I'm taking my son on Dec 18 in the early afternoon. No IMAX for us this time around. He's pumped to see more of Kylo Ren. I'm pumped to just get passed the 3 prequel films. best of all, I get to watch a new Star Wars film with my boy.

The higher that price is going the more sellers you have entering the market, many of which probably weren't planning on selling this soon. The body isn't even cold yet. Give the AT-AT some time and it will be just fine.

Mine have come in all varied conditions, none pancaked. I've had at least 2 where the box cutter sliced them open on the bottom when they opened the case. Anyone who works with product should be required to go to box cutter training.

I'm definitely not going to complain about it.. This creates a good opportunity, and judging from the upcoming list that is on brickset, it looks like next year they are producing another large batch of sets, so I see no slowdown in the amount of sets they are producing. This could mean more sets will be retired less than a year into their cycle as they continue with their rotating door philosophy, which emerged about a year and a half ago. I personally see it as a benefit, because not many resellers can buy across so many different themes, which helps spread around the amount of items that would hit the retirement reseller market.

My son built this set the other day, and I do think it's a stunning and charming little set. I find most of the winter village sets redundant and somewhat average, but this one sticks out. Unfortunately, I think having 400 resellers bunched up like that for a set that is pretty much only garner people's attention one month out of the year is a an extremely high number and I think it will take a few years to purge those numbers to a respectable level where prices could be respectable. To me, just making 2x on a set can be done with so many other sets, that it's almost pointless to fight the tide on something like this. Also there is a chance Santa themed sets will be remade many times in the future. So, that could hit the value of this one too. So, the view of hoarding this one doesn't look good in the next year, and could be a big risk long term. I really like this set, but there's a point where you have to step back and look at the numbers.

my guess is more the other way around. i cant imagine they expected a huge run on the temple, but wanted to move out smaller sets. though im sure its not selling as well as they would like.

anytime you see 1 post, you can be sure there are 20 additional bp'ers who only read the daily deals thread, never post and are doing exactly the same thing. anytime you think you are the only one onto something, there's 8 people thinking the same thought as you right now. AT-AT and ISD are classic medium term holds. the franchise reboot will bring new fans into the fold and re-awaken the child in many adults, iconic ships will be very easy to unload for decent profit with a 1-2 year hold. this has nothing to do with hoarding or greed. how can you build up stock of something to sell in a year or two without buying it?? the goal is to buy something as close to EOL as possible. We are at EOL for AT-AT. It is time to buy it if you want to sell it. I don't see how this is any different from all the other times stuff goes EOL.

Or they have released so many sets that producing all of them concurrently is disrupting their logistics. I think it is more of a realization that they overdid the number of releases than a change in practice. They bumped into their own capacity constraints and have to trim some of them out of necessity.

I started buying Snowplow #60083 today. If it's really going, I won't be able to get as many as I had liked at the price I wanted, but some are better than none.

Imperial Star Destroyer is now sold out at amazon. It's also sold out online at Lego S&H, target, walmart, and TRU. Let the fun begin.

Also you don't earn eBay bucks on shipping costs. I know that's usually only 2% but if I'm working with a 5x eBay bucks promo and buying a $300 item, I'd much rather get 10% "back" off the full $300 (when it's listed as free shipping) as opposed to 10% back off $280 and then pay $20 more for shipping. Yes it's only $2 difference but it makes a difference psychologically.

We're pretty lucky, we have a pretty cheap theater. It's subsidized by our local university. 4 tickets for 3D, 2 Large Popcorns, 2 Large drinks, & cotton candy for $40.

Don't feel bad. I only sold two and I've had them listed since April. I sold my first one in like, July I think. It has taken some time, that's for sure. CL is slow going but I'd rather list there rather than ebay and have to pay fees and shipping.

As this set is unpopular in non-American markets I would not be surprised if they retired it in those countries, and then boost up the buying limit in the United States as it is popular here.

Off topic but i finally finished building my copy of 7784. Absolutely amazing model! In a couple of years time its going to be the late 20/early 30 y/o who grew up with the Dark Knight as their batman. They're going to be the new AFOLS with the ca$h to burn. The tumbler is one of those sets that has the wow factor that will attract people who have no interest in Lego but want THAT model just to display (IMO). Maybe I'm a little too high on this set.... but it is awesome (and failing it doing well has some pretty decent parts for Moc'ers)

Oh and I just bought a used 10030(finally) on Ebay. He accepted my $900 offer. No box though. Instructions are in great condition. Seller has good feedback selling a bunch of UCS sets so I'm stoked. Earned me $54 in EBucks too

No is the answer to most of those questions. They may still be giving a slight discount in lieu of the VIP points, but I'm not sure because the 10% passholder discount is greater and can't be combined so I never use that smaller discount. I think Florida and some of the Discovery Centers do Gifts With Purchase from time to time, but I haven't seen any type of GWP at LEGOLAND California in years. When they do offer a GWP, it's usually some type of polybag. They don't get the Gingerbread House type sets that are exclusive to S@H and brand retail stores.

And for the questions, Is the tumbler a good investement? My answer is definitly yes. Most people are very suprise that it is already retiring. Secondo, was limited, i don't think anyone has 20 of them like we see for modulars and tower bridge and star wars stuff like picture we see in the stockroom threat. it came out if I remember correctly, october 2014. Even if we hoard it now, we are not sure if they will be doing more, so it will be limited. The 70810 is a good investement I also think, wasnt hoarded at all, and I've builded one, a heck of a model. To continue with the tumbler, for having building one too, it is a very impressive model, owns the right to be called UCS. He might be the opening one for a new séries of UCS superheroes, and with those circonstance, might hit x5.

The photo you provided makes the bottom one look too dark (it looks red in the photo, if it is red - it isn't the right one), the one I provided is correct.

Half as well = RRP for current one but I know what you mean. With the modular market seeimingly saturated, there isn´t much better place to put the big money right now. Jaisonline was referring to half the ROI not half the total price.

Personally I think that's the most likely explanation. DC Comics is bringing out a whole new series of movies based on the Justice League group, including Batman and Superman. It's not unthinkable that DC has demanded TLG to retire Lego Batman sets from the completely unrelated Christopher Nolan directed Batman trilogy. That demand may have been a prerequisite for TLG to maintain the license rights to bring out new Lego sets for the Batman vs Superman and subsequent Justice League sequels.

I built 6955 Space Lock-Up Isolation last night. This was included in a bulk lot I got off CL. I have never owned this set or built it and I was a little skeptical about it overall when looking at the instructions. It is an older space set from 1989. This is an amazing set! Not the most detailed, but it has one of the coolest play features I have seen in awhile. The entire platform/ holding cell/ satellite array pivots and rotates when turning the wheel on the side! The little cell can fit onto the shuttle and the shuttle can dock on the moving platform. I can imagine kids playing with this for hours. Once I get the parts cleaned up I will be posting a YouTube video of it. Surprisingly there is nothing on YouTube already.

The "creative dioramas" and "real life" type of photos that we will use in the introduction and scattered throughout the book can use any LEGO minifigure you want, as long as they are from a specific theme. Even if they are mixed up themes and are dynamite photographs, I can figure a way to use them. My list of minifigures that are getting individual analysis and write up can be a standard type of image or creative as well. We will find ways to use great photos, regardless of the figure, but try to stick with the basic outline. If there is a minifigure that I left out that should be included, let me know. I believe one release is good for all the photos submitted.

Finished the Ep 7 Tie Fighter last night. Since I sold all my OT TIEs without building one I didn't have that to compare to, but I thought it was a decent build, nothing extraordinary, though. I was under the impression it had dark red accents, not red, so I may change that out as I'm not a huge fan of it. $70, glad I didn't pay that much as the finished product is your standard TIE Fighter. Figures are great and the new TIE Pilot with the oxygen hose is fantastic. History says this will be a good investment but will for sure be re-made within 5 years, so get in and get out with this one. I have really liked the Ep 7 sets I have built so far.(MF, Poe, TIE, Speeder) The grey boxes I am not interested in. Glad Ren will be in a cheaper set next run and I'm sure we'll see Phasma soon enough as well. I'm just not paying through the nose for a figure that we're going to see a dozen times by the time the trilogy is over.
