  1. Yes, collection is in Albuquerque, NM. I'll drive up to 500 miles on my end for delivery if needed. My treatment has been great so far. Losing much of your tongue totally sucks, but it beats the alternative. Thanks everyone for the good wishes, I'll make it through this.
  2. I've had many inquiries, thanks to everyone! The collection has been sold, and I'm working with the buyer to arrange delivery. Thanks again to everyone, that was really quick. I actually had several offers in excess of my $12,500 asking price. I didn't accept them as 1) I had been working a deal with a buyer prior to this, and 2) I felt $12,500 was the fair price which leaves enough room for the buyer to make some profit on this collection. After all, that's one of the reasons we're all here. Thanks again, now I have to start packing things up.
  3. Once again, thanks to all. I really didn't want my health to be such a big deal; we all deal with stuff like this eventually, at least if you're living right. Here I am. 6" incision on my neck from the radical neck dissection I had 7 weeks ago. All the lymph nodes in the left side of my neck were removed, along with about 35% of my tongue.
  4. So you acted like a gentleman and gave her one of yours?
  5. I sold the beat up box tower bridge I picked up the other day for $200. Not too interesting but I did sell it on a new site (new to me) Nextdoor.com. It's a message board website for neighborhoods. It has a classified section. I don't think I will list any thousand dollar SSDs there but it might be good for small and used stuff. It's also great for getting local recommendations. It's gotten so expensive to sell online, love seeing a new local source beside craigslist. It's much more personalized than CL too so I don't expect the garbage responses I sometimes get on CL.
  6. I am really sorry to read that you are going through this. I hope that your treatments go extremely well and you go into remission sooner than later.

  14. Finally, I found the time to build a little bit today. It's Battle on Takodana with some Jedis visiting Maz while the bad guys are out of town. Thankfully, there were only two stickers in need of application and the banner is made of some kind of fabric. Also, most of the parts and bricks seem to be easily repurposed for MOCs.
  15. I'm down in STL but from Chicago. I wish I could go this weekend. I'll have to plan ahead for next year.

  17. What? There are screens on the gas pumps in your area?? I thought the gas stations there look more like this:

  19. @diablo2112 I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Good luck with your recovery and health. I know it isn't easy but we all wish you the best going forward. Staying positive for your family and self def helps.
  20. I agree .. the set itself is mediocre so the raptors are the only thing carrying it. I agree with newbie and $150 will be it's upper limit... maybe you get the swing of $160 on Amazon, $140 on eBay (or so) but I can't see it hitting $200.

Sorry to hear about your circumstances! Wishing you a speedy recovery. I have done business with the OP and can vouch for him.
  22. Since you asked... listen carefully at 0:53. Yep... can't remember three things from a grocery list, but I can remember hearing about a new lego part in a designer video!

And to explain our exclusives situation - we have to buy at full retail price - since LEGO chose not to allow us to buy them. 26. After all the Disney fig buying lately, I think I am ok on the minifig front...thanks for the heads up. I think I will be there early Sunday so hoping parking won't be too bad if I am there around 9:45ish... If anyone wants to meet up Sunday just to say hello, PM me as I will be there when the gates open and thanks again @Lordoflego for the heads up on this...it's only 40 mins from my house, and should be smooth sailing on a Sunday am...I was looking at the current travel times yesterday when we were chatting and they were over an hour....NO TY!!!! Glad to be traveling Sunday am.
  27. If there is anything there you want, I'd grab it now. From other reports, it appears not much lasts past 40%. You're also lucky if anything there is still good past 30%.
  28. I hope so, otherwise he just hopped on over to BP to brag about his prowess about finding wieners in Toys R US.
  29. The guy is back at it. After I said the price was $70 for the millionth time, he asked if I would take $60. Then a short time later he followed up with this gem: "I'm in [Town he lives in] By the time I drive to [Town I live in] and back I spent 40 in gas I think 50 is a fair offer Also it's been on there for a month Not many five year olds look on Craig's list for Lego sets ....." I did the math, that means he averages 8 miles per gallon if he is spending $40 on gas round trip. And the $40 is already double the original $20 he said. I told him to try Amazon or Ebay.
  30. It warms my heart to see two hated corporate giants trying to crap on each other. Hopefully the average consumer will benefit in the end.
  31. I might be on something, but I think you're onto something. I had to fight this crowd to the door.
  32. thank you dcdfan..... i have 5 flying in today, just ordered another handful. - been trying NOT to visit this place so frequently, every time i do, i just spend money. pp
  33. Well, that is something to be proud about. Isn't it?
  34. It took 10 weeks to crack this set open, but we finally broke down and built the Ferris Wheel on the weekend. What an awful, repetitive build but there is really is no alternative when you are building something like this and this is probably true for manufacturing a real life Ferris Wheel as well. This set is a gorgeous display piece, with a really nice selection of minifigures and I currently have it in the middle of a block of modular buildings as it towers over the people ready for a mechanical malfunction to annihilate my town! (that or a Stay Puft AKA toddler attack) I will add alternative colors to the carriages but they haven't arrived yet.

  36. Built my first modular. GF built the pet shop half and I built the townhouse. Fun build! This can get addictive (and expensive).

On the bright side, used copies have steadily increased in value over the past 6 months. I bought one of these last spring in a damaged box for ~$500 CAD, promptly cracked the seals and built it. It is now in used condition. If I were to sell it now, owning it for 6 months plus the build experience would cost me $12.50. Not bad, figured it would take longer for used copies to climb that much!
  43. Just driving on a freeway with wife checking craigslist. 10 minute detour and $50 later, complete used Pet Shop with box was added to our trunk.
