I picked up a TRU exclusive set 66536, it combines 75110 Luke and 75111 Vader buildable figures. Comes with a poster. This one didn't appear to leak, can't find any previous mention of it on the internet, but it is on the TRU Canada site now (I bought mine in WA). http://www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=673642864 points

Low risk , good margins and people will buy these continuously as they can't just buy 1 off of SAH for $10, they would spend 18ish with tax and shipping. So there is always value in them from the get go. Any leftovers you save for the following season and make combos. A lot of people aren't like us that buy $75 to get free shipping and promos. They just want that one small set to put on display for the holiday. I try to get at least 200 of each seasonal set. Sometimes not all up front but on the back end at clearance as well for the following year. Bats at $5 were a great investment last year and are already pulling $15 again. Combo up with the new one for $35 on a $15 investment. Takes a little pre-planning as well to make the combos work.3 points

PS is an outstanding modular. It's also unique, in that it's 2 separate buildings, one of which can be repeated multiple times to great effect. It's not crazy to think about 2 or 3x of these for your modular layout, they're that versatile (including doubling the width of the Pet Shop itself). For this reason, I see PS (and GE for additional floors) as especially good modulars in the long-run for future AFOL.3 points

Go to Problem -> Order -> and file a Non-Shipping Seller action. Likely that will get you a response quickly.2 points

I had "quoted" your pic of the Agents ship, but the pic got lost somehow. All I meant is the Agents ship looked like the anti- Dolphin Cruiser. I've always liked the Agents stuff. I wish more folks did (and it would be great if Lego actually marketed it).2 points

I received some stuff from shopgoodwill and I was delighted at how little was missing from this. http://www.shopgoodwill.com/viewItem.asp?ItemID=23537592 only missing a hose from the Midi Falcon and instruction book 1 from the other kit. Now to see what is missing from this http://www.shopgoodwill.com/viewItem.asp?ItemID=23489302 there wound up being a lot more minifigures in that pile than I originally thought.2 points

I had the day off work today and built the mystery machine and haunted lighthouse during a scooby-foo marathon with the little guy. The MM is pretty resilient. My 3yr old hasn't stopped playing with it (minus dinner time) for 6hrs now!2 points

I thought I would resurrect this thread since its been a year since this debacle took place. I'm happy to report that I'm back on eBay and sales are picking up! I want to thank everyone in this thread for their advice, reassurance, and support. It turns out the best advice was just to lay low for a while and use my original account when the time felt right. I started selling on eBay in May. The summer was slow but things started to really pick up towards the end of August. So far I've sold a SSD, a Lone Ranger polybag, and a few sets in between. It's been fun a ride so far. Thanks again to everyone on Brickpicker. I would have been lost without your advice and input. What a great community we have here. I am grateful to be a part of it.2 points

Thanks guys, just got 120 cmf from Sainsbury's , got to learn to smoosh now...never been that good at doing that!1 point

None of the Targets or Walgreens in a ten mile radius of me got the Monster minifigs. The Target stores that didn't have any minifigs on the shelf showed hundreds in stock. When the employees went to the back to look, all they found were Simpsons series 2 that had been received ages ago, tucked behind other stuff, and never put out on the shelf. I was told when their stock gets lower the computer will order. Hope someone buys those Simpsons minifigs soon! I don't want them!1 point

This was the same for me. I grabbed a sealed box of series 12, they cut it open and rang through each poly. I took them home, smooshed my 16 and out of spite, returned the other 44. The manager was not impressed.1 point

Warehouse park/office addresses. Another common location is Portland, OR. FWIW, I haven't had a problem with these buyers yet. They usually leave good feedback, too.1 point

Back in the old days I once bought almost 300 Team GB minifigures, when they where quid each at Smyths. Woman asks me why are you buying so many, I just said I work for a kids charity and these are going in their goody bags, seemed to work. If she only knew the money I made on them1 point

of the new SW sets only ones I have found not marked are: 2015 advent (http://www.kmart.com/lego-174-star-wars-episode-7-advent-calendar/p-004W006973426001P?prdNo=26&blockNo=26&blockType=G26) and the lower priced figures 75110 Luke http://www.kmart.com/lego-174-star-wars-luke-skywalker-8482-75110/p-004W006973433001P?prdNo=25&blockNo=25&blockType=G25 75108 cody http://www.kmart.com/lego-174-star-wars-clone-commander-cody-8482-75108/p-004W006973429001P?prdNo=27&blockNo=27&blockType=G27 75107 jango http://www.kmart.com/lego-174-star-wars-clone-commander-cody-8482-75108/p-004W006973429001P?prdNo=27&blockNo=27&blockType=G27 these will be interesting to watch, since with SYW you can often pull 50% off or better. So far I have picked up 2 advents at $42 + 20 in points. Now to wait on some better coupons.1 point

To think some people would be grateful just to have a simple polybag. For $350, I'd be taking care of that model day & night just like Randy Marsh did with his big crap. The crash at 0:55 sounded the worst. You could feel the hard smack of all those pieces.1 point

I built a Midi Millennium Falcon to verify that all the parts were in the box.1 point

Yeah, really bad time to put a no min auction out on these. The next 2 months or so will be riding out the worst of the storm - the problem is that the idea of keeping this set for years to come (at the risk of only achieving very marginal gains) is fine for an emazers, who appears to have no liquidity problems, but not so great for those who want to pick up the items that will retire in the last quarter or increase their portfolios for xmas.1 point

The fact that it's 2 buildings makes it unique, and gives you more different ways to arrange your modulars in a row. The biggest reason that people like it is simply because it's a modular. When there are only ~4 available at any given time, and the retired ones get expensive quickly, people who want to have a modular street are somewhat 'forced' to buy what's available to them. Having built several modulars, I personally find the Pet Shop to be the worst of the bunch, but even a bad modular is still a decent set.1 point

I've sold two complete sets of Series 13 minifigures & one set of Lego Movie minifigures in the past ~24 hours. I think the Series 14 release must have sparked a little interested in past sets.1 point
-
Take with a grain of salt, but I just got off phone with LEGO CS asking if Series 14 minifigures is really done (e.g. no more from shop at home) and the rep told me that they should be back in stock within 2 weeks. Played the part of the concerned father of little Timmy, worried he wouldn't get his zombie cheerleader without his father having to step foot in a target or walmart and that I preferred to buy them from shop at home with VIP.1 point

I doubt it. Almost all of the completed sales in the past month are from one seller, a member here, with multiple listings and I was able to sneak a few sales in. 80% or more of the buyers of this set on eBay are from outside the USA where the set is not available and TRU online/eBay are not an option unless they are using a FF. I sold all but one of mine using GSP. It's a great set, fun build, and looks awesome but I don't see it getting over $150 people will just buy something else. However I did think about buying all of these from TRU a few weeks ago the last time it went to Sold Out at LEGO Shop at Home but luckily my backers were indecisive and by the time the decision was made to pass it returned. I still think it screams buy me1 point

Can't believe I'm the first to mention this. It came out this past week. First, the Trickster minifig is awesome. He looks great. And does play a role in the film. The kids and I watched it this morning. Lots of fun. A few references to the Challenge of the Super Friends cartoons, with the Legion of Doom, and the sound effects. We need more of these movies. And we need more of the minifigs that show up in these films.1 point

Typically I don't take the time to get on every forum, but since there were so many sales within hours of listing the pre-order, I assumed investors were responsible. Hopefully I can address a few concerns briefly. I have attached a photo that will hopefully show more clearly how everything is shipped. Labels are affixed to the boxes exactly as they are received, and larger orders will even receive double boxing. We pride ourselves with never opening the original shipping boxes. Anything that looks remotely damaged will be opened and parted out, so you receive the best boxes. Fortunately we have increased supply for this series, anticipating a higher demand (as is typical when there are figures involving an upcoming holiday), but that is very true. We have expanded to Amazon this summer as well, and if sales continue the way they are over the next 48 hours, you will see the price increase. Shipping date is expected to be around the 17th or 18th of September to be more precise, but because we cannot make promises on that date, it is stated as "late September."1 point
