  4. Can I switch things up and share a positive experience? True story. I sold a complete set of Disney minifigs on eBay. I listed that they were still in the original bags, but I put a small cut in them to verify contents. Shortly after I received the money on PayPal, The buyer contacts me. The lady apologizes, but she claims I gave her two stitches. She's missing buzz light year. Which made sense to me, because I had recently went over my inventory of loose minifigs and was short a stitch. I go into customer-service panic-mode because of all the stories I've read here about buyers filing a complaint and getting their money back over the smallest inconsistency in their order. I'm a new seller and my feed back was only like 24, and more than half were from buying. So I immediately apologize for giving her stitches. But then she sends me a request: if she mails me one stitch back, will I please mail her the missing buzz light year. ?? She's asking ME to trade a stitch for a buzz? The buzz I rightfully owe her. She even says she's willing to wait until I get my stitch, before I give her a buzz. Now I'm getting paranoid, she's too nice. I am of course going to give her a buzz. And I'm certainly not going to wait until I receive a stitch. But What if she never sends a stitch and just wants a buzz for free? Who doesn't want a free buzz? What can I do?!? So I tell her I'm going to give her a buzz for free, gonna send it right away. I offer to send her $2 to pay for shipping my stitch back. She refuses. Doesn't want it. She compliments my package. Kids love the set. She just wants a buzz. Long story short, I roll her buzz with a pair of Washingtons. 'Cause I know she likes the way I pack it. And I got my stitch back and a great review on eBay. Disaster obverted. There are kind, generous people in the world.

  6. Brickset released an image of what looks like a new polybag of a double decker bus...seems like it would be a perfect promo for August when the Big Ben 10253 set becomes available. Looks pretty cool!

  7. I took delivery on all this today. The boxes came while I was coaching T-Ball. You should have seen the look on my Wife's face when I walked in the door and there were three big boxes sitting there for me! I was going to start building the modulars this weekend but am now on the fence. I am going to be moving in 17 months and not sure I want to start putting my City together to only have to tear apart next year. Plus I really don't have anywhere to put it at this point. However, I did start building The UCS Tie-Fighter!

  8. I don't think it would have been asking anyone to break their neck to include Gwen Stacy with this set. It's the only crack I've got against it.

  9. Here is a Jangbricks video review of 6929. He touched on the reasons I love this set Except that he did not pose the red guy with his super awesome green laser bazooka Oh yeah I still have most of the set. Obviously not in the best condition after being passed around several relatives.

  10. This was the first set I bought on my own with my paper route money. I swear it was like $50 back in 1986. I think I had a small space set from my parents before this one.

  11. Well, we got the new catalog this week. My son pointed to this on the cover and said he wants it. He slept outside last night.

  12. What are some lots you missed out on from CL whether you offered too low or waited too long to buy? I have 3 all in the last month or so. Kicking myself. 1. UCS Advanced Tie - used complete with manual $200 - I offered $175 but it sold and I never got a response back. Should have paid his asking price. 2. Large lot with The Burrow (Ron's house), Black Pearl, a couple old 3-1 houses from 2010, police station and some other city sets. Asked $330. I offered $250, then $275, he countered with $325. Someone paid his price shortly after. 3. This one hurts. Last Sunday, Memorial Day weekend, large lot with 90 sets. No boxes but all instructions included. Asking $1200. Taj Mahal, Black Pearl, Diagon Alley, Brick Bounty, just to name a few of the sweet sets. I inquired about minifigures but when they replied back it was sold. That thing was only listed 5 hours.

  17. If you need one for personal build - by all means buy one. And I'd contact @wolvergeek - he wants one, maybe you can do a fellow BP-er a favor by picking one up for him ....

  19. The first set I can remember getting was also 6080 King’s Castle. Best Christmas ever! I got it back from my mom a few years ago, minus a few minifigures and the original box. She even kept the mail-in catalog.

  21. You need us to tell you how to avoid that problem? Don't sell international or only use eBay's global shipping program.

  34. Let's not forget the fact that not only are these available in B&M Lego Shops where they shouldn't have been, they are not available at LEGO Shop at Home where they should have been. I'm with those who think that LEGO found out about this issue several weeks ago when the reviewers built there sets and provided feedback, changed tactics (I wanted to write "changed gears" ) and deployed all early stock to Lego B&M stores, opting to make a fix (manuals or physical or both) and roll out those fixed versions to LEGO Shop at Home in the next few weeks.

  37. These buyers will be the same ones that bribe to get themselves to the top of a waiting list for a real car so it´s just a question of selling before the market gets saturated. A lot of people don´t have a local lego store or the inclination to waste time going to one and are now shouting at their PA´s to get me a frigging car NOW or you are FIRED.

  39. I'd like to see the set inventory. 1600 mostly very common, very well-selling bricks. With a bit of a discount this might be a good BL store filler - though having said that, Crafting box has >500 pieces and costs $50, so 4x Crafting box = 2000 common pieces and this set is only 1600 .....

  40. It may not be much effect, but I personally got modular a after my kids built smaller sets. I liked theirs, but wanted more. We also bought the fairground mixer after getting the superhero fair type set as we decided to MOC the super hero one, make a bumper car area for the joker bumper cars and did the fairground. Only point is I would never underestimate the effects even the smaller sets have as they can give great ideas

  41. First modular MOC attempt began as ice cream shop but ran out of pink bricks so started working on other floors with blue. now i'm out of blue and waiting for more blue to arrive and will finish off the ice cream palace with another pink floor my daughter has promised i turn into a nail salon in exchange for eminent domain consuming her boxed up city park cafe I just can't deal with a pink ground floor and everything else blue. waiting for more Grilles to make a blue base.
