My opinion isn't as popular because at this point in the game I would suggest that people buy less of everything. And not because I want it for myself. I'm taking my own advice.

Isn't the advice exactly the same for every exclusive? Not sure why anyone would need to request the opinion since it's been posted dozens of times.

Just picked up my first EEE (10241). 20% off plus the pirate promo, finally made it a buy for me. looking at prices on amazon and ebay, im tempted to grab more.

Finally picked up the Mystery Machine in-person. Actually, 4 of them. 2 will be built. Went to a toy show today and picked up a complete / used 10228 Haunted House with the box for $275. It also included 3 random CMFs worth about $8 each and that 2012 Season Witch / Zombie Halloween set.

The smell of over potential

I'm new to this forum, but not to forums in general. Whether it is lego, photography or cars, the psychology remains the same. John states his opinion, Jack counters it and both type their keyboards warm believing they're convincing each other of their own opinions. Many replies later, both leave the argument with the exact same sentiments they entered. Forums are an amazing source of information, but can also be an amazing waste of time. I was just adding some info that may be of value. As Ciglione mentions, our market is microscopic and the shops aren't wary of brickvestors. There might be 5 of in the whole country and I doubt anyone is spending close to what I am. Anyway, I only have one TB and won't be able to get another. I went to buy 2 ToO's and left with 5 ToO's, 3 PC and 2 VW campers...not sure if that's a good or a bad way to start the week!

Exactly what I came here to post. My son is building this, as we had a "boat day" after a month long Lego organizing project. This was the reward, and my daughter got the Dolphin Cruiser. For the money this set is simply amazing, great figs, great details, and a pretty dang large ship. My son is 7 and a pretty good builder, but no problems with it so far.

Picked up my first Tower Bridge at the Baltimore Lego store. Also picked up some other misc smaller sets in the area (Ant Man, MM, Cantina).

wow incredible deals ! I do not have any LM or Mixel deals but I did purchase 44 MM 2 in store and 42 on the way. It would have been 45 except there was a middle age guy looking really sad when I had the 3 in the cart along with some other sets I was getting and I said would you like one of them and he looked really excited so I gave him one. he was not a flipper but a true middle aged fan. trek has a heart.

UA Ocean HQ. I haven't built let alone bought anything in this theme but when I saw Jangs review it got me. I was able to pick it up at TRUT for $60 and for that price not only is it a great build but nice display and awesome play set. It is very similar to building the tumbler not just because it is black but it has a technic core with many neat building techniques at different angles to complete the set. It does not have hull pieces like a traditional ship so at 1204 pieces you get a lot for your money. Also it is heavy and almost 2 feet long. I even applied the stickers. The side panels open up like Jabbas sail barge to reveal Accesories and play areas. I will include a pic so you know what set I am talking about but it probably won't do it justice. I swapped out all the Trans orange and some of the white with Trans light blue and I have a BL order on the way to finish off the main Gatling gun in Trans light blue. Up next is the DBZ

I'd be interested in what Mos_Eisley thinks about the set and just go with whatever his gut feeling is. If I'd have put 20k in the last 2 years in whatever Mos_Eisley's said I know I'd be up 20k

Way bigger than I thought too! This looks great! My kids and I will definitely love this. Will pick up at least one to open and a few to hold.

For me, a Steampunk line would be unfortunate if it took away from what was seemingly going to be a return to Fantasy Era. Arguably the best Castle theme to date. I do think some of the contraptions MOC'rs come up with in this realm are really cool, but I'd never buy them I don't think. Same reason I don't have any Metalbeard ships. If it turns out to be "space knights" like some of the anime stuff posted above, that would be the easiest pass for me since Galaxy Squad.

I watched it last night and thought it was quite dull to be honest. It came across as a corporate video presentation for the most part, which I suppose is what it is really. It seemed to be aimed more at attracting new people into Lego, which is understandable, so I didn't feel like I was learning anything new. I would have liked to have heard more from enthusiasts rather than people from Lego rattling off the usual company lines. It did feature a few AFOLS and some of it was interesting though. I was a little unsure about the section on autistic kids using Lego as therapy. I've no doubt it can be beneficial which is great, but get concerned when corporate brands get involved with health issues. Is Lego any more beneficial in this regard than Mega Bloks for instance? And who is funding the research? Anyone into Lego would get something from it though, so it's worth a look. FWIW I much preferred the recent Secret World Of Lego documentary from Channel 4 (UK) which was much more interesting and had a different angle.

I wouldn't consider it a big surprise, but I'm certainly not buying one based on a Lego Store employee's recommendation. Time and again these guys have given buyers incorrect information - all chronicled in the other thread - regardless of where on the planet they live. I'm not calling anyone a liar, I just don't believe anything any LS employee reportedly says regarding retirement. Others are free to do as they please.

Or in layman's terms... A set retires when stock runs out and LEGO decided it doesn't want to have another production run.

I've come to the conclusion Lego can't meet demand. Too many people on this globe can gobble up thousands of sets in an instance. This is making me really reconsider the entire "episode 7 sets are going to be flooded all over the planet" mantra. Maybe they'll attempt that, but fall very short. It could very much happen. Seems this is the case with most everything they put out now. They would have to attempt to produce 100's of thousands of copies to flood demand in a world of 7 billion, and maybe they just can't do that sort of capacity.

First for me on ebay. I asked a seller the condition of a comic. Their response was to look at the scans. I asked sometimes it is hard to ascertain condition just by picks and if there are any bends or other blemishes. Their response "Please do not bid on it. Not for you". Nothing like standing by your product and customer support.

I had someone ask me for some pictures of my 10179 wall mounted and directed him to this thread, but he told me the pictures were broken/not found.. and so they are! Maybe the forum move broke/lost them or wherever i hosted them from (can't remember) had a problem. I've taken a couple new photos as i can't find the old ones. I have not touched the thing in almost a year now. It shows no signs of warping or anything. Still the best display piece i have imo. everyone we have over loves it. I can't edit my OP to re-include them; so i'll just add them here. If a mod wants to/can move them to the OP that would be great (not sure that's possible).

Completed the TB yesterday, took about 9 hours total. This set is very large when completed and looks amazing. I found this to be the most challenging/annoying build thus far....not because of the difficulty, but the sorting involved! Over 4000 pieces, and the bags were not numbered! I guess they didn't bother numbering bags for the older sets, there didn't seem to be much logic with the various pieces in the bags. Stopping every few minutes to look for that "one" piece was annoying. Here is a better pic.

Great looking set. My family like the movie as well. It's one of those movies that starts slow, but if you give it a chance, it really is well done IMO. The more I watched it, the more I liked and appreciated it.
