  1. All the winning prizes have shipped...Finally. A lot of work. I would appreciate that winners would post photos of their prizes in this thread. I would like to thank everyone once again for your support. Principal Robbins received and deposited the $62,000 check yesterday. Instead of planning for next year, the school would have been planning to close its doors without the support of all of you. I salute you...
  2. My mouth waters every time someone mentions Chipotle......why you ask? 20-30 seconds before you vomit your mouth produces saliva which forms a protective layer in your mouth to protect against the acidity of the puke.........google it, it's true.

  5. My 11 year old opened her own BL store with my help, mostly selling minifigures. She is making probably $10 a week or more profit per week. She can inventory them, invoice, pack and ship. Not bad for 11 year old, on pace for $500 this year. I threw a bunch of polybags that have languished forever on ebay listings and have been moving rocket racoons, hulks, mini tumblers, and a slew of others above ebay prices. Almost 100% international sales: poland, slovakia, S Korea and Spain just this week

  12. Yes. Which was FREAKING amazing.
  13. You know it's the slow season when the last three "deals" were a t-shirt, a burrito and something from a tractor supply store. Someone wake me up when double VIP starts. Also, I definitely jumped on that burrito deal. Thanks BA!

Just as an FYI warning, apparently its possible to get completely banned from PayPal. I had a customer that was getting a weird "card cannot be used" error when trying to pay me. I helped them do some research and they wrote back with this... -Okay so I went back, and I found out what it was. I used paypal to pay for a private torrent service (to paypal it's illegal). -anything I use that is associated to my bank cards, my email, my phone number, pretty much anything used to identify me is permanently locked out. I could survive a Lego ban (knock on wood), but a PayPal ban would cripple my business.
  18. I'll be irritated if it's movie Ra's. I really want cape and collar.

I actually like the UCS Imperial Shuttle just a little better..but both are amazing builds
  22. In other words: if you haven't build a Slave I yet, go buy and build one.
  23. I´d try another theme! 7938 is not yet selling above RRP almost 2 years after retirement and station are too cheap to be able to offer any interesting return - train investment is no longer what it was 5 years ago.
  24. Some good news: A-Z claims will no longer affect a seller's metrics if Amazon rules in their favor or customer withdraws claim

I'm getting dizzy just looking at those pictures. Is he showing them that way to show how well the glue holds?
  26. A little of topic, and it was over ten years ago so the relevance now is non existent, but the UCS sets, they used to go on sale for 50 percent off at times. I had massive orders of UCS items back then. I bought 30 snowspeeders in orders of 5 during this sale. The good ole days....
  27. "46" = Week of Production "S" = Production Plant "5" = Year of Production H = Nyíregyháza, Hungary R = Ciénega de Flores, Mexico S = Kladno, Czech Republic Q = Purkersdorf, Austria
  28. Both Winter sets are 100%. The unpopular 10235 was actually a decent set to build. Starting the Palace Cinema tonight. GE will be last.
  29. And I'll build, the head! $11 - Ript Appeal LEGO Voltron t-shirt for February 9, 2016
  30. Palace Cinema...with some personal modifications. I have always admired the aesthetic style of this theatre and was happy to finally have a used one cross my path to build. The build was overall an enjoyable experience. The interior is not the most detailed of the modulars, but the exterior makes up for it in spades. Book 3 was very enjoyable to see how the roof, marque, and most impressively, the Palace sign come together. I enjoyed adding my little touches although I funged up the Shawshank poster. It adds charm though! I still may create stadium-style seating in the theatre, but for now I have a bank to build!
  31. Pretty sure we tell all the noobs who've never sold or shipped anything to start out small... Not our fault you didn't listen.
  32. Have you always wanted to organize your LEGO collection, but didn't know how to get started? Or, maybe you've already sorted your LEGO, but it's hard to find which box, bin or drawer has the part you need? I'm excited to share a massive update to the LEGO Brick Labels collection to include most of the bricks in a typical AFOL LEGO collection.Sample showing crisp images and a clear description of each LEGO Element. This updated collection includes 500 different labels organized into the following groups: Basic Elements (bricks, plates, tiles), SNOT Elements, Slopes, Wedges, Round, Curved, Clips/Hinges. Two additional groups are in “beta” because they aren’t quite complete: Technic, and ‘Other’. LEARN MORE: http://brickarchitect.com/labels/Sample showing Technic labels on an Akro-Mils 64-drawer cabinet. Here is a low-resolution preview of many of the labels contained in the collection. (Technic is not included in the preview images as it is in "beta".)You can learn more and download the labels at: http://brickarchitect.com/labels/Love the labels? Let me know! Comments, corrections or ideas how to make them better - I'd love to hear your feedback!Sincerely,Tom AlphinAuthor of The LEGO Architect, 2015, No Starch Press.
  33. Well some people are interested in architects as well... Btw I avoid people with a negative attitude about almost everything. Give it a rest man
  34. Maybe this is more complaint territory but I ordered 60 cmf series 15 from indigo a couple of days ago. Just placing the order was a hassle as my first 2 credit cards were rejected then I went the paypal route and paid the $180 or so. Then I get an email saying my order was on hold. So I called and was told I didnt pay for shipping which it never gave me an option to pay more money. So they cancelled my order of 60 and said they sent 40. This should be fun. First time ever ordering Lego out of the country. I have the worst luck with cmf minifigs as I can never find them locally until weeks after the release only to find boxes of the ones no one wants. I just want to have the enjoyment of opening up a complete box with my daughter. She normally keeps a complete set and some extras of her favorites and it gives her something to sell on ebay for a few weeks. Just dont think I would get the same enjoyment smooshing with my daughter in the store. She always gets mad when she comes up to a box and all the packs are felt up and wrinkled.
  35. @ChristopherJB Thanks for the heads up. Will they do the price guarantee despite the fact that the item is currently not in stock online? Thanks, Cody
  36. My guess would be the same people that work for TRU...

How do you ever order something through the web interface of shopyourway.com? Not only do I have to enter my credentials multiple times when I go from my surprise point overview to actually see the contents of my cart (every time), trying to then checkout results in yet another "member login", which doesn't even work (entered data correctly, but nothing happens when I try to go on from there - no error, nothing). Who develops a website like that?

I'm subscribed to everything and I never have gotten it. I get other promotions like free listings but not this.
  39. Londondrugs and Canadian Tire must share the same sale tag printer
  40. Everyone has there own strategy and maybe they are all just plain silly. I have qfll 4 for modest profit and have 4 as mid/long term hold. I could not easily have kept all 8 for mid/long term hold and certainly not 20+. Most importantly I am comfortable with my approach.
  41. Yes, if everybody would hold their sets and wait till the price would reach, say, €500, and then a majority of resellers would suddenly flood the market with their MISB offers, it would crash the price of the Tumbler on the 2nd hand market. So for a healthy future market we really need to get the air out of the Tumbler bubble by having new-time investors jump on the small price-increase now and get rid of their Tumblers for a small profit. It will benefit the patient resellers who wait out this 'storm' until supply and demand will hit healthier levels. Like Val-E says, he's probably exaggerating (a bit), and the future value of the Tumbler will most likely get up there some day. It will just take longer to get there...
  42. I only have one still sealed box in my storage. But when I see the Slave 1 on sale somewhere again, I will get more boxes including one for myself to build!
  43. Found a lost 9398 4x4 Crawler in a lost toy store for €153 after some bargaining.
  44. Many times they will send you this if you were placing things in your cart and didn't check out.
  45. Basically all higher priced Lego sets go up in price, if the buyer is willing to hold which most people seem not to anymore, in 2 years time people will be kicking themselves for not having 20+ of these, when the prices hit £500+.
  46. Yesterday I began building again. I started off small with some CMF series 15 followed by 75900 Mummy Museum Mystery. In the meantime some more sets followed: 41078 Skyra's Mysterious Sky Castle 75904 Mystery Mansion 41119 Cupcake Cafe 41101 Heartlake Grand Hotel (which I haven't finished building yet) All builds were enjoyable so far. Some stickers I left off as they would limit a later re-use too much. Especially all those run-down and broken window effects from 75904 probably wouldn't fit into any of my future projects. And even in a toned down 75904 the janitor hired by Skyra doesn't look too happy with the prospect of cleaning up that place. 41078 is surprisingly small. The Mystery Mansion at the same RRP is a lot more impressive in size. The construction of the portal between Elvendale and the world of Emily Jones is cool nonetheless. As I still had a Council of Elrond in the cupboard I added it to 41078 for a fun effect.
  47. Amazing find! You should be able to purchase some nice exclusives with the profit you make from that treasure. The dog appears to be the common police dog. I've never seen a cat like that though. They are usually quite smaller from my experience. I'd be curious as to what sets(s) they are from as well. They may be rare.
