Don't post anything about money making, flipping, especially Lego on social media accounts. People get jealous, people will follow and try to flip and that brings competitions which make it harder for you to make money, let alone all of us. And most importantly, you don't know who's looking at your post. Home burglaries aiming to steal/rob Lego inventories are not unheard of in this forum.5 points

I'm not sure about the value of the MOC, but that milk is around $1.79. Very impressive display. How did you acquire it? Are you looking to sell it or just curious as to what it's worth?4 points

Target Cartwheel has Dimensions for 35% off today. Additionally, if you text GAMER to 827438, you get an additional 10% off Toys to Life Games, including Dimensions. That takes it down to $58. Add Red Card for another 5% off to get it down to $553 points

I think that RJ is talking about one of the buy/sell groups. Wouldn't sweat it personally. AFOLs are some of the whiniest, entitled people that I have ever come across.3 points

Hi anyone care to venture a guess at the value on this custom Lego Colosseum. It's around 24in tall and a little over 45in in diameter. I'm only guessing but I think it weighs around 100lbs. I dont know how many total pieces but it has to be in the tens of thousands. I can count hundreds of pieces just in a small section of the structure. Also included are around 135 roman mini figures. It came from a major movie studio prop department.2 points

Speaking of beautiful... I got the Bold-Arrow voodoo workin' today... a wink & a smile works in Charlotte, too. I found an I-Rex on the shelf today, figured I'd try all coupons I had: the 20% off, $5 off, and $10 gift card for $75 purchase... well of course, they wouldn't all go through. The newbie cashier said the 20% and $5 worked, but the $10 gift card would not... I was very understanding... "Oh that's fine... I just thought I'd give it a try... thank you for trying..." But she wouldn't give up. She called over the more senior cashier (who has scanned 100's of my coupons this year). She smiled, "Nice to see you! Didn't see you here last Saturday?.." she took control of the scanner... didn't work right away, and then..beep... beep-beep... $91.37. I'm thinking "That's less than I expected... quick... run my card please..." When I got out to the car, I'm looking over the receipt: 20% check.... $5 off check... and then the line "21.40 SAVINGS DEC. $10 GIFT CARD" ... What? I'm not complaining... but whatever that coupon was... I'd like to get more of those2 points

I have it for my Wii U console. And I think it's a really fun game. It is sharing similarities with previous Traveller's tales Lego games in the sense of collecting studs, looking for hidden gold bricks, the special red brick, collecting mini-sets, switching between characters to use their special abilities... The difference here is of course the mixing of different Lego worlds. And the portal device which requires frequent interaction by moving the figures from one spot on the portal device to another based on changing colours. One major advantage of the Wii U version over the Playstation or Xbox version is how co-op can be played on two screens instead of doing a split-screen on the TV. With the Wii U player 1 can use the gamepad and watch his actions there, while player two can use the TV and watch his actions there, using the full width of the TV. I haven't really progressed far yet, but am enjoying it whenever I have some spare time to play. I also have two kids (boy of 9 and girl of 6) and they do enjoy playing it too, though my daughter finds it a bit difficult yet. But my son has friends from school coming over and they do enjoy playing it together in co-op mode.2 points

Item under review at Amazon. It should be interesting to see how long this lasts and how high the 3rd party price goes up as we approach the holiday selling season. Shop at Home has them but nobody without a reseller badge buys from there anyways, right?2 points

Something a certain someone said to me the other day got me thinking perhaps we could use a topic for showcasing all the sorts of MOCs inspired by or based on the many architectural styles in the known world. Now this isn't meant just for builds similar to the official Architecture line but rather all of them regardless of scale. Honestly this thread sounds more like Tom Alphin's area of expertise (the author of The LEGO Architect). Anyway here are some fan designs I came across. There really are a lot of Modern houses out there. Ha. This has been kind of remedied with the 1.03 patch for Lego Dimensions which added a "Hero for hire" feature where you can hire a character for 30 seconds to access or open a location that needs a special power/ability to be opened/unlocked. The 30 seconds should be enough to drill through a floor, or unlock a cage, or whatever, to get to the special brick locked up there. You pay for this with the studs collected in a level, where the first time you hire a hero costs 50,000 studs for that hero, but subsequent hires of that hero cost more with a maximum limit. Besides the main quest there are also all of those Worlds to explore in free-roam style. You'll need a character of a certain world to be able to enter that World. So with only the Starter Pack you can only enter the free-roam Worlds of The Lego Movie, Batman, and Lord of the Rings.1 point

At least the initial jump was good in the US. I've offloaded most of mine already, but it an easy 50%+ profit over here.1 point

Good question. I've got 1 left for my personal collection. (sold luckily in time. (As I have done with my BKhalifa sets as well - not taking the risk) The only way I would sell it, is through the creation of a super-pack containing all the WV sets (if ever I would be ready to sell my best sets).1 point

I've been getting abused on facebook a bit lately. Apparently making money off lego is evil. They have no clue how hard we work, to provide the rare sets they all want.1 point

Wow. Jeez. Amazed that people will spend that much on it. Personally, I rather get the 2012 Dino version of the GT with money saved. It's funny because a co-worker was looking up the jw sets on Amazon and stumbled on that one. She thought it was a bigger set than just a polybag. I wonder if anyone will ask for their money back after seeing what they are getting. [emoji15]1 point

Instead of posting this in MOC highlights I feel like it's more appropriate to post it here ;-) Some of these might not be "architecture" (at least one ;-) ) but I'll post it here anyhow as it belongs to my series ^.^ This time the topic is asian architecture. I've found so many great MOCs that I cannot possibly post them all but I'll try to share some of the bests with you. Let's start with the simpler but still beautiful ones and work our way up. 1. https://www.flickr.com/photos/113119815@N06/15034180599/in/dateposted/ A very nice wooden gate by Kanji-Kanji-hiroshi (I cannot read the Kanji but the hiragana mean hiroshi ;-) ... so some japanese guy anyhow ) And an awesome cherry blossom tree! 2. Secondly we have a interior scene by "konze" https://www.flickr.com/photos/k0nze/7285602026 I like the simplicity of it. 3. Next we'll have a nice interior scene in some japanese teahouse by "gabriel" https://www.flickr.com/photos/55631421@N03/page1 I really like the detailed and yet simple interior even though I feel that the floor of "konze"'s moc (number 2) is more realistic. The exterior sure is an eyecatcher with the small cherry tree and the stonefloor. Also the bricktecture of the roof is great. 4. Last but certainly not least! I hope I can upload all of these picture ;-) These are just some builds of Hung Andy https://www.flickr.com/photos/andybear0426/ who has built many great stunning MOCs. You should check out his flickr account! Here are some details of the temple... These are pieces of paper, small fortune telling papers normally. Ringing the bell :-) And I guess these are supposed to be small wooden plates (also fortune stuff) Check out this awesome CRAB! restaurant. There's also a great interior. I guess these are dumplings... anyhow very nice detailed building and interior! Hope you enjoyed this asian architecture post :-)1 point
