arm shelf swiped some Little Mermaid Arielle undersea palaces at a target that the brickpicker stock tracker correctly identified in both price and number. couldn't say no to 6 of these at the price of $21.98 - red card 5% = 20.88 - 73% off the bloated 54.99 msrp. also snagged some shadow trooper battlepacks for $8.63 each. this store also had some super hero markdowns quinjet set for $58 and scooby doo lighthouse at 34.98 which i passed on. no JW clearance at any of the 2 dozen stores within my tracker zone.

New mini-ish modular from my 8 year old. Restaurant called "Wiener a' Pizza". Some sort of hot dog/pizza joint apparently. Second pic is the upstairs seating area, I was surprised by the outdoor patio seating. :-) 3rd pic is the bottom floor. Somehow the cooking is done with no oven, seems suspect haha.

Maybe there's a minifig body in the trunk we're not seeing.

Found two Dilophosaurus ambush for $7.50 a piece at WM and got the Deep Sea Sub at Kmart for $17 with a $15 off of $30 purchase.

The playsets tend to have a slower growth rate than the vehicles. Just looking at some of the recent examples - Duel on Geonosis, Palpatines Arrest, and even the Cantina have shown a slower growth rate, than some vehicles that were released during the same time that retired. Looking back, it was better to stock your money in Gunships, than to buy an equivalent amount of Duel on Geonosis, even if it has a very well done Count Dooku figure. Same can be said of Palpatines Arrest - a great set with awesome figures, but for some reason, the money would have been better put in X-wings back then. Last year, Cantina's haven't shown the same growth rate as AT-AT's and ISD's. So, I'd suspect something similar here. The IST will more than likely grow faster than the Final Duel's, and while I think investing in a few is a good bet, I think it will just be a moderate investment with very slowth growth. It will eventually double, but other sets will double much quicker.

I hope that Toys R Us is seeing a tangible impact on the bottom line this summer due to the lack of coupon availability. I for one am spending way less at their stores than I normally would be (like, approaching $0). Maybe the coupon business model gets re-invented soon - or next summer anyway.
