  7. Ok, so I'm posting this for Lego Rules since he inquired. Everything I ordered shipped... I'm too embarrassed to say the exact quantity, but needless to say it was over 10 each of the Exo, truck and train... and they all shipped, so there seems to be no rhyme or reason to Walmart Ban Hammer like Lego.com...

This story reminds me of one that was on Reddit recently, where a package went to Swaziland instead of Switzerland.

I would rather be in HI as well. Snow is coming
  11. Take pics or a video? I didn't take any video while going about it which is good as it would need a lot of editing because of all the foul language I was using. I'll take some pictures of the final product later today.

  14. You need to upload tracking through eBay, better yet purchase shipping through eBay and it will upload automatically. For any item under $750 if tracking shows delivered you should be covered. As the buyer has already contacted you I would call eBay and let them know what's up. Also if you shipped USPS don't be surprised if the item gets delivered in the next few days, sometimes they get ahead of themselves with marking packages delivered.
  15. My air packs from Target came with seal codes 40R5.
  16. My curiosity got the best of me today and I bought the 6085 Black Monarch's Castle that has been sitting on Blinq.com for the past few weeks after they lowered the price dramatically. I'll be surprised, but pretty happy if a NISB set from the 1980s arrives at my doorstep for $400.

Recent Posts widget is back on main page. Looked to be a conflict with the Groups app again and I have notified the developer of that app to see if they can address it.

  24. Kids don't buy, parents do. I think LEGO still moves inside of a safety zone. Also you have to take into consideration that most sets are priced in a normal price range from 10-120. That's how it's always been. More expensive sets are out there too, but PR or BB or DS is not an everyday toy for everyone but either collectors treat OR the ultimate present for kids. (Or maybe just another present if the parents have enough money ;-)).
  25. In fact down here in Quebec, the law doesn't at all permit such an error " in store or on internet " http://www.torontosun.com/2015/02/10/price-error-on-sears-website-angers-quebecers "So far, Sears has refused to change its position, saying that the mistake was made in good faith and was simply a misplaced comma. "Sears has demonstrated good will by honouring numerous price errors," said Sears Canada vice-president communications Vincent Power. "However, this error was exceptional." That stance is not shared by Quebec's Office of Consumer Protection. "Our lawyers believe that the merchant must honour the posted price," said OCP communications director Charles Tanguay." I've had similar issue with Archambault, worng picture for AT-At and Micro At-at .. and I've won 6 sets 129.99$ for 12.99$ since the picture wasn't the good one, just a few days after Sears error.
  26. Yes, by policy, this is true. I really think that the policy is more YMMV at TRU than any of the coupons/sales.
  27. So far the Holiday Train commands a price of roughly 24€ shipped on German ebay. This is amazing considering the fact that you only have to spend 55€ to get this set. So a single Louvre, Winter Toy Shop or The Big Bang Theory is already sufficient to qualify for this promo.
  28. They all put "these purchases are subject to pricing errors .. and if there are, we can cancel the order" terms into online sales. Our outdated legislation allows that to be sufficient reason to cancel an order. It's like having a pricing mistake in a flyer - once discovered, if they put a sign up in the store saying "sorry, our bad" then they don't have to honor the price for anyone else. So in this case, they put that in the terms you agree to making a purchase and you're out of luck if they cancel.
  29. Believe us, it was said, several times. Maybe not in a serious manner, but it was said. I love the HQ, but not for a deep dive investment. There are several other big sets that I didn't care for as deep dive investments either and I'm not sorry for concluding this before retirement.
  30. They did on the Tower of Orthanc once. That was a good day

  32. In some companies, employers like to pay the same positions the same wages. Well, trust me, "we're" not all performing the same...
  33. Can't agree more. Compare to any of modular buildings, this GB HQ looks really plain and boring. It is just a B grade movie with a very catchy tune. Wow. You are dead to me now.
  34. Finished up Shuttle Tyderium last night. It's awesome. So much better than its predecessors. Never built a 10212, but this was a lot of fun and is very swooshable(according to my son, of course)

  37. Did you try bargaining? Tell him that you'll pay him two thousand now, and another fifteen when you reach Alderaan.
  38. I made an announcement last week that you might not have seen that I have to basically completely rewrite everything based on changes in the data we get, so it's a work in progress. It will be straightened out over the next day or two. I have to change a ton of stuff. I do not know what you mean by the same for the Classified what "do not see any surplus anymore" means. It's a crap load of work I need to do and do it in stages. The new template for the price guide is a work in progress too that I was basically forced to make live early before getting it the way I want. Google has been barking at me for weeks because those other pages are not mobile friendly at all, etc, etc. Just give me a few more days to try and catch up. I wish I had all day to work on it, but now I need to switch gears and go to the office and work on totally different garbage.

Built this 787 Dreamliner these couple days. Although it is my third time building it, but still love it so much.
  40. It's a business, what to you expect? Also over the last 30 years!!! The price per brick didn't change as much as people might think and the molds, designs, prints have been improved over the years as well as the sets details. Also you don't have to decide for either a "halfway to being sentient" toy OR LEGO toys but you can have both. If children still feel the same about LEGO as I did then I absolutely can understand what they see in it. Also LEGO is doing a great job in marketing their products. While you can create your own world with LEGO, even using it as a means of art (a lot of MOCs are compareable to paintings or sculptures), and use it again after years of catching dust, your "halfway to being sentient" toys mostly are cheap plastic crap where you get what you buy and cannot create anything of your own. The digital world is making progress though, but a hands on toy still seems to be a good choice if you ask me. I feel exactly the same. LEGO is a european product that is sold cheaper tot he U.S. than to most european countries. Also you have a different discount system than we have which gives you insane opportunities (but for exclusive sets?). You have to have this system as your economy is made up differently and probably most people don't take into considerationt that you pay the store price + TAXES instead of taxes being included. (As far as I know this is not true for ordering directly from shop at home). Right now at 1,00€=0.88$ the price being 149,99€ to 170.00€ is exactly matched one to one (170.00$ = 149,79€). (We use "," instead of "." Just so nobody gets confused about what I'm doing here ^.^ ).
  41. So, once again, it escapes me what interest these good folk have in taking less than 30 euros from a sale after commissions. Still, as long as they go to real buyers, one less sealed box on the market.
  42. This is a start... (Credit to TOK for posting it first)
  43. Spider-man does go great with the modulars. Even my wife has taken to him swinging around the different buildings in our modular city. I've been meaning to add that particular Doc Ock as a counterpart and Alpine makes a great point; I'm going to be getting one of these before double VIP ends. : ) BB really makes one appreciate PR though. Recent ones have taken interiors to the next level but exteriors aren't as legen-wait-a-year-for-the-next-modular-dary anymore. PR was easily the best combination of exterior and interior.
