My opinion isn't as popular because at this point in the game I would suggest that people buy less of everything. And not because I want it for myself. I'm taking my own advice.3 points

Isn't the advice exactly the same for every exclusive? Not sure why anyone would need to request the opinion since it's been posted dozens of times.3 points

Just picked up my first EEE (10241). 20% off plus the pirate promo, finally made it a buy for me. looking at prices on amazon and ebay, im tempted to grab more.3 points

Finally picked up the Mystery Machine in-person. Actually, 4 of them. 2 will be built. Went to a toy show today and picked up a complete / used 10228 Haunted House with the box for $275. It also included 3 random CMFs worth about $8 each and that 2012 Season Witch / Zombie Halloween set.3 points

As some of you know, I spent the last year writing a new book that teaches LEGO through architecture. The initial reaction to the book has been tremendous, with favorable feedback from folks at archdaily, brickset, uncrate, and best of the web @ architecture.com. (You can learn more about the book here.) I just noticed a huge drop in the preorder price @ amazon.com US, which might be interesting to folks looking for a good deal. The MSRP is 24.95, but the current price is 40% off at just 15.05$. Amazon changes prices frequently, so the low price may not last. I'm new to this forum, but not to forums in general. Whether it is lego, photography or cars, the psychology remains the same. John states his opinion, Jack counters it and both type their keyboards warm believing they're convincing each other of their own opinions. Many replies later, both leave the argument with the exact same sentiments they entered. Forums are an amazing source of information, but can also be an amazing waste of time. I was just adding some info that may be of value. As Ciglione mentions, our market is microscopic and the shops aren't wary of brickvestors. There might be 5 of in the whole country and I doubt anyone is spending close to what I am. Anyway, I only have one TB and won't be able to get another. I went to buy 2 ToO's and left with 5 ToO's, 3 PC and 2 VW campers...not sure if that's a good or a bad way to start the week!2 points

Exactly what I came here to post. My son is building this, as we had a "boat day" after a month long Lego organizing project. This was the reward, and my daughter got the Dolphin Cruiser. For the money this set is simply amazing, great figs, great details, and a pretty dang large ship. My son is 7 and a pretty good builder, but no problems with it so far.2 points

wow incredible deals ! I do not have any LM or Mixel deals but I did purchase 44 MM 2 in store and 42 on the way. It would have been 45 except there was a middle age guy looking really sad when I had the 3 in the cart along with some other sets I was getting and I said would you like one of them and he looked really excited so I gave him one. he was not a flipper but a true middle aged fan. trek has a heart.2 points

UA Ocean HQ. I haven't built let alone bought anything in this theme but when I saw Jangs review it got me. I was able to pick it up at TRUT for $60 and for that price not only is it a great build but nice display and awesome play set. It is very similar to building the tumbler not just because it is black but it has a technic core with many neat building techniques at different angles to complete the set. It does not have hull pieces like a traditional ship so at 1204 pieces you get a lot for your money. Also it is heavy and almost 2 feet long. I even applied the stickers. The side panels open up like Jabbas sail barge to reveal Accesories and play areas. I will include a pic so you know what set I am talking about but it probably won't do it justice. I swapped out all the Trans orange and some of the white with Trans light blue and I have a BL order on the way to finish off the main Gatling gun in Trans light blue. Up next is the DBZ2 points

A user on Reddit posted a photo of shelf tags at TRU showing a $59.99 price tag for the Doctor Who set. No set number or street date info yet.1 point

Let it go, save your karma for when you have a problem you really need them to fix. My two mystery machines shipped from Kmart. Assuming they really are mystery machines. Edit: paragraph breaks would be so nice...1 point

Picked up a Series 13 Minifig blind bag (Hotdog Suit guy). Batman: The Riddler Chase, and The Doc Oct Truck Heist set. My first two Super Hero's sets. They look pretty Rad! Felt a little obligated to purchase them because they were on clearance, got all three things for 30USD. I'm pretty excited about them though!1 point

This is one big set my wife demanded I get for my kid to play with down the road. It's a big play set and from the OT. And it's not going to be as hoarded as some others. It's going to be at $500 in two xmas if it is EOL now. Watch.1 point

Saw it up on ITunes on Saturday, but haven`t rented it yet. May have to do that this week. Will report back later once viewed Yeah from the little info I`ve seen it looks really promising, glad to see that you enjoyed it! People who aren`t familiar with the hobby often make the assumption that it`s a kids toy, we have all experienced that, but nothing could be further from the truth. Lego is for anyone, anywhere, that just wants to __________ (fill in the blank: educated, play, created, build, imagine, etc.).1 point

Although we all know we have to take lego employees's statements with a grain of sault. I tend to have more faith in the statement of lego store employees in South-Africa than in the statements of European or US Lego employees. I am confident enoiugh to state the reseller community in South-Africa is not as big as in the US and Europe. So I might conclude that the employees there are still innocent and tell the truth. At least as far as they know and are told.1 point

go check the "what I heard from a Lego Store employee..." thread for all the erroneous misinformation LS employees have provided over the years. It's truly hilarious, especially with the benefit of hindsight.1 point

Bionicle, Hero Factory, and maybe even a couple parts from the large scale figures for Knights Kingdom from some years ago. There are plenty on the outer shell I can tell who or what it is from but as for the 'innards' I would not have a clue where to start. I further explored that artist's gallery and really dug this mecha. Nidoking by Stormbringer1 point

I remember the community talking about those at a time when there wasn't even a slight mention of Scooby-Doo possibly becoming a LEGO theme but merely a dream. Cobi also originally had the Doctor Who license too. Now here we are with both properties being under LEGO's belt. Ah how things have turned for the better.1 point

That's a new line up. For Elves, there's been questions as to whether there would be an Emily Jones set, so it's nice to see that happening. I wonder if the Palace Pets set will be a Duplo set or fit into the regular line. My 7 year old daughter loves Palace Pets, so I'm hopeful it won't be Duplo. Friends has me intrigued and worried. Yet another Cafe/Bakery type set in the Cupcake Cafe. That's a bummer. However, the Party sets and the Archery set has me interested. And there's another Tree House. After the last one eluded me for so long, I'll probably buy this one soon after it's arrival. The only thing missing from the "girls" list is the DC Super Hero Girls line.1 point

Update: The vintage lot came in. Weighed 20lb 12.4 oz. I emailed the seller and presented my argument. I initially asked for $69 off the lot price. He came back to saying he weighed the lot on his bathroom scale. We agreed to split the diff of his first offer of $50 and my request of 69. I ended up with $59 off, so the lot only cost me $191. As for the lot all vintage, looks like a near complete 6080, 6085, 6074, 6274, blacktron 6954, possible police station of the same era, space shuttle and more I havehave yet to identify. Some classic space is also in there. Aside from the general dust and dirtiness, I am very pleased. Based on the photos it was great guess on the content of the lot After cleaning and pulling sets ugh, I hope to clear 4-6 times my money. Not accounting for the hours and hours of work ahead.1 point

This is actually about a week or maybe two old now, so not 'built today' but built recently! I'd mentioned plans of doing this in a few other threads during the spring. Finally finished my first iteration. This is my modular Bike Shop & Cafe, comprised of 3 copies of the 31026, plus a tiny handful of extra bricks from my own collection. I googled other people's variations on this set, and I think mine came out quite unique; I was going for the older building look that fits the early 1900s (and other modulars) for the shops on the ground floor, but wanted to do a 'new reno' flat on the upper floor. I managed to keep a handful of the original set's features present on the ground floor, but went full custom on the next floor. The modernized hipster flat is complete with an eco-friendly green-roof, providing fresh produce for the chef next door at Chez Albert. One may also note the owner of the flat has purchased some of the abstract art from the painter that lives next door too... [did I go too far? lol] My images are too large to fit in one post... Edit: and now I can't upload any more? Guess this is all you get. I have a whole wack of shots of the inside, everything is fully furnished. Aw well.1 point

Retirement I believe is something even Lego cannot plan. They can plan a last production. Not retirement. Retirement date depends on how quickly or how slowly a product gets scooped up after ceasing production. When Lego is totally out of stock of the product they can declare it retired. I have no information about if PC will retire soon or production has stopped for this set. Either I do have no information it does not. TH also did not reveal imminent retirement at the start. People who thought it would retire cause they maybe had some slight indications were ridiculed. We all know how that evolved. Let's just wait and see what happens and keep an open mind about every set. No matter their order of appearance or common sense. And certainly do not ridicule people who express their feeling, hunches or other signs.1 point
