  1. Don't post anything about money making, flipping, especially Lego on social media accounts. People get jealous, people will follow and try to flip and that brings competitions which make it harder for you to make money, let alone all of us. And most importantly, you don't know who's looking at your post. Home burglaries aiming to steal/rob Lego inventories are not unheard of in this forum.

  5. I'm not sure about the value of the MOC, but that milk is around $1.79. Very impressive display. How did you acquire it? Are you looking to sell it or just curious as to what it's worth?

  12. Hi anyone care to venture a guess at the value on this custom Lego Colosseum. It's around 24in tall and a little over 45in in diameter. I'm only guessing but I think it weighs around 100lbs. I dont know how many total pieces but it has to be in the tens of thousands. I can count hundreds of pieces just in a small section of the structure. Also included are around 135 roman mini figures. It came from a major movie studio prop department.

  14. Speaking of beautiful... I got the Bold-Arrow voodoo workin' today... a wink & a smile works in Charlotte, too. I found an I-Rex on the shelf today, figured I'd try all coupons I had: the 20% off, $5 off, and $10 gift card for $75 purchase... well of course, they wouldn't all go through. The newbie cashier said the 20% and $5 worked, but the $10 gift card would not... I was very understanding... "Oh that's fine... I just thought I'd give it a try... thank you for trying..." But she wouldn't give up. She called over the more senior cashier (who has scanned 100's of my coupons this year). She smiled, "Nice to see you! Didn't see you here last Saturday?.." she took control of the scanner... didn't work right away, and then..beep... beep-beep... $91.37. I'm thinking "That's less than I expected... quick... run my card please..." When I got out to the car, I'm looking over the receipt: 20% check.... $5 off check... and then the line "21.40 SAVINGS DEC. $10 GIFT CARD" ... What? I'm not complaining... but whatever that coupon was... I'd like to get more of those

  17. I have it for my Wii U console. And I think it's a really fun game. It is sharing similarities with previous Traveller's tales Lego games in the sense of collecting studs, looking for hidden gold bricks, the special red brick, collecting mini-sets, switching between characters to use their special abilities... The difference here is of course the mixing of different Lego worlds. And the portal device which requires frequent interaction by moving the figures from one spot on the portal device to another based on changing colours. One major advantage of the Wii U version over the Playstation or Xbox version is how co-op can be played on two screens instead of doing a split-screen on the TV. With the Wii U player 1 can use the gamepad and watch his actions there, while player two can use the TV and watch his actions there, using the full width of the TV. I haven't really progressed far yet, but am enjoying it whenever I have some spare time to play. I also have two kids (boy of 9 and girl of 6) and they do enjoy playing it too, though my daughter finds it a bit difficult yet. But my son has friends from school coming over and they do enjoy playing it together in co-op mode.

  20. Item under review at Amazon. It should be interesting to see how long this lasts and how high the 3rd party price goes up as we approach the holiday selling season. Shop at Home has them but nobody without a reseller badge buys from there anyways, right?

  25. Second biggest according to Brickset... 10184 - Town Plan was bigger with 1980 vs 1677 pieces. The tree in 10184 will give this one a run for it's money, but I agree using the round 2x2 bricks for the trunk was a sucky move. They should have just expand a little on the one from the spring time scene (40052).

  27. No like XBox 360? I can't imagine playing on any other system. I have a Wii and had a PS3 and rarely played those. The XBox controller totally spoils you. LOL, that thing was a boat anchor. That's how I feel about my Xbox 360! Lol I've wanted to throw it off my balcony since the day we got it. Every time I turn that thing on, it takes me 29 minutes to get a game going. There's all sorts of patches that need to be installed these days. But even from the start it felt like it took 20 to actually start game play. The Kinect drives me nuts because it loses the kids or me constantly. Doesn't matter info to mount high or low. Last night was the first time in the years I've owned it that we actually enjoyed it. Somehow my 3 1/2 year was getting the sensor to recognize him and getting Disney Dance Party to respond to him. It was actually enjoyable to be able to walk away and do something else while he could play. My 7 year old for years would start playing a game and it would constantly pause because it would stop tracking her. So after 10 mutes to get through a 3 minute game play, I'd stop and spend 15 minutes adjusting things. Only to have it behave the same way. I have a Wii and love it, but we've gone through 2 of them know. Both have mysteriously stopped working after a couple of years. Which is too bad because we love the Mario games (Kart and Party). Back to Dimensions. With the extra 10% off on top of 35% off at Target today looks like I'll pick up the 360 version and hope for the best.

  28. I haven't played it, but I'm expecting a more polished Lego game where I now have to buy characters with actual money, not digital studs, to unlock them. I think Lego knew what they were doing trying to tie in some nostalgia with BTTF, Scooby, Ghostbusters. If it was just Chima, Ninjago, and some superheros stuff there is no way I would consider giving this as a Christmas gift. I miss the OG Xbox giant controller.

  33. Another great article by FCB. The OT collecting community does have a special place in their hearts for Jawas. I have no idea why but it's something about these little guys and gals with their scrap in the desert and cruising (very slowly) in their city in a box on trends. Maybe that is why I like them also. The original Kenner plastic toy (not the cardboard one) is also still highly sought after along with the vinyl cape and non-US figures. I would also consider the Sandcrawler iconic enough for Lucas feel the need to feature it more in the special edition New Hope (going back to the 1998 version) and put a cameo of it in Eps 1 and 2. All of the above and more are was 10144 was an investing darling for until 75059 was released. MISB 10144s were selling for $350+ consistently on eBay until early 2014. Not bad for a $140 MSRP set that many purchased at discount. Having seen Jawa toy merchandise explode in value since the Kenner days, I would suggest not over looking this set. Heck, I've been preaching about 75059 to FCB and other BPs for a while now. ...if only it makes an appearance in The Force Awakens. Then this Sandcrawler will start cruising pretty fast.

  35. Now it's 65% RRP? Last week it was only 50% RRP, and amazon prices seem to have fell another 10.00. Whatever. Saw 3 RE's at my local wm this week, and 2 IR's, and left them all. I've already hit my limit, and i'm not buying anymore. Like, a guy said before, why continue to hit the same few sets over and over, when there are many others out there to buy. I'm definitely in agreement with that strategy, because if we let these slow down, maybe lego will retire them in the states, instead of saying "wow, these sell in 2 minutes, fire up the machines". There's a point where you have to realize you're part of the problem, not part of the solution.

  37. Bought the following today (drove from Baltimore to Cherry Hill , NJ for the grand opening of the Lego Store there): 2x Raptor Rampage (included free 40145 LEGO store at the Cherry Hill store grand opening)-paid only tax after using VIP points 1x Indominus Rex (included free 40145 LEGO store at the Cherry Hill store grand opening)-paid MSRP+NJ tax, but used apple pay and discover it card so will get 22% cash back 1x Deep Sea Operations Base (included free 40145 LEGO store at the Cherry Hill store grand opening)-paid MSRP+NJ tax 1x Temple of Airjitzu (included free Enter the Serpent set)-paid $145 after using VIP points and no tax in Delaware, also used apple pay and discover it card so will get 22% cash back 1x Coruscant Police Gunship and 1x Snowman 40093 from TRU- paid $38.46 for both after 20%, $5 off $25, discounted gc and TRUTH discounts (also included a red arm c3po for free, would have tried for the anachondrai mech also but they said they were sold out of them) I probably should have taken advantage of the no sales tax/apple pay+ discover it combo at the Delaware store, but it was a long day and I wanted to get home.
