    Too late I already started
  2. Check your Targets, several showing remaining Jurassic World sets 50-70% off. My wife begrudgingly scooped up an Indominus Rex 75919 for $38.98.
  3. Well if it does a tumbler it’ll go to 1.4 RRP overnight and those of us that have many at 0.7 RRP or less will be laughing.
  4. Anytime before the Xmas rush and I'll be a happy man!!

  6. At least Daleks can hit their targets most of the time. Wait... what thread was this?
  7. Sorry, but Doctor Who ran from 1963-89, and now again since 2005. Arguing that Doctor Who is "just a TV show" is silly. There's a huge cult following, and guys like me who remember Tom Baker as the Doctor (from the 70s-early 80s), simply had to buy this set on sight. My stepson's high school has a Doctor Who club. We have a student at school who regularly wears her Tardis dress. If "you" don't get it, fine, but DW isn't really to be dismissed. This is right up there with those who want to argue the Mystery Machine isn't going anywhere because Scooby Doo is "just a TV cartoon." Oh well... don't buy this set. Don't buy any at all.
  8. Meijer : looking at some serious stacking this weekend : 5 off 25$ SW 10% off toys 15% off GM 10$ off $50 toys 7$ back on 60$ in toys . 10$ back 225$ GM
  9. To be fair, they were told not to shoot the escape pod because there was no life sign in it... ... which did not make sense in a world full of droids. Darn it, I tried to apply logic in SW universe again
  10. In that case, Doctor Who has 5,274,812 likes to BTTF's 4,268,230. We are all just shouting in the darkness. We love time travel shows because we can't time travel (except for the slow, plodding way we do every day.) No one knows how well the Doctor Who will perform after retirement... not without a real Tardis or Delorean, that is. (For the record, the highest number of likes on Facebook for a Ghostbusters page is 3,096,801--and we see how the Ecto-1 has sold. Not sure Facebook is the best indicator of sales or popularity overall.)
  11. Come to the US this holiday season and fill your suitcase full of these. It might pay for your trip out here:)
  12. Biggest set I've ever built. I was not a fan of no bag numbers but I'm happy with the finished product! Starting Big Ben now (as you can see)
  13. I built the Doctor Who set for my own collection and I'm not even a big Doctor Who fan! But it's a really nice set and it looks excellent on display. Nice minifigs as well. Ideas sets are usually not sold at retail stores in The Netherlands, so they've hardly seen any discount here. Average sale price on Marktplaats is between 55 and 65 Euro.
  14. So, as long as we buy the sets that are worthy of cloning, and avoid the sets that get cloned - we should all be great!
  15. Eerste Hollandsche Levensverzekeringsbank (First Dutch Life Insurance Company)
  16. This does make me laugh. The first decent set to retire since Xmas and were turning this thread in to a democracy regards why we shouldn't invest, short shelf life = not popular so avoid, long shelf life = don't invest massively horded!!! There's no pleasing some people. At least Lego have actually retired something, be grateful for that!! It's a good set, with a big fan base, and at a low buy in can easily achieve 2 x RRP.
  17. I have the same problem.
  18. If the Doctor Who thread is to believed nobody knows who he is, so you're wasting a meme
  19. Source? This isn't science either, but Doctor Who's Wikipedia page has 3 x the word count of BTTF.
  20. With this strategy, some members have to seriously consider another career direction.
  21. Not to bring us around to the normal threads where all topics go to die, but it's just a market correction. People who got in thinking there was quick, easy money to be made are now getting scared that their golden bricks might not be as golden as they were told. Let them clear out for little or no gain (many of them will be dumping exclusives this Christmas), while those with patience just have to wait a little longer. It seems like recent exclusives and other hoarded sets might just take a little more time to ripen than was expected. Don't be sad. Be glad they aren't true competitors who are in it for the long haul. That would be far more damning.
  22. LOL.......that would take awhile to consume...i mean use =)
  23. Maybe he has a wider stance in the US, that's why only 2 boxes fit there, while it's 3 in Europe. Maybe he is in "election mode" in the US.
  24. Fair point, but anyone who thinks Lego is going to start producing more Dr Who sets at this stage, after it's been readily available at discount at several different retailers, is barking up the wrong tree.
  25. There will always be folks selling their souls to the devil only for getting other people's attention.
  26. Warming up for 2xVIP?
  27. Sorry for x-posting... BOGO Free LEGO Dimensions fun packs deal is now live at Target.com
  28. This is very hard issue for non-UK investors. I dont know anybody in my country, who is a fan of this serie, and I havent noticed this serie in our TV. Its far from legendary movies or TV series such as Ghostbusters, BTTF, Knight rider, James Bond, etc. Even the story of Dr. Who is strange for me (maybe its special British humor). So its very hard to decide, whether to buy some pieces as investment or not. I can imagine that future UK demand will be strongly covered by local investors, so I can compete just in other markets. But hard to predict, how many AFOLs will want this set. Is here a non-UK or non-US fan of this serie? Ideas is a very complicated theme for investments... Every set is completely different, for different fans, and it is not a serie of compact sets fitting each other, as modulars. Some of them exploded after EOL, some are a trap (exosuit). Plus, the production life of the sets is a mass - some are living 1 year, some 2 years, some are neverending (Ecto). I remember buying the Birds for 20 % above MRSP after immediate EOL in Europe, while in USA it was alive for another year, which ruined my investment... So I am extremly careful in Ideas investments...
  29. Lego has slung around the same polys really bad this year. Between nexo ninjago cap olaf and now kylo they crushed most of them. Winner of year by far has to be symbiote but not convinced we won't see it again.
  30. I sold the last of my FO generals. Days after its TRU debut.@Exciter1 said dump, so I dumped. Maybe a lot of people didn't know he was around? Bulk orders at $10 a piece, and a single for $12. Also sold six TC-14s for $33 each. TC-4 for $13 A few A wing pilots for $12 each And 20x Cpt America Polys for $4.75 each.
  31. Here u go, take 2 at bedtime . As for your other issue u need a doctor for anything below 50%.
  32. Undercutting leads to more undercutting. More undercutting leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. Suffering leads to...I don't know where I'm going with this.

Yeah I was there at just the right time. They were stocking the shelves and I was dumbstruck when I saw 4 of them sitting right on the shelf so I grabbed one and went right up to the cs desk and amazingly I was able to buy it. After I bought it I went back to double check if anything else was there and they were already pulled off the shelves haha.

I consider myself a WalMart connoisseur, so I can confidently say that WalMart doesn't really care about looking bad; especially if it's comparing itself to it's patrons.

  40. I agree, but I think they would have had higher priorities than ToO - OT star wars sets like Red 5, Taj, Eiffel and a few other spring to mind.
  41. In my mind zombie cheerleader was the clear choice.
  42. The Wolf Guy being popular boggles my mind. I passed over so many when I was smooshing back then.

bogo not marked in store but worked at checkout. A Team was in stock despite the website saying none were available for 100 miles.
  44. As staded in the 'Retiring soon' topic, this one has been labeled with the 'Retiring soon' Tag in Lego LEGO Shop at Home. Looks like they had a one year license?
