That's nothing. I have been engagement ring shopping. Now I'm thinking do I want a wife or a garage full of Death Stars.... Show her a before and after comparison pic of what her ring could look like after selling a few Death Stars down the road.5 points

A swiss site has an un-boxing and 5 minute speed build of the new firehouse headquarters. It looks pretty darn cool! http://www.promobricks.de/lego-ghostbusters-feuerwehr-hauptquartier-75827-erstes-review-und-speed-build-video-erschienen/108775 points

I feel an Emazers post is nigh. There will be mocking, bragging, references to people's inability to listen and talk of crying into your pillow.4 points

let's be honest people if you have sold lego for a profit your a RESELLER.. just cause someone has more lego to sell he is a horder or a bottom feeder?? there is no difference between you and this bottom feeder...i would kill you in a business debate as you don't understand the market if you think "rich quick chasers" is messing thing up for you4 points

You all might want to stop by Fred Meyer today. I stopped in, and they had a big table of Lego, all 40% off. The label was for 'select sets'. I picked up an AT-DP for $30, and a Double Decker Couch for $9. There were LOTS of pirates sets, friends, Lego Movie, chima, and some super hero. The Milano was there for $45 after discount. Overall, there wasn't anything too great from an investment standpoint. These were all the slow sellers at this point. I don't know if this was just at my store, or FM all over the northwest. But there might be some gems out there.4 points

If I see 50% off Imperial Shuttles there will be carnage in that aisle.4 points

anytime you see 1 post, you can be sure there are 20 additional bp'ers who only read the daily deals thread, never post and are doing exactly the same thing. anytime you think you are the only one onto something, there's 8 people thinking the same thought as you right now. AT-AT and ISD are classic medium term holds. the franchise reboot will bring new fans into the fold and re-awaken the child in many adults, iconic ships will be very easy to unload for decent profit with a 1-2 year hold. this has nothing to do with hoarding or greed. how can you build up stock of something to sell in a year or two without buying it?? the goal is to buy something as close to EOL as possible. We are at EOL for AT-AT. It is time to buy it if you want to sell it. I don't see how this is any different from all the other times stuff goes EOL.4 points

I really do, but to mention it almost in every posting is just plain dumb.3 points

Yes. Arkham Asylum's somewhat disappointing returns make me rate a UCS star wars set above it.3 points

As a married man...just make sure you leave enough money to buy shelves. You don't want to stack them on top of each other.3 points

I think there probably is. Just2Good obviously has some major connections within LEGO and has too much consistent insider information to be ignored. The question is whether or not the new Death Star will have an huge effect on the 10188's appreciation. Personally, I don't think it will because of the new movie characters and scenes. If it is a set similar to the 10143 but finished, the 10188 could explode. Even another play set could be much, much different. The 10188 is a classic. It will be missed.3 points

The REAL reason that it is marked as retiring soon is because today is my birthday (true) and this is a commemorative gift. DUH!3 points

I see it as a good thing. Almost every one that is sold is opened, and took one less in the wild to make it happen. I feel like the horde is doing everyone a favor by cleaning out remaining stock. Let everyone get their $180 now so those with patience can sell for $250-$300 later3 points

I see it in spot 25 - there´s no way a 200 euro no exclusive to lego shop set is going to be moving more units than Wall E or Dr Who, which are new exclusives and at a more affordable price point. I do wonder how long it will take to move to call to check or sold out with buying limit 1 - shame we don´t have the EU stock feed anymore as these are situations it would have come in handy.3 points

I blew out a complete set of microfighters series one the other day for 109 plus shipping. I bought 4 of the 6 on clearance, and paid 8.00 for the other two. Complete win in my book. 3 more complete sets to blow out. I figure i'll tier them as the prices rise. I see these topping out around 150ish. Either way, Star Wars is hot right now. Sold a droid gunship for 72 plus shipping credit. Paid mid 20's for it. Have a few more of these to go too and more than doubled my money on that one.3 points

The last time the DS "retired", remember it was announced online by a reputable source, I sold 10 at the risk of loss of future profit to generate cash for shopkins. One observation I made during that period when it was actually just "sold out" on LEGO Shop at Home prior to the red we are making more for you GPB was the amount of sellers, the amount of sets they had, and the slim margins they were willing to accept. Someone on here calculated a burn rate based on units sold per day and price and it was going to be a long time to hit $1,000. If the Tumbler goes this year I think it hits $500 before the DS hits $1000.2 points

Sorry... I'm going to go crack a cold one to celebrate redghostx's birthday. Happy birthday, sir!2 points

This set (Temple of Airjitzu) has more potential than any future modular when TLG decides to give it a very short lifespan. Maybe it is already retired, but Lego 'forgot' the retiring soon label and stock is drying up very slowly at this moment.. ;-) wouldn't that be great! Chaos, panic hahah!2 points

It must be mixel season. Series 2 for $73 just to get one sold when I had a bunch of other items to ship and now 3 sets at $80 each. Nice to see that the $65 people are out so the price can recover.2 points

PayPal actually does usually stick to their timeframes, so I would expect the case to move along to the terms they've outlined.2 points
-
Thanks guys. I'll give Paypal a call if the case doesn't go anywhere in a couple of days. Between all this packing and shipping, dealing with potential scammers, buyers complaining about box condition, low ball offers for Deloreans ("my baby wants this for Christmas and everyone is trying to make a huge profit")....selling ain't easy. Selling is tough. And I'm a low volume guy. I can't imagine what scar tissue some of you veterans have after years of doing business.2 points
-
Once the tracking is showing 'delivered' call eBay/PayPal and tell them that you did everything as a seller that you were suppose to do and you don't want to wait days for this case/dispute to be resolved and they will take care of it in you favor right away, I sold ucs ssd for $1100 and same happened, plus couple other times but that one is most memorable, anyway, u should b good.2 points
