  2. I am not buying any , I no my theory is to buy a few now and then, but in this case I could 75 yrs old or more before these are retired, and I still will have some 10188 laying around.

  3. I think what amazon did is an important note to everyone. Your re-seller plans can be shattered at any moment. Every platform we sell on has the ability to stop letting us sell at any time. Make sure to not over extend yourself.

  14. This should stamp out the issues Amazon was having on sets at the ASIN level. Nobody is going to come in with manufacturer invoices and pony up thousands just to send in some fake sets or sets with the minfigs pulled. Those days are over. I would not expect much change in the market at the beginning as most were grandfathered in. There will be a noticeable effect in 3-5 years time when future resellers who haven't even bought their first brick yet will be locked out and the current counterfeiters and poor sellers are weeded out over time. I do expect amazon premium pricing over ebay to be restablished over the next year or two as all of the new resellers are going to be stuck using ebay now.

  20. Why would anyone choose sub par marketplaces when there is Amazon? I will say that foot traffic on Amazon is unreal from what I've seen. Would take me forever to dump my investments on those other sites. I'll happily cash out and go back to my specialty.

  28. Our non-lego selling account is blocked from selling Lego at the brand level. Requires invoices and $1k to apply for approval. Our other account which we use specifically just for lego products is ungated for all Lego except for TFA. We never applied to be ungated for TFA, and don't plan to. Likewise our non-lego account is ungated for Hasbro, Funko, Shopkins etc but our Lego selling account is blocked for those. The listing for 75916 is blocked at both the brand level and ASIN level. If you are ungated in Lego you can still sell 75916 in collectible conditiion and can apply to get ungated for 75916 to sell new - that just requires invoices but no fee. There must have been a specific issue with this set that they imposed a block at the ASIN level. It appears there was some sought of threshold (either metrics, sales volume, dollar volume, start selling date, FBA vs FBM etc) that you had to meet to be grandfathered in to get unblocked at the brand level for all of the newly restricted brands. Amazon has been moving in this direction for a long time so it is no surprise. If you are grandfathered in count your blessings you got a golden ticket. Plenty did get grandfathered into Lego so the real effect won't be noticed for a few years but it is nice to know we are basically at max competition for Hasbro, Funko, Lego, Sony. Microsoft etc. This will help Amazon prices get back to that 20-30% premium over ebay a little further down the road.

  29. It appears that this may be more of an effort to target counterfeiters. If they grandfathered established professional selling accounts with a positive history of selling specific items, restricted any new sellers of those items, and required those new sellers to pony up $1000 to sell them, it would be a fairly effective way of targeting counterfeiting because any existing counterfeiters who are grandfathered are likely to get weeded out over time due to complaints and new counterfeiters would be unable to meet the gating requirements and/or unwilling to pony up $1000+ to sell. Here's hoping that this is what they're doing.

  33. If you have ever sold a Lego branded item on Amazon you will still be able to sell all Lego (same goes for Hasboro, Shopkins etc). Even if it was one polybag 5 years ago you are good to go if the listing was branded as LEGO. If you have not sold Lego ever you will need to be ungated. It is no different than when they gated grocery, dvds, health and beauty etc. You won't see any effects on the sellers in the listings as all of them are obviosuly grandfathered in. You will see an effect a few years down the track as alot of the currently ungated sellers leave or are suspended but not many new will come in. This is not going to change anything overnight, this is a positive a few years down the track.

  34. as listed in previous link apparently 75916 is one of the lego ASIN that requires approval. another one is 10702. its hitting one ASIN at a time. not sure about the depth and breadth of impact on other LEGO ASINs.

  41. Had a little luck today, with a $6 off $6 and a $10 off $20. When I went to go use my $10 off $20, I found this: $10 back in points on this. Nice way to convert my $10 in surprise points to $10 in regular points.

  43. Not really. I've been considering doing an update, but I'm discovering that summer is slow when it comes to Polybags. The only real change I've noticed out there is that 30447 Captain America's Motorcycle is now available at Target. Other than that, there's nothing to report on polybags. No reports of any polybags coming out, no previews on polybags to come. I expect that we'll get some new news on polybags in the next month or two. I will make an effort to update the list for the beginning of September, though.

  44. With all this stuff, just do it. Take your lumps and learn. It's way better than theorizing on the sidelines. Lego attracts the OCD person but we need to just act sometimes.
