Palace Cinema...with some personal modifications. I have always admired the aesthetic style of this theatre and was happy to finally have a used one cross my path to build. The build was overall an enjoyable experience. The interior is not the most detailed of the modulars, but the exterior makes up for it in spades. Book 3 was very enjoyable to see how the roof, marque, and most impressively, the Palace sign come together. I enjoyed adding my little touches although I funged up the Shawshank poster. It adds charm though! I still may create stadium-style seating in the theatre, but for now I have a bank to build!

But won't the constant toilet stops impede that?!?

I always Emails and I have talked to alot of guys on this site asking me what I am buying and what I will be buying, which I always give them the 100% Truth, alot have listened and I am sure many have not, now on the Helicarrier I will have 3-5 thats all, not saying it won't do great, I would rather have 10-15 Sandcrawlers, I already have my goals on 25 Slave1, 26 Tumblers, and all the Exclusives that should be retiring in the next year, and will be buying 5 more Simpson sets to have 15 each, and the main thing mentally for me is that I don't have to do the Panic buying, and getting them online and get damaged boxes. I get all mine at the Lego stores all great mint boxes. So for the guys that can afford it pick up the Exclusives now and then, which I been saying for a few years, Ed

One thing I always factor into my decision making when buying sets for investment is the box art, not just how the set looks on display. After all it the box that people look at time after time while they're debating whether or not to part with their hard earned money. Box art was the final push that made me buy another DS , a set that I'm not to bothered about display wise, but which has a absolutely fantastic box. Its looks collectible, retro, expensive and that massive Star Wars logo on the side just finishes it off perfectly. Now I don't think for a second that this will ever have the demand of the big SW sets, but the box does look pretty good, better than the set on its own anyway. Its big and has an expensive look about it. It looks, well it looks collectible. Anyway, this is one of the reasons Ive bought a couple (at good discount I might add) for investment and i'll leave it add that. Hoping for a short shelf life as always. I don't want go off topic but...

I'm not an Avengers fan but even I have to admit (like the Sea Cow), seeing the Helicarrier in pictures don't do it justice. It looks awesome in-person.

I've noticed over the years, most sets like this always follow the same general trend. Release: panned, not liked, skipped, etc. During production: this set is a stinker, no one will buy, etc. Near retirement: I think I'll pass... Once prices start to spike, the same people start buying and the horde follows. Retirement: Man this set was awesome, I'm glad I grabbed some when I got the chance. This set is a winner!!! P.S. I sure did open a can of worms replying to this topic. Sweet...

All this dislike and ambivalence for the set makes me think this is the next Sea Cow.

Having or buying the Hellicarrier is never about its beauty. Yes its a bit off, odd and maybe a bit childish even. But c'mon...It's a freak'n HELLICARRIER, it's certified and made out of real LEGO in a BIG BOX you can buy! Who cares what it looks like under a magnifiying glass...It's about watching the Avengers movie with friends and say 'You see that Hellicarrier falling from the sky? Yeah...What about it? I have it...Made out of LEGO, Then show them the BIG BOX and let them imagine what it feels like to own it..That's what the Hellicarrier is about,

Smyths Toys (UK) are selling all their Sandcrawler stock and not expecting to get more. Price has been slashed to £150 (but naturally only a couple of stores had stock). So perhaps the beginning of the end.

Another three winning packages went out today. It really hurts my soul to part with such wonderful sets. LOL. It also sucks packaging them and shipping them. Why didn't anybody tell me it was so hard?

At least american football is really fun to watch. So, as long as I dont have to take all those hits those guys are virtually killing themselves with, I'm pretty fine. Anyway, watching it is a bit like wathing Gladiators fighting for their lives...

I don't see why they would not be popular. The German soccer team is (among) the most favorite in the world. Players like Thomas Müller, Manuel Neuer and so on have fans all over the world. Every child that plays soccer knows them. Their names will stick with soccer fans forever. (I might be biased though cause I am German )

Had a banner day yesterday (Saturday). I'm just recovering from it. 1. Fell asleep Friday night in my 3 year old's bed with him. Was so zonked that I slept there all night. Oops. Woke up with back and neck pain. 2. Went downstairs and found that the cats (6 month old kittens), had knocked the entire hamster habitat off a shelf. Everything upside down, tubes everywhere. 3 year old is crying up a storm, worried that the hamsters are gone. (Fortunately, the hamsters were still in their cage). Spent the next 45 minutes (at 5:30 in the morning, thank you early riser 3 year old) cleaning up the cages, and putting everything back together. Guess it was time to change the bedding in there anyway. 3. Take the 3 year old out to start a couple of Walmart runs, drop off some Girl Scout cookies at some friend's house, etc. He wants a Happy Meal. We're in line for the drive-thru when he says he's going to be sick. I'll save you the details, but we had to head home. No LEGO hunting for me. 4. He and I nap off and on for the rest of the afternoon. 5. As we're getting ready for bed, he doesn't feel good again. Again, I'll save you the details, but I spent the next hour cleaning. 6. He and I sleep the rest of the night on the couch, just in case.

My 8 yrs old nephew built these two over the weekend (nexo knights and WALL-E): No help from my side on WALL-E except for one or two cases, he's a better builder than me!

It's about the same with 3in1 houses, not as poor investment as 3in1 vehicules but most of them have to be passed without regrets. There are few exceptions especially with houses that have a special brick with sound or light (I'm thinking about sets like 31012 that has retired soon, even if it will not perform that better than 110€/$, BTW it's time to unload them if you have some and invest elsewhere). For such sets being a Lego builder gives you some hints as an investor. Other exceptions are sets based on robots and animals (and dinosaurs). As an investment I would say that : animals (including dragons and dinos) > houses > robots > vehicules ... of course also depending how cool they are. (we're talking about 3in1 sets, not related with some creators sets like the 10226 sopwith camel or 10233 horizon express) Ok now I'm really off topic, time to stop.

The other day my cpa informed me there was a 20k discrepency in my books. So I set out to find out where it was. Come to find in may 2015 I deposited a check for 24931. They actually only deposited 4,931. So today they finally credited my account. So called cpa and he gave me even better news in that I overpaid for 2015 and that my first quarter 2016 taxes will almost be covered (was able to fully expense some large purchase)! Although it's money I worked hard for, it felt like I won the lotto.
