Sorry, but no way Scooby Doo performs as poorly as Lone Ranger. No. Flipping. Way. BUT if it does, I can still build a life-size Mystery Machine for my son. Win/win.6 points

took the last 4 months off from selling. priced it right and boom. all sold in a day. clearing out the small Super Heroes rubbish and freebies. all FBM including shipping fee. Gingerbread House x 3 - 49.99 each Spidercycle Chase 76004 - $33.50 each x 4 Ironman Seaport Battle - $31.50 x 1 - only one i have of this one - good riddance. Batman Riddler chase - $44.99 x2 - two left. not terrible performance given the cheap buyins for the Cycle chase and ironman sets but still thought they would get to at least $40 by now. probably need to switch to FBA but that will be next year's project. now that is the next frontier for brickvesting - bartering/swapping for other goods and services. i'm trying to figure out how many chickens i could get for a Grand Emporium.4 points

You guys are learning, good job! Someone will ruin it for you, but good job nonetheless. The Duel is lame, but now I'm not worried about The Phantom 75048. Looks like it's getting some unneeded changes in "Rebels". Yoda's Interceptor also appears to be a new "Rebels" design.3 points

So why is kmart struggling? Could it be the practice of shipping one set (ordered about 10 sets over past couple days from them) on an order placed a couple days ago with free shipping selected. No packing at all. Thankfully only minimal damage to a corner. Win for me this time, but we all lose if they go out of business.3 points

Man I always like your thoughtful posts, but I need a dislike button today. Just because you only like technic sets these days that's no reason to bag on my Creator 3-in-1 sets. I think for $30 to $80 price points, most of them are outstanding. At any rate, I'd hardly call them "turds"2 points

Lots of Scooby left at Walmart, TRU, Kmart, and Lego Stores near me. It might be a regional thing then. Still, I'd only buy at 50% off or greater.2 points

Us too, more Jurassic World left here and Scooby is gone.2 points

40% off. It says only fun packs and I think the only new one is the A-Team, hopefully it works online for the preorders for the next wave, that way you could pick up E.T. and Fantastic Beasts since they weren't included in the 40% off.2 points

My experience is that it pays off to make the same shopping cart at all 3 sites (SYW.com, Sears.com and KMart.com) and see which one gives the best combination of coupons. Seriously.2 points

GC for Chapters Indigo on sale for 20% off from Sept 23 - Oct 6 at Rexall and Superstore (west). They have a few sets already on sale so stacking the 20% of with the sale price, e-b-a-t-e-s, plum rewards, etc might make some sets worth while. If you spot anything worth while let me know... still lurking to see if I am going to pull the trigger on anything but their site is kind of awkward to use.1 point

I saw that popping up a few weeks ago and thought - wow, there must be a redneck alternate reality somewhere where Amazon and Google are replaced with KMart and Sears (Apologies if that describes your neck of the woods, @exciter1 .... ) BTW: Already 40% off now - and they give you this product virtually for free with the $30 in points you'll be earning. a NO BRAINER1 point

One observation: You acquired "undesirables" in Jul/Aug. It is now end September. Only 2-3 months have passed. You are a rookie seller. What made you expect to sell these that fast, even if they would have been "desirables"? To sell fast you either need to be an experienced seller with a known store/reputation and lots of followers, or seriously undercut everyone, including retail channels still carrying the products you just acquired (AFAIK nothing from the WM clearance has officially been Retired yet by TLG, though I did not follow this actively) and get a low amount of profit (or even potentially rack up a small loss). Even if you undercut, you still need to hope that people come to your venue (EBay or Amazon) instead of just going to a normal retail store. Unless you bought these sets with money you cannot miss (in which case please stop doing this), just ride it out. Wait for the right season. Wait till demand picks up. Wait until the set is properly retired. Case in point: When I started last year I got all excited because I found a 31033 Vehicle Transported at Target for $10 (RRP $25). Was the biggest discount I found at retail so far at that time. Listed it for months but nobody bought it, simply because of the points above and the fact that this set is still available at retail. I just created a permanent listing for it on BrickLink and moved on, will likely list it again on Amazon for the holidays. It will sell at some point.1 point

I would use Craigslist for local sales so you don't have to pay fees or deal with disputes. I'm going to disagree with going ahead and shipping the item. While we want to provide good service, we can't enable all these buyers that don't read listings. You shouldn't be out any additional money because the other guys lacks the ability to correctly read an eBay listing. It should be on him to pick up the item or cancel if he can't.1 point
-
He's not picking it up, right? That's on him, not you. Cancel with "problem with buyers address or buyer wants to cancel" if he doesn't want to pick it up.1 point

Same here, which I don't mind the no box trash bags but the Super Heroes set was bagged and it looked like the whole time the heavy trash bags were sitting on top flattening it. I do mind the bags vs. boxes for these...1 point

2x JW IRB at Wal-Mart for $30 a piece. This particular Wal-Mart puts out empty boxes with the "See associate for help with Lego products" sign for the large sets. This so far has worked in my favor as they usually don't sell, even on clearance because no (normal) person feels like waiting 20 minutes for the associate to go find the manager with the key to find the locker with the set. Just made it home in time for the Survivor season premiere.1 point

Behind that final duel I see an inappropriate picture. How do we flag this and get the person banned for life?1 point
