Ok, so I'm posting this for Lego Rules since he inquired. Everything I ordered shipped... I'm too embarrassed to say the exact quantity, but needless to say it was over 10 each of the Exo, truck and train... and they all shipped, so there seems to be no rhyme or reason to Walmart Ban Hammer like Lego.com...3 points

Take pics or a video? I didn't take any video while going about it which is good as it would need a lot of editing because of all the foul language I was using. I'll take some pictures of the final product later today.3 points

You need to upload tracking through eBay, better yet purchase shipping through eBay and it will upload automatically. For any item under $750 if tracking shows delivered you should be covered. As the buyer has already contacted you I would call eBay and let them know what's up. Also if you shipped USPS don't be surprised if the item gets delivered in the next few days, sometimes they get ahead of themselves with marking packages delivered.3 points

My curiosity got the best of me today and I bought the 6085 Black Monarch's Castle that has been sitting on Blinq.com for the past few weeks after they lowered the price dramatically. I'll be surprised, but pretty happy if a NISB set from the 1980s arrives at my doorstep for $400.2 points

Kids don't buy, parents do. I think LEGO still moves inside of a safety zone. Also you have to take into consideration that most sets are priced in a normal price range from 10-120. That's how it's always been. More expensive sets are out there too, but PR or BB or DS is not an everyday toy for everyone but either collectors treat OR the ultimate present for kids. (Or maybe just another present if the parents have enough money ;-)).2 points

First, let me apologize for the downtime in the forum we just had. I was not expecting that. I thought I was doing a quick maintenance release to get ready for this 4.1 update of the forum. I guess they just pushed the 4.1 update and luckily it went through without any errors. One cool thing you will want to do is allow the browser notifications. I think it is very cool if you are active in the forum. Below is a large list of updates in the release. The activity stream is also a big update. You can no configure multiple streams for yourself to get the information you look at most often. Key Changes Changes and New Features Include: New menu structure and drag-and-drop menu manager Ability to have two menu levels Option to create both custom-link menu items and embed preconfigured menus Preview before publishing All menu items support group permissions Discovery system that allows for both admin and user created Activity Streams Admin-defined streams always visible to users. Users can edit and save admin streams to create their own, custom copy. The main show-all stream automatically tells you when there is new activity Users can create custom streams User streams can be shared but viewer will only see content based on their permissions Filter options include: All content or specific apps. Some apps support further refinement into categories or content-type. I would rather buy 7 Ecto's than 1 of these. Set looks awesome, but not at that price point. At least for investing....1 point

At a starting point of $350, it has to hit some very high numbers to make it a big time winner. I just don't see people shelling out big money for a set that is not really iconic in any way besides piece count. Ghostbusters was a cute movie, but let's face it, it is no STAR WARS or LOTR or Harry Potter and its fan base is much smaller and less enthusiastic. It's my opinion the $350 might be best spent elsewhere, unless there is a short production run of this set.1 point

I just finished an interesting interview with LEGO Artist Paul Wellington, who is probably best known for his large "Brickville" and "Brick City" microscale scenes. I was more interested in his intricate small-scale LEGO models of real buildings like the National Congress of Brazil (as featured in my book The LEGO Architect), and his most recent microscale model of Unity Temple by architect Frank Lloyd Wright.NATIONAL CONGRESS OF BRAZILBrasilia, Brazil, 1964, Oscar Niemeyer.LEGO Model by Paul Wellington."The scale of the National Congress of Brazil [LEGO] model is solely based on the sides of the towers, which use 1×8 tiles. I wanted to maximize the number of windows (trans-light blue plates) therefore the tiles could only be connected in one place."UNITY TEMPLEOak Park, Illinois, 1908, Frank Lloyd Wright.LEGO Model by Paul Wellington."Unity Temple was conceived by utilizing 2×2 medium stone gray bricks as the corners of the building. Next I imagined creating the columns out of 1×1 bricks with handles. Everything after that essentially fell into place."I asked Paul to tell me how he works within the limited selection of LEGO Elements. He explained: "For the most part I don’t have a problem with the selection of LEGO, just deciding what to build. I like to come up with new uses for pieces, as I rather focus on what LEGO does have rather than don’t. Some of my favorite and most commonly used pieces include headlight bricks, cheese slopes (1x1x2/3 slopes) and brackets. Using just these three parts alone I can create numerous designs from LEGO." Paul's dream elements include: 1×1 Grille Tile, 1×1 Plate with door rail, Wedge Tiles, 1×1 Brick with 2 Adjacent Knobs, and the 1×5 Brick (not pictured).I also asked Paul which new elements he most wishes would be added to the LEGO System. He had a nice list of ideas, which I drew out to share here.Learn more about Paul, how he uses 3D Modeling software to make amazing rendered images of his models, his Brickville / Brick City projects and more by reading the whole interview at:http://brickarchitect.com/2015/paul-wellington/Sincerely,---Tom1 point

There are multiple issues that must be dealt with here and it will take some time to sort it all out. Every time something works well, other outside forces make you change things. Give Jeff some time to work on it.1 point

I received something similar the other day. I had gotten paid, everything checked out as far as Paypal and eBay were concerned - I was sending to a confirmed address. I was a little concerned because the eBay account holder name and the name I was sending to didn't match. I got an open case on the payment, but it was closed (by the buyer) a few hours later. I decided to go ahead and ship it. Sure enough, about a week after delivery, and just a couple of days ago, I got that note. Turns out the buyer opened a case again, that they weren't the ones that bought it. I was refunded my fees, and it was suggested that I try to cancel the shipment. But, having been delivered a week prior, that wasn't going to happen. It sucks because it was a FB that sold for $425. Yes, I have my money, but it was flat out stolen. I'd rather have sold it to someone that was going to legitimately do something with it, then some lowlife that now has their paws on it. Considering they paid nothing for it, a quick for them will net them a pretty penny. Meanwhile, all of us honest folk pay for it with higher interest rates, higher eBay and PayPal fees, etc.1 point
