopped showing on the app at all for that location. Fast forward several weeks and it showed in stock at $19, I thought I'd check since they had other sets on clearance I was interested in, like the pop star bus for $15, and sure enough they had more in stock. I was surprised to find any. Moral of the story: check early and check often...1 point

Last Tuesday there was a post in this thread about that set being available again for RRP directly from Amazon despite long being retired. Yesterday I received the parcel from Amazon containing that set only to find out that it had been resealed by someone else. The whole set was missing with the exception being 2 parts of the building instructions. Instead there were several open and even a seled bag inside, and I could identify parts from Scarecrows Harvest of Fear and Web Warriors Ultimate Bridge Battle. It was a total letdown.1 point

I am always willing to show members my office at work. It's filled with glued Lepin sets. If someone lives in NJ or the Philly suburbs, feel free to reach out. My house is a damn mess. Looks like a hoarder's house in the basement. Sad.1 point

And be available for $9.99 in about 9 months from now. Made the rookie mistake (just coming out of my dark ages and really digging those minibuilds) to buy all 8 2014+2015 bricktobers for RRP .... luckily to display and build, not to resell, but still, I like my sets to gain in value, even the built ones.1 point

Couple of recent builds. Claas Xerion was a great build apart from me missing a cog from the gearbox and having to tear it half apart again. At £80 it was probably the best value set I've built in a while in terms of build time and enjoyment. New RO At-St next to its big brother. I can see a lot of these being sold as they'll be coveted by OT AFOL's aswell as kids. Finally I gave one of the architecture skyline sets a shot. See what i thought of them and if they'll be worth investment. I just can't see how these will catch on. The buildings are so small to show any details. I love the normal architecture sets, I'm amazed how they can create detail at small scale but these skylines are simply too small, I can't see many people posting over the odds for a complete set.1 point

More of a "what did you build the past month or so", but i've enjoyed some great builds here at the end of summer / beginning of fall. I'm late to the Modular game, but after building the PR awhile back I caught the bug and really enjoyed the Pet Shop build. I agree with a statement someone made somewhere on the forums - everyone should have one of these. I missed out on the snow speeder when it was sold at retail but managed to snag a used one off of eBay for about $25 after I sold off the rest of the lot. So much nostalgia with it! I know this isn't anything new, but this was my first Hoth set - I was so close to rushing out to buy an AOH except for the obvious: no AT-AT available at non Brickpicker prices. Such a missed opportunity for LEGO... That said, the IST brought redemption... Wow, awesome! Love it! I bought it off Amazon early this year back when I thought 17% off was a "good deal" (thanks BP community for setting me straight on that one), and even though I'd have loved it for cheaper, it was still well with the money. Lots of great thoughts on this board about the future of LEGO (and of course investing), but these three builds have reminded me of how much I love building with LEGO.1 point

I have spent most of this year looking to replace my 10182 Cafe Corner and I lucked into an auction last week where I picked one up with instructions. I built it today and I was impressed that this person took great care to separate all of the pieces by color in individual bags. It's in excellent condition aside from the 4 missing 1x1 round plates for the roof. The Ghost Train patrols my hotel, it is haunted after all.1 point

Built the UCS Tie the last couple nights... I have to say, what a fantastically repetitive build. My fingers are sore, the instructions were hard to read, but who ever designed this thing did an awesome job. Solid, detailed, HUGE but seemingly in scale with the Xwing. One complaint... Stickers. Why oh why do they make complicated stickers? I think I got them on OK but that stupid little red down arrow sticker might have been the WORST placed sticker ever. Makes the Maersk stickers seem easy.1 point

I've never seen a Harry Potter movie. But happened upon a bulk lot with 4842 in it back in 2014. I really enjoyed the build. I thought it was well up together.1 point
