  3. My son finally finished his Kylo Ren's Shuttle. It was more difficult for him than the other builds he has done I would say (he is 6). I was surprised how big the finished product is and I like it better overall than expected. Too bad they didn't get to do the wings correctly.

  6. Some speculation that got me a little excited over on Brickset. "If Thrawn's Star Destroyer's name is the Chimaera, like in Legends, then I really hope that this is the next Star Destroyer set. It would be a good opportunity to give us Grand Admiral Thrawn and Admirals Titus and Konstantine (and perhaps Govenor Pryce) in minifigure form. The Skystrike Academy could also be an opportunity to give us new TIE Bombers and Interceptors, as they are well overdue remakes."

  10. Well...I finally found all the pieces...a couple off color but still looks amazing I think. It took my son and I 7 hours with 3 slight rebuilds until we got the balance right. Yes, it is tricky getting it to stand! Let me know what you all think. #legodad

  15. Nice! I bought 10173 NISB for $250 off craigslist a few years ago so we could have a lego xmas train going around the tree. Never got around to building it and then the price went to $800+ I could not do it. Sold it for $850 on ebay May 2015. At $100 happy to build it and have it whizzing around the tree.

  27. Were the JW dinos new molds? If so, LEGO has some molds now they can reuse for their own dinosaur line if they don't have the build license. And timing that new line around the release of JW2 (if the first line was a cash cow for them) would be obvious.

  29. Yes, it is the Arvo Brother's design. Very temperamental on positioning. It literally fell apart three times. I had to reinforce the feet as the heals would disconnect with minimal rear pressure. The arms, head, leg, and tail have to be in just the right positions. The Brothers do mention this but I didn't realize just how critical it is! I actually had to reposition as I built to ensure balance at each limb addition. Note to others, position matters! Enjoy!

  34. Thx, QF-ing is slowing down already, slower every hour but hey, sold full sets for $130 each and singles for $10 each plus shipping. For that money I'll quick flip, slow flip and even flip somebody if needed got free bionicles at TRU per their offer plus used 15% discounted gift cards, at Lego got regular 5% VIP and used a NEXO coupon from the calendar.

  35. At TRU looked like whole box of 60 was untouched so I grabbed it (shooshed at home) and Lego store had limit of 32 so I felt for few bananas and got help with couple penguin suit guys and just grabbed ransoms to reach 32. Already sold 2 complete sets and 10 singles, suprisingly sold only one banana guy out of those 10, so far best is penguin suit guy (3sold) and babysitter (3 sold). One imp sold, one ice queen and one serenader.

  44. In pretty sure there are 5 Banana guys but maybe only 3 of the Penguin Suit and 3 Babysitters per box. My TRU handed me an unopened box but gave me a limit of one set. I could have picked up just a couple but I really wanted my full set first Good job properly QFLL'ing!

  45. This is a Kijiji story in the greater Toronto area. Saw ad titled "Lego 50lbs" asking price $150 CAD (thats about $115 USD). Seller was located about 45 minutes outside of Toronto. I emailed her within 15 minutes of her listing. I asked if this was all Lego (no megabloks, Kinetix....etc), and if the 50lbs included the weight of the container. She responds and says its mostly Lego, she sorted most of the other branded items out, and yes, the estimate weight included the container. I'm thinking at $150, even at 40lbs, thats a great deal. I didn't feel it necessary to negotiate the price (fear she would sell it to someone else) and offered to buy it. Had some reservations intially, and didn't feel like making the drive.....but the thrill of the hunt pushed me to go. After arriving at the seller's residence and she lugged out the bin for me to review. Upon lifting it, I immediately realized this was definitely not 50lbs. Not even close! I mentioned this to the seller and asked if she actually weighed it. She admitted that it was not put on a scale, rather her husband estimated this based on all his experience "pumping iron"!! I am serious, she said that! I told her that this was definitely not 50lbs, more like 35-40lbs at best. Also, quickly looking through the bin, there were a lot more junk than she described, and only a handful of minifigures. This collection had clearly been played with by children, and not in the best condition. Despite all the red lights going off in my head.....and not wanting to go home empty handed after 45 minute drive. I offered her $120......which she accepted immediately. I realized I offered too much, and I will probably regret it. Sure enough, after arriving home, I begin to do some minor sorting. There were even more junk than I expected......worse of all, there was a large stone at the bottom of the bin! The stone probably weighed a couple of pounds! The smell of pets all over this collection became obvious as well. I felt like an idiot after discovering that. I ended up spending a couple of hours sorting and the final weight of the Lego was under 25lbs! This was probably one of the dumbest decisions I've ever made, despite all the red flags, I really need to get my head checked for still going through this deal. I guess I got all caught up in the hunt for deals and blinded by better judgement. On a positive note, I ended up selling it back on Kijiji to someone who wanted to pick up some cheap Lego for their kid to play with. Ended up selling it for what I paid.....minus time/gas I spent. This experience has definitely deterred me from ever considering buying bulk crap. Don't ever want to buy someone else's problems again. Feels good to rant Thanks for reading.
