  3. My son and I completed our bricklink'd Super Star Destroyer. Love the build, and the size is pretty impressive. If I had one gripe, it's that the mini-figs cannot stand up in the faux-bridge they included. To pose them, you have to leave the cover off. To store them in there, they all have to be either sitting or laying down. I substituted a handful of internal parts due to cost, like the yellow right-angle brackets that cost around $5 each. Total cost was under $400 spread out over a few months (to avoid the wife radar), but we still need to buy 2 of the 5 mini-figs. The exercise of finding the parts, maximizing the orders, inventorying and sorting, and then finally building, was a VERY worthwhile and fun project. Almost like an archaeological dig of sorts.
  4. I have been screwing around with him all morning. Making him explain over and over again how to scratch off the silver stuff on the back of the gift cards and if he would accept Applebees gift cards instead.
  5. For all of you who don't know it yet ;-) (To lighten up the mood AND showing you a possible remake for the beloved DS Set).
  6. Another evening looking up...last time it was "beer building." Today I'm bourbon building...or maybe mash manufacturing...ethanol engineering?
  7. I sold a used and 100% complete without the box hogwarts castle (4842) for $260 shipped, a 100% complete without the box hagrid's hut (4738) for $70 shipped and a 100% complete without a box and manual knight bus (4866) for $40 shipped
  8. Didn't someone say that last year 2 years ago 3 years ago 4 years ago ?
  9. Whaddaya mean ? It takes 16 seconds to smoosh complete set if you use the custom 16 pockets bag. At some point, someone is going to look back at this thread and think "why did that 1 dude stop doing CMF again?"
  10. That time of year again! The kid was so psyched about (surprise) opening 16 new minifigs...
  11. I've come to accept that I can only put on stickers crooked.
  12. Alright you guys. Took a walk down to the store and snapped a few pics. as you can see, the owner has slapped "outgoing set" signs on Helicarrier, Tumbler and Tower bridge"

  14. I got back to working on this since it was raining out today. I would like to be done so I can build all the new SW sets but have about 4-6,000 pieces left.
  15. LEGO Toys R Us Build Event - Mini Poe's X-Wing Fighter - November 17, 2015 Toys R Us building event for a mini LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens X-Wing Fighter. This event will be held on Saturday, November 14 from 12-2pm. This X-Wing is Poe Dameron’s version and is slightly different from previous X-Wings we’ve seen from Toys R Us. Mark your calendars because I expect this building event to be very popular ahead of the release of The Force Awakens in December.

I got 1 1/2 cases of it You sir are the T R U Master
  17. Woohoo!! So excited!! I kid you not, FOUR more pieces than last year's model...!!!!!
  18. I'm sure one of us would be happy to make little Timmy's Christmas dream come true...for the right price.
  19. There was a child and parent behind me today in the TRU line while checking out (had 2 RR's in my hands) and the kid tells his mother he really wants JW Lego for X-mas. She was like: "well ok, don't you worry Santa will get them" Poor little Timmy, mother probably doesn't even know a shortage is coming! And no i did not take these over letting a kid have them, i left 1 RR on the shelf, and a bajaliion Pterodactyls In other news a local TRU had 2 fresh cases of IR, all 38r5 codes (everything else was still 31-33r5). Did some Bricktober magic on some of em to soften the blow.

I have 2 incoming today. Will let you guys know seal codes later.
  21. I don't know if the backlash from the Winter Toy Shop remake is going to have any effect whatsoever on TLG's future plans, but I will say that Cloud City (in my opinion) is a prime candidate for a remake. This is one set I would absolutely sell now if I had it. I'm not predicting it will be remade, I'm just saying if it is... you heard it here first. You've all been warned
  22. Out going set= please take these items off my hands now so I can use the shelf space for more Star Wars.
  23. My biggest concern with 10188 is that it is going to get the Winter Toy Shop treatment in 2016. New box, a few new pieces, and updated minifigs (maybe a few different). When the info came out we would be getting a new DS for 2016 I assumed it would be a complete redo but now I am not so sure and sadly it would not surprise me in the least if the new model is just 10188 with window dressing. I am not trying to scare anyone off this set as it will bring tremendous returns if it does go this year and if the 2016 DS is completely different. The direction that this company is taking with its products must also be considered though.

Ya I read that as well but not sure what they were smoking.
  25. There is a top secret board meeting today over whether to redo the box or not. Probably why shop at home is down too.
  26. Let's liven up this thread a bit. 10240 Sold Out

harrumph Is this the death star channel or the debbie downer channel ? by all means if it is that bad for you everyone should get out or talk about how bad it is to encourage everyone else to get out while secretly doubling down ps thanks for the reminder it is almost time to start listing my 75030 and what not
  28. True, but on the same token, you can also say it's all about your profit margin/remaining stock after you flipped a bunch. Currently, i'm sitting on a bunch of free complete sets thanks to all those "i got to have it right now" collectors. So, if I wanted to I could give these out as halloween candy, and just walk away…... At the current prices, the buy in after fees/shipping costs would have to be almost half of retail to consider it a flip worth doing. I'm cautiously optimistic prices will go back up, but not this year.
  29. We’re not done. Black Friday / Lego double points and poly Asda are likely to have another £10 off £50 / £20 off £100 or similar Argos did do a 3-2 in Nov last year, but they didn’t do one in August, so maybe that's done. Least likely, but it is possible we’ll see another Tesco offer as it’s been weaker this year (1500 for £75 rather than 2000 for £70, or even 2000 for £60 spring 2014 (picked up stacks of 4*76000 for £15per with 2kpoints))
  30. I will be glad when these are gone. I'm tired of molesting bags...
  31. Been moving the $1.49 SW magnets (blow out from LEGO Shop at Home ) in sets of 7 at close to $5/ea. I pad my shipping, so I will be close to 300% after fees. I bought over 100, I wish I had 300 more.
  32. CMF Series 14: Scary Story! by Jared If only I remembered....
  33. I noticed all the sets are now Temporarily Out of Stock on the site, again. And you weren't the only one here to receive that message. I think that's telling.. Alright, let me go pull all of those misguided arrows out of my back
  34. I don't think you get all the figs - at least not right away? You get a few starters and then you have to find the older series ones in the game piece by piece. For the newer ones (like Monsters) you have to have the codes to unlock certain figures and even the monster trials park or something.
  35. "Totally different beast"
  36. No outgoing tags on the sw stuff. There were ucs slave 1, tie fighter and sandcrawler in the shop. Loads on vw camper van. he better not be bluffing man. Could it be he's trying to move his big money items faster by slapping those tags on them?
  37. I just read somewhere that Boba Fett is worth between $5K-$9K...
  38. These are in most Targets in my area today.
  39. It has worked and will work for some people who buy the right sets. The one thing that helps in this new marketplace with extended production runs is that there are more sets to choose than ever, about 700 different LEGO sets/items annually. This is up from 400-500 LEGO sets/items being released annually 5 or 10 years ago. Many of these sets are ignored, but are viable investments. On a personal note, I just cannot buy all the sets I want to because of the sheer amount of sets to pick from, so I know there are opportunities I will miss out on.
  40. There is very little chance that this set would have retired this close to the new movie. A case could have been made earlier in the year when we saw shortages, but at this point... What would be the point of retiring it? The new box will only stimulate sales once again and keep this set quite popular till another large Death Star version takes its place. I think it's time for people to look at the hundreds of other potential sets out there as collectibles instead of the same few dozen. LEGO can't keep them all in production.
  41. Emazers may as well go for 80 then.
  42. I have a picture of me walking barefoot across Abby Road.
  43. My TRU hasn't received any, or they'll hold them in the back until Easter. The entire staff at my TRU won't go in the back and look for anything. Standard answer, "Everything we have is on the floor." This is from the managers too. Even when I see stuff disappear from the floor, I ask if it's in the back, and then it reappears 3 weeks later. I'm kind of like my 3-year old. Keep asking the same question and hoping for a different answer eventually.
  44. FWIW - I actually wish every Lego set came with the punch holes as it would be significantly harder for scammers to pull of a "remove the minfigs/return the set" scam.
