I don't think so. The Mystery Machine is an iconic pop culture vehicle that will appeal to fans of all ages. I rank it right up there with the Ecto-1 and Delorean. They can make as many as they want. This set will be a winner now, tomorrow, next month, and several years down the road.8 points

There are many types of members on brickpcker. Calling many members names or stereotyping others motives is in my opinion uncool.7 points

wow incredible deals ! I do not have any LM or Mixel deals but I did purchase 44 MM 2 in store and 42 on the way. It would have been 45 except there was a middle age guy looking really sad when I had the 3 in the cart along with some other sets I was getting and I said would you like one of them and he looked really excited so I gave him one. he was not a flipper but a true middle aged fan. trek has a heart.5 points

2 Lego stores 1 LDC 13 TRU ~45 Targets (I'm near most on a more or less monthly basis - the stock tracker is a godsend!) Not going to count the Walmarts, sorry... I have an odd work schedule and drive around a bit anyway, so there are a great number of retail locations that are not "out of the way" at some point or another. And as I stated in the Target thread, this year is much tougher than last in terms of lack of clearance Lego being left on the shelves... but that's good because it helps me stay conservative.2 points

we use the chalk line system here. A few stores get dicey but I let mykingdomforabrick keep the Frozen aisles and all is good.2 points

I don't see why not. The Imperial Star Destroyer has a still exclusive Imperial Officer, the Millennium Falcon has a Han Solo variant only available in one other set (the latest Mos Eisley Cantina), Clone Turbo Tank's soldier has a special helmet found here and the last Star Wars Advent Calendar, the TIE Interceptor's pilot also exclusive here and the 2014 Star Wars Advent Calendar, the X-Wing's pilot was an exclusive variant with new printing (torso & helmet), the AT-AT's driver limited to the Microfighter set and its larger latest version, same thing goes for the Republic Gunship's clone pilot, and to round up the ARC-170 Starfighter's clone pilot was an exclusive variant too. If LEGO is planning to design Microfighter sets around the Rebels universe, they could easily toss in any one of the main characters in there like Hera piloting her Ghost ship or The Inquisitor flying his TIE Advanced Prototype only in Microfighter form of course.2 points

I got 4 of these at K-Mart online. Finally something to spend points on. A good bet is 2 x MM per order. Nab a $5/off $50 or $10/back in points coupon at shop your way. Use $9.98 in points if you got em, to sit right at $50. Raise has 8% cards. Made my buy-in at $23 each. I opted for $10 back in points, and plan to parlay this over and over.1 point

In U.S. Out of stock, expected ship date Jan 08 2016 And now TMNT Turtle Van Takedown 79115 call to check @ LEGO Shop at Home...1 point

They are there. My dpci codes show them. I placed 5 orders in 5 separate stores. Two have been cancelled already. One is ready for pick up. I'm still waiting on the other two. For the stores that cancel them I am assuming that they haven't put them out yet and the employee filling the order is too lazy to look beyond the lego aisle for them.1 point

same thing here. Just noticed target.com showing inventory for all sets at my local store and online. I really want a Mystery Machine for a build review topic here so I placed 2 orders of 1 set each (online and in-store pickup). http://goto.target.com/c/65738/81938/2092?u=www.target.com/p/lego-scooby-doo-the-mystery-machine-75902/-/A-21506194 update: target (w/ my permission) changed my in-store pick-up option to shipping. it appears the store doesn't have them. so i am trying TRU now get a single set since i have $5 in rewards.1 point

Good to see more Elves sets being designed for release. The current ones have a fantastic assortment of parts in many colors including numerous transparencies and I imagine these will help further extend such options. Nice.1 point

All the Scooby Doo sets are either here or will be by Monday afternoon except the van. That will take a week. The sets will be used as birthday and Xmas presents plus school awards for the kids. I did manage to order 1 van and 1 plane for me.1 point

They may or may not restock this one in small quantities, but the bottom line is: If you want it, buy it now from wherever you can get it. With all the more lucrative themes on Lego's plate right now, they're not going to waste production capacity on LotR.1 point

Transformers age of extinction made more money than any of the prequels and that's one of the worst movies ever made, and Alice in Wonderland made more money that episodes 2 and 3. Look, there are some things I like about the prequels. The actual story is pretty good. It's the stale execution, editing and wooden acting that ruined them. There are some cool lightsaber battles and Darth Maul is awesome....but man, there are just too many brutal scenes. I'm a HUGE Star Wars fan, and I appreciate the prequels for what they added to the canon but they aren't great films. Episode 3 came close.1 point

If you are really interested in the history of Star Wars and how it all came together there is a fascinating book called how Star Wars Conquered the Universe by Chris Taylor. It is really a great book if you are at all interested in Star Wars and film. And it really goes into all the things you're talking about regarding George Lucas and his rise to power and how that actually ended up making the prequels lesser films. Also, if you're looking for a weekly Star Wars YouTube show that is a lot of fun check out Collider's Jedi Council. I think it comes out on Wednesdays or Thursdays.1 point

That was the crux of the problem right there. GL wrote, directed, produced, and even edited ep 1-3 himself and nobody dared to challenge the big boss of Lucasfilms. Just look at the body languages of the staffs. Everyone waited for GL's reaction before reacting themselves. Ep 4 worked so well because GL had a team of professionals who argued with / challenged him on occasions.1 point

If you want to see a true cluster "F" watch the making of Episode 1 documentary. I watched it last night from the Amazon digital collection. They had a really good kid competing with Jake Lloyd and their decision to hire Lloyd was a huge mistake. Lucas is complimenting the actors and says "We have learned about Jake" not in a positive way. Look at the way Jake's 5 agents all pose around him and talk down to him, it's pathetic. Then he shows spielberg the battle droid and says "this is the next stormtrooper." Everything about those battle droids sucked, when they die on the battlefield nobody cares. When I was growing up, we all thought "Clone wars" was going to be a fight between awesome Jedis and a bunch of bounty hunters that looked like Boba Fett or cloned jedis, something interesting. Watching sterile white clones of jango fett fight boring robots was the worst possible interpretation of the clone wars I could imagine. Also in the doc, Lucas states that the whole movie hinges on Jar Jar. "If we can make Jar Jar work, we have a great film." This was a wealthy, middle aged man who hadn't done anything creative in decades with nobody to disagree with him or edit his terrible drafts. And I'm not saying middle aged men can't be creative - look at John Lassiter. Thank goodness he sold it to Disney. What they come out with this December can not possibly be worse than what Lucas would have done.1 point
