I'm about to really blow your mind, often times if I am getting a large haul, I'll usually give one or 2 $5 sets to a couple kids in nearby checkout aisles on my way out of the store. Paying it forward, baby.7 points

Is this a selfless act or are you just trying to encourage Lego addiction to boost the future sales? Mwahahahha6 points

I spoke with one Bundle winner and will come up with a collection of sets that works for them. I am still waiting on more winners to contact me. I just shipped the first three items. I will ship more tomorrow. YES...Thanks to all of you, we get to do this all over again next year! LOL. The fundraising business for non-public schools is a never ending business and unless we substantially raise enrollment, more money will have to be raised on an annual basis. It's the nature of the beast, but the school is worth the trouble. We will do another raffle at some point. We might mix in some different products as well. My son is an Elf on the Shelf fanatic. His elves are bad though. Troublemakers. LOL6 points

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up about a change in what was a weekly article showcasing the Top 10 Sellers in the US Shop at Home website. Given that the trend seems to be for the list to be filled mostly with minifigure packs, smaller "accessories", and things of the sort, I think it will be more productive to transform the article into a monthly update. I will be tracking the Top Sellers list daily/weekly, and at the end of the month will tally up the results and calculate an average position for each set. The first article will be up the first week of March with February top sellers. Expect a little more info then. Thanks!5 points

Well what an excellent idea for a mod building! This would fit in so well along with the other modulars, in the street. I do think though, even if this gets to the 10k votes (which it undoubtedly will imo), its something Lego would never release as an ideas set. I hope they do a modular along this line in the future. Either ways its got my vote. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/1292503 points

Bought a 10234 Sydney Opera House and two boxed Green Grocers 10185. And a 3450 for the wife. Had to get that back. She was mad after I sold my last one and had been waiting to get a good deal on one. So wife is happy and I get to buy more...everybody wins:)3 points

As a kid I never had it unfortunately. Until now I built 7 out of 11 models, some I already built once before a couple of years ago, and I must say that this set really is a treat. I can't even begin to describe how much fun it is and how many hours of play one can get from this set even by following instructions and trying to redo pictured models. Everything was very cleverly designed. I'll show vids of all the models in action. To keep this on topic I'll show one more model.3 points

Spaceport $85. I know many are still holding out for $25 , but lowest online price I've seen so far. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WHZ5A3S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_f.OSwb70KHC983 points

I think Poe's X-wing requires no advertising at this point. Same with the UCS sets. They can't send out novels, so they focus on what needs attention. Citing times the catalog is an accurate indicator is no different than applauding someone who got one retirement right out of the 5 they guessed.3 points

I thought I was going to have an awful day as I had to go to the middle of nowhere for work today. I work outside and it is dumping snow/rain. Turns out it was a great day. I found 50% off spaceports, morrow dragon, city square, blue jet, and gorilla grodd, as well as 75%off some bionicles that are not even out yet or just released 71308. I have built all but city square and new bionicle guy and they are all great sets. My sons favorite is morrow dragon.3 points

This is not really a MOC, so I thought I would place in this forum.... For the past few years we have had a school bring their 3rd grade classes to my workplace to do a tour. Each department gets a topic and explains that topic to the children. Our department explains about recycling efforts and energy use. So, I put together this layout to give a visual example as we explained things to the kids. I purchased the instructions to a Brick City Depot building (https://www.brickcitydepot.com/CB026/smokestacks_coffee_house) and modified it a bit to include a standby generator on the main floor. The generator lights up using Lifelites (http://www.lifelites.com/). I used a Brick Builders Pro sticker (http://www.brickbuilderspro.com/) for the "City Power" billboard. I also incorporated LED lights into the street lights and on top of the hydro dam. I have the LED lights on, but maybe difficult to see due to natural lighting /camera. In the layout we have a hydro dam, wind turbine, stationary solar panels on awning and building, rotating solar panels, standby generation, transmission lines and a recycling center (with Hulk getting “angry”). The only thing really missing is a generation plant (too big and expensive to build) and a nuclear facility – which, I’m waiting for a Simpson’s version! The entire grade seems to enjoy it, as do the teachers. This layout makes it sooo much easier to explain to third graders.3 points

Am I the only one that would prefer the train burn to the ground than have another helicopter...? [emoji56]2 points

I think it will do OK, but if you're looking to buy more than a few £ below RRP, you're probably too late Might be some mileage in picking them up from eBay now if the price delivered is below RRP significantly (possible I guess) Personally, I have a few, bought at a decent discount, and I don't plan to get any more2 points

I also flipped another 10697 XXL tower today for $119 CAD shipped. Buy-in at $44.80 including taxes. Listed with Free Shipping, buyer located in New Brunswick, so it'll cost a bit to send from Vancouver, but I should still be clearing close to 100% after all's done. Glad I bought these, but sort of also glad I didn't end up finding more like I tried to do... they don't move very quickly, but when they do it's been a nice return on the cash invested!2 points

I saw the DO in the most recent post so I figured I'd be coming to read the EOL talk. It's surely doing the dance somewhere, right? Last chance?! Load up now or regret it forever?!2 points

The push pump was only in this set and in the excavator set 8851 (also a nice one, recently built it again... childhood memories...) but the regular pump is even rarer: it's the only one in this color in any set (ref.: Bricklink). Or well... in fact it isn't rare at all of course, as 8040 was the Pet Shop of its time. Ok to keep this on topic I'll post another 8040 model I built for the blog (I keep telling myself "it's for the blog so I SHOULD play with utilize my Lego"):2 points
