With any business whether it be a large corporation or a small website like BrickPicker, business models change. At times, you need to ask yourselves what it is that you are looking to achieve with the product you are working on. Since the beginning, Ed and I have always set out to try and help the LEGO investor and reseller save and make money.Today we are announcing that Brick Classifieds will be changing to the FREE / NO FEES model. I don't think you can really complain about that now can you. We want to help you, the LEGO investor/reseller, to move your product. Hopefully with some of the new tools that we have added to the system and the new ones that are being worked on right now, you will help spread the word to check Brick Classifieds first to find the best prices on LEGO items. Since there are no commissions taken out of your sale, we hope that you will work to price your items accordingly. If you are not going to lose fees, you should be pricing it lower on Brick Classifieds than on the other marketplaces so that you can still make the most money. Lower prices will help bring new buyers. Once buyers learn to check Brick Classifieds for best pricing, they will check Brick Classifieds first which means more money in your pocket instead of someone elses. We have made some updates to the product detail page of Brick Classifieds. We have included listings from other Brick Classifieds sellers as well as listings from eBay and Amazon. We are trying to show the buyer where they can get the best deal. If you, the seller, do your job correctly, they should want to buy the product from you and not go to the big shops. If the prices are better on eBay or Amazon, hopefully the buyer will click through and Brick Classifieds can earn some revenue through affiliate programs. Over the next few days we will be adding feeds from BrickOwl and still looking to see what can be done with BrickLink. It's been a while since I made a post about updates, but here are somethings that have changed on Brick Classifieds: Seller fees have been changed to 0% Removed the Trade feature. That has now returned to the BrickPicker forum. Entire site is in https (SSL) mode Created an infinite scroll page to easily see all the latest items that have been posted on the site Built a Store Banner Generator for you to design a custom banner for your store profile page. This could be useful for posting specials and discounts One of the big things we want to do is help spread the word about Brick Classifieds. We created a tool that will allow you to select random products in your store or pick the actual items you want displayed. It will create a snippet of code that you can use to display your store products on forums, websites, eBay, where ever. Just paste the code we give you and your items can be shown anywhere. In the coming days, there will be an update to the price guide template on BrickPicker that will include listings of sets on Brick Classifieds Everything you need to sell LEGO items is here for you. The price is right, that is for sure. The thing is to get the word out, price aggressively and get the buyers out there to learn more about your shop here on Brick Classifieds that has great prices. Viral marketing from all of you is the best way to get people to see your listings. Price the items better than eBay, Amazon, etc. They will buy from you and you will save on the fees. It is a win for everyone. Put a snippet about Brick Classifieds in a eBay listing here or there to let them check out your store. I am sure they would be happy to pay a lower price and know that you are most likely padding the price to help pay the eBay fees.7 points

Based on a classic age where tantalizing tales of science fiction and pleasing aesthetical forms of art came together to create a captivating concept of an alternate future utopia about ray guns, star travel, hulking robots, and invaders from beyond, these builds capture this essence of a "retro future" in all its delightfully quirky charms. While many if not most of the designs could hardly be considered practical or efficient by today's real world standards of technology and leisure, nevertheless much like a vintage car what matters is the look of the ride itself. A used 4842 Hogwarts Castle for $250 plus shipping. 100% complete, with all 3 manuals, but no box. Bought on craigslist several months ago for $100. Sold on Bricklink, so no 10% eBay commission.2 points

20% off exclusives in the UK, with stock available, would have been awesome too.2 points

Fear leads to loose bladders. Loose bladders lead to wet britches. Wet bricthes leads to embrassment. Embrassment leads to hilarity. Hilarity leads to excess laughter. Excess laughter leads to loose bladders. Loose bladders leads to....it's a self fulfilling prophecy.2 points

Which ad drives you nuts? You know the one - it's been there for months, it's priced way too high, and it's constantly renewed so it shows up at the top every time you search for lego. For me it's this create-a-puzzle. I do not like you, puzzle that's marginally related to lego1 point

Saw a flat of Lego at my TRU today and looks like the Bricktober sets are similar to last year's. Sorry if this is already posted, couldn't find anything on my phone.1 point

Here's the updated Bricklink XML for the Bat-Pod part list. I modified the one posted earlier and decreased the counts needed to build one Bat-Pod. The original file had enough parts for two. Someone might want to go through and help me verify the numbers. I'm trying to do that now. I also removed the Wanted List ID from the XML, so it should work for anyone. batpod_bl_list.txt1 point

I got kinda lucky, not a big score but my 2 local ones had the hulk busters smash for like £26.49 and they both had 3 in stock last night so I reserved 6 and works out at like £17.60 each or something, cheapest I've bought them yet. Gotta keep adding them to the pile.1 point

Looks like last in first out applies to Bricks and Pieces as well since I ordered right before they went out of stock!1 point

Here is the Brick Show building the Batpod, at the end they show the finished set. It could just be the lighting but I am surprised at some of the color choices and I think I may also make some color modifications. I will have to wait and see how it looks next to the Tumbler.1 point

I'm going to try both the black and gray wheels and see which I like better. Yes, I bought both.1 point

Haha, yeah, I wasn't sure before, but that's the one I returned. I believe Jerryherb told you to check to make sure the "jerk face" that returned it, didn't steal all the minifigs. Glad to see I'm not a "jerk face" ...at least for not stealing minifigs.1 point

Two things: 1) The "brand new sealed" 9493 x-wing I got from Blinq a week ago arrived today. The box was pretty beat up and the seals were opened of course. All contents were inside and the instruction manual was brand new. I'd return it but it only cost me $52. It would be stupid to return it.... wouldn't it?.... 2) My Raptor Rampage (order placed 9/4) arrived yesterday with seal code 37R5, which was only funny because my Bricks and Pieces order (ALSO placed 9/4) also arrived yesterday with a seal code. It was 36R5. The way Raptor Escape keeps popping up on SAH combined with the almost futuristic seal code on the Rampage leads me to believe that Jurassic World is coming back hard. And soon.1 point

Amazon claims that they keep track of your item regardless of whether or not you sticker your items . I prefer to sticker mine alt bought commingled makes packing a darn quick process.1 point

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. You don't have to label them if you don't mind getting your stuff thrown in with mixed inventory. If you want your sets stored and shipped, they require a label, so they can tie the item back to you.1 point

If i had to guess I'd say the majority of new re-sellers either dont have a strategy or dont have the patience to hold onto sets for the long term. All depends on what your strategy & goals are but if it were me I'd wait on the initial quick flippers to clear out and take there few % gain and hold on. But say you stock up on SW and next xmas its EOL and going for 2 x RRP... might be too soon but if there was some other set that caught my eye I'd flip it right there Personally if you buy a set for the long haul then I'd ignore all the QFLL noise you're bound to get and just keep the end goal in mind.1 point

So I'm in Asda ( our Walmart for you Americans) just picking up some odds and ends tonight, anyway in this random corner I spotted like several cases of series 13 minifigures, which looked untouched, and seeing as how they just cleared all the Simpsons series 2 down to £1, I figured I'd grab one and price check, long story short they were £1 each, so I ended up with 3 full boxes. Good random score.1 point

Which is why the leaked info should be taken with a pinch of salt. Heck, we are only weeks away from Hoth release and details of that are just as sketchy.....1 point

My partner is taking a six month sabbatical (she's a prof) and we're going to Perpignan France for 6.5 months. Was going to post about it closer to as we don't officially have our French visas yet. France isn't part of the British commonwealth so it's a ton of stupid paperwork!1 point

I just have to say, I do reuse boxes some, but I do like having certain sizes of boxes, new, folded, in stacks. I hate searching for the right size box, since I usually pack stuff up after the kids go to bed. If I have an inventory of boxes in the right size, I can just grab a set off the shelf and throw it in the perfect size box for it's dimensions, tape, print, label and go, no searching necessary.1 point

My used Ewok Village sans minifigs arrived last week. Sorted the pieces over the course of the week then built up the village on Friday night. It lasted less than 24 hours where I dismantled it and put the purchase to it's real purpose. Saw this in the MOCs thread a couple months back and fell in love with it, had to have one. I present my personal edition of the 10236 UCS Lord of the Rings Ent!1 point

Was thinking today about the actual meaning of some of the language Lego uses to market its products and started to come up with a list. If anyone has any more examples or explanations, it would be great to share them! LIMITED EDITION (We will produce as many of these as we can until people stop buying them and to screw with resellers´ brains) RETIRING SOON (We have far too many unsold units out back due to pesky resellers inflating our initial sales estimates. Come on guys, buy them now so we don´t have to discount them) EXTRA VIP POINTS ON THIS ITEM (I thought we told you it was retiring soon. Are you dumb? Come on now, buy a few and don´t make us have to discount it). SALES AND DEALS (Ok, you made us do it. Take 50% off all sold out items and 10% off Chima. There, now don´t keep complaining that Lego is expensive - it´s not Megablocks. Are you a reseller or something?) VIP REWARD POINTS (Like any addictive substance, this will make you keep coming back for more and more from us. And as with drugs, when you pass away, there will still be some left in the system) EXCLUSIVE (These products have a high PPC count and are usually not available outside the Lego web for the first 3 or 4 months since release. After that, anyone except the riff raff at Amazon can sell them) ARCHITECTURE (These products have an even higher PPC count and are so expensive that we actually need the riff raff at Amazon to sell them. Mainly bought by adults who live in mansions and employ domestic servants to open the box and sort the parts for them) CLASSIC (Our designers have better things to do than dream up new sets all day. Here, take these random bricks and make your own stuff). IDEAS (When you get good at CLASSIC, send us your best models and we will put them in a shiny box and sell them to greedy resellers for you. (See LIMITED EDITION) RETIRED PRODUCT (You won´t ever be able to buy this from us again - unless it is a XMAS set or we decide to unretire it). SOLD OUT (Resellers, we are mocking you! Is it retired or just out of stock? You will be making long car journeys and spending hours on the net trying to make your number - enjoy your weekend!) TEMPORARILY OUT OF STOCK (This item has become more popular than we estimated or those pesky resellers have been at it again. We will probably make more in a few weeks time so be patient and buy Chima in the meantime) CALL TO CHECK FOR AVAILABILITY (Laszlo from the warehouse says there are none left down there but the computer says we have a couple of boxes more. I think they are in the boss´s office but he is in there with the secretary so we have to wait a while till they go out for lunch to check)1 point

VIP points are NOT a discount. They are "virtual cash back" when you spend real cash. You have to think about them differently than a 5% discount.1 point
