Maybe in western Europe that will be the case, but here in the US, the IST I think has already hit bottom, and from here on out, it will hover around the low 80's until it goes OOS at most retailers, which I suspect occurs around November as we near black friday. Right now the cheapest place to get them is Amazon, and even at their buy-in, you will make out nicely on these.
It seems that here in the states especially, May the 4th is that period where you get the best deals on the future retirees. My spreadsheets have shown this for a few years now. After May the 4th, there is usually a moderately decent clearance event at walmarts in july, but that can be sporadic and it seemed that this year, the better clearance event happened in May of this year, although July has yet to be written, so maybe we will see Force Awakens sets that are due to be retired get phased out next. And to be honest, I have not seen any IST's at walmarts in my area since they hit 74.00 last month. In fact, walmart.com now shows it in the hands of toywiz at 139.99, and they are gone within a 50 mile radius of my area. So, I'm glad I stocked up when I did... because this set is now scarce and almost gone from my area. While I can still go into Target and TRU and pick up a handful of these at RRP or just a slight bit over, the days of getting them at 49.00 or 74.00 US is over, and I doubt we see them go that low again. It's following the same may the 4th pattern as most sets that are abound to retire. Last year it was AT-AT's, Ghost, and Cantinas that were dropped on clearance events first, and by october those sets were very scarce. As the fall months wore on ISD's, B-wings, and snowspeeders were slowly clearanced out too, but not at prices that i'd call substantial discounts. So, i'm just saying that IST's are going to be gone soon, and so will Jedi Duels, Naboo Starfighters, and even the exclusives like Battle Droid Troop Carriers, and Hailfire droids. In my area, even some force awakens sets are now getting scarce, especially the FO Transporter, which saw a big drop around May the 4th.. So, things are already progressing to the next phase, and the 2015 sets are soon to be a retired blip in the forever ongoing star wars timeline. We can argue all we want that they are going to be duds, but I doubt it. I don't buy that at all. I don't even see any of the Force Awakens sets being duds.
Maybe Rogue One sets will be duds if the movie flops, but I doubt that too.
I refuse to play with that bear. He's kind of proven to me that he hasn't really played the game, and is just full of hot air. That guy has "rookie" without a clue written all over him, even if he pretends he's not.
