I still feel all the doom and gloom is just being overdramatic. I honestly doubt there will be a huge crash in the lego economy like the recession. It'll be more of a correction in the sense that profit margins will get so thin, that it will naturally thin the herd or those casual investors, or those that don't know what they are doing. Eventually once those people that have no idea what's going on and all fire sell their stuff, and those that can weather the storm will be just fine. Yes I understand people's fears of remakes, but honestly, out of the thousands upon thousands of sets Lego has produced, they are still releasing cool new fresh sets. (This year being an odd one, only because the last 3 exclusives IMO suckkkkk major you know what.) Look at the new technic sets, possibly Big Ben, etc. We already had fantastic models in the GBHQ and brick bank. I feel the worry should start happening when everything becomes a remake or a direct copy. The Death Star, could still be significantly different enough to not hurt any value from the previous two iterations. If the Carousel is true, I doubt, that no matter how different it'll probably hurt the value of the old one. (I differentiate between the two, only because Star Wars fans will pay a price to have a complete UCS collection no matter who you are talking about, and I don't think the people who generally buy the fairground theme are going to exactly be clamoring to have both version of a carousel.) With the snowspeeder, just like the X-wing, I expect that one to take a hit a bit, but I don't think too much, only because of some of the parts and rarity of them will keep the prices high. You guys are also going hard on the speculation as if you know exactly what's coming out. I think you guys need to calm it a bit and just wait until more information trickles in and go from there. One thing I can say about this site, is that even though it has quite the significant amount of members, you know a bunch aren't active, and as far as the entire country/world is concerned, we're smaller than a drop in the bucket. The normal person doesn't follow the news and rumors and everything like we do out here. Most people will just walk into a store, and see a set they like and buy it. I will bet you anything that most people, probably don't even know that some of the 'remakes' are even remakes at all. I know when I first got into this game, I never realized the sets that I had missed out on in the last decade until I discovered this site and did more research. Mainly because I became a fanatic again like when I was a kid. So without knowing, the first few times I walked into a Lego store, I never would've known if anything had ever been released before.

I went to TRU today and walked out with nothing. This rarely happens but spring clearance has taken a huge bite out of my wallet with B&N and Target last week. I was very interested in the Arctic Basecamp, Technic Container Truck, and a couple Hobbit sets but they were not marked down at all. It seems the "clearance blast" going on right now no longer applies to the first two sets which were on sale before Easter I think. I almost bought a Battle Droid Troop Carrier for my personal collection since that rarely seems to go on sale, but I convinced myself I can get it cheaper later this year. It was a sad LEGO day.

as a secondary market buyer, I actually like to see pics of an open box and sealed bags. i consider it still sealed and doesn't detract from the value. just my opinion though.

Sold 4 Umbaran MHC 75013 for $240 shipped on eBay the other day. Pleasant surprise as I forgot they were even on there.

I'm not sure what else you guys could have expected given the description and the piece count. I'm sure the finished product will look a little better since the preliminary images are never flattering. If anyone who has an invite is complaining about a freebie, I will send you my address so you can forward it and then you don't have to worry about it.

The bad news is that they restocked the Hydra Fortress at my TRU this week. They had 6-8 on the shelf that weren't there before. No matter how many times the Super Heroes and/or TRU exclusives bite me in the rear, I keep coming back for more.

Be cautious if Bricklink and Paypal addresses don't match. Otherwise, I would proceed no problem. Would avoid sending via Priority Express and would just send Priority (Express requires actual recipient to be present or to pickup at post office, which sometimes doesn't happen). I've only had one problem out of 30 or so transactions to Russia, which was resolved in my favor (someone hijacked a Swede's paypal account, but I sent to the address I was supposed to). When I say "in my favor," I mean Paypal ate it.

"Look at the working gear box" Ho. Ly. ****. Its been DECADES since weve seen a working gear box in a model. And if the shift pads are functional too... Im sold. That gear box alone will make this set a winner.

There is a clip on the Cinema Sins channel titled "Everything wrong with Who Framed Roger Rabbit". Funny as some of those rants are, you have to be real creative (and insanely nitpicky) to find what could possibly be wrong in a film like that. Other channels like Nostalgia Critic or I Hate Everything help to reinforce the point you brought up with people critiquing the holy heck out of every teeny tiny little thing. Sometimes it can be amusing but often rather depressing honestly. Nothing is perfect and I just want to enjoy myself for a little while.

And then they just sent me a "$10 back in points when you use the points you already have and spend another $15" coupon and next quarter they'll have to report another loss. I know they are just trying to get me to spend in their store, but when I'm getting $50 sets for $15 followed by $15 sets for $5, there is not much profit they'll make. Those discounts are better than most WM stunt clearance prices.

Amazingly the remaining stores in SoCal made the cut.

Is it on half price clearance yet?

Any tips for my first lego vending machine? It has 4 different choices: Snickers, Twix, Milky Way, and Reeses. The Machine is powereed by a lego Minstorms 2.0. You start the machine by entering 3 quarters in, all change of lower value is rejected. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
