Don't recall anyone else discussing this, so I apologize if this is old news. Has any seen the traveling LEGO Americana Roadshow that's currently on tour at various malls across America this year? It's currently at the Riverchase Galleria in Birmingham. I only had time to snap quick iPhone pics of 4/9 attractions, but I plan to go back Labor Day Weekend with my camera for a complete documentation.2 points

I've done a few 20's with no issue when limits are 99 and full price. If its clearance I've bumped it up some as generaly theory is they are trying to move product. yeah no way it holds once full release but 18-20 is feasible for people that don't have LEGO around and don't want to order but 1 set without making a $75 order for free shipping through LEGO Shop at Home they figure 10 + 6 + tax is about 18 so they will go for them even if in stock2 points

Got the 10228 Haunted House last night from Amazon that I order maybe 2 weeks back. The box was opened previously. The seal was tampered with so I opened it up to check. 2 bags missing from 21 bags (1 bag 2 and 1 bag 3). Lego is shipping the missing parts to me after I gave them a call. I couldn't get myself to return it after HH made so much money for me this year. After talking to Amazon on chat, they gave me 30% off. I may end up building it in October then sell it after.2 points

So just got back from Legoland and they had several RE on the shelf, I visit nearly weekly and they have had hardly any JW but this week they had quite a bit! So the seal codes were.....drum roll 20R15 ...... still shipping out the old sets! They either had them for a while and didn't put them out or Lego is still getting rid of all its stock! I picked up another 4!2 points

Goodwill is a charity, but, at what point do you draw the line? If I had received an equal value lamp, should I just try to sell that to recoup my money? The auction site does allow for returns if the item is SNAD. Which is what this came down to. Yes, I could have accepted a refund down from $225 to $111 (the difference in the two auctions), and then made an attempt to recover my costs. But what if I wasn't it in for the resell opportunities? Then I'd be stuck with a whole lot of stuff I didn't want. I'm not asking for anything outside of their rules for playing on the auction site. I'm just asking them to play by the same rules that they agree to play by.2 points

Sold a 21303 Wall-E for $91 + shipping on ebay. After fees, etc, made about $29 profit =~ 57% (+ TRU rewards). I was gonna put this story in "what did you buy today", but I sold it too quick... 2 days ago, I was at my TRU where I met a fellow BP'er (I think). He looked like me... walking back-and-forth in the Lego aisle... looking at his phone... so I said something like , "Hey! You look like a Lego collector / investor." He confirmed. I said, "Do you follow Brickpicker?" ... he said 'yes'. I said, "Me too! I'm Ken-triple-x !" And he told me his name... but I didn't quite hear it correctly. Sure I could've asked again, but I felt maybe I was already giving off a bit of a 'weirdo' vibe.... introducing myself that way... is this guy even really a Brickpicker? ... or is he just humoring me before he calls for store security? So anyway, I let it go... then I saw what he had in his hands... "They've got Wall-E here?!" He said yes, this was the last one, but he wasn't too sure about keeping it... looking at his phone some more... he then offered it to me. But I said, "Nah... I think I'll wait on this one... not sure that I really need to buy that right now." So he put it back on the shelf and walked out. I stood there and thought about it for another minute... decided to pick it up with my 20% off coupon (out the door $51). Wasn't sure it'd be a good flip right now, but thought we might build it at home. As I was going through checkout, I saw the mystery Brickpicker going back to the Lego section again (maybe he, too, changed his mind)? Anyway, I got home, and saw prices on ebay and... "flip, flip, flipadelphia!" So ... thank you mystery Brickpicker... I owe you one.2 points

$5 rewards, 10% TRU cc, and Raise GC for a Big Bang Theory today from TRU. Comes out to like $50 after WA state 9% tax. My mom loves the show and is coming to visit in a couple of weeks, so my son will build this with Grandma. :-)1 point

When I say I love classic cars, I really do mean 'classic'. I know LEGO is blocky by default but still to see a beauty like this as a large scale model would be something alright.1 point

I'd buy a sealed case right now for about 210 to 220 if that includes relatively reasonable shipping. 2 years from now a sealed set would be worth around 180 to 200 if the market holds up at current rates. That would leave 2 complete sets, 1 complete simpsons (5 family members plus 2 pets), plus a handful of others to sell individually. I don't think you could lose money on it. A complete set of simpsons series 1 is almost at 2x from original RRP from last year. I've managed to cherry pick 2 sets of simpsons series recently, one of which we opened for our collection, and am trying to complete a third complete set, but need a few figures to finish it. Regardless, i'm sold on the simpsons lines. I think there will be a 3rd line sometime, but not sure it will go beyond that.1 point

As I am awaiting the 7-10 day period for TRU to sort out one of the mysteriously disappearing balance gift cards, my buck was limited today. If I'm not getting coupon + TRUTH 10% + discounted gift cards, then I'm getting cheated at TRU.1 point

Given Manhattan real estate values, Disney could build a SSD for less than it would cost to buy Manhattan. As an added bonus, they wouldn't have to deal with DeBlasio...1 point

Someone at Disney must have relished purchasing SW after their (Disney's) entry into space fantasy, The Black Hole, failed to gain much traction vs. ESB at the theater back in '79/80. Maybe I'm just a big geek, but all is not rainbow's and musicals in Disney's world. The Black Hole was weird and dark--any movie with a robot voiced by Slim Pickens is all right with me... even if it's no astromech.1 point
