  1. Jeff and I have been told about a possible huge sales event Amazon is preparing for on July 15, 2015. We have a friend who works within the Robbinsville, NJ Amazon warehouse and they are ramping up for huge activity. My brother in law (who is a mailman) also let me know that they were told that the USPS was told to be prepared for double the Amazon shipments from July 13-18. A friend wrote me today to confirm our suspicions of a gigantic 20th Anniversary Sale that will discount many "Prime" items 25-50% OFF! While this is only a rumor at this point, it makes a lot of sense since Amazon's first day of business was July 16, 1995. There is too much smoke here for there not to be a fire. Get your wallets ready. If you are not a Prime member, now is the time to join.

I'll take Ed's cue and add a complaint When your son wants to know if the set you are in the process of purchasing is for playing or for selling in front of the Lego store manager.
  3. Thought I found my deal of the year last week on Kijiji with my SEALED Haunted House, Town hall, Fire brigade, and Pet Shop for $750.00 Today's find on Kijiji may have topped that: 1) UCS Imperial Star Destroyer 10030 2) USC Blockade Runner 10019 3) Jabba's Sail barge 6210 All 3 sets were built and 100% complete with near perfect condition instructions. Asking price was $440 for all. He accepted $350! Didn't think these kind of deals existed and yet I found 2 great finds in one week!
  4. Lol, this never ceases to amaze me... Had a Chima set new and unopened listed for $20 on a local Facebook group (about 400 pieces). No bites. I had a small stack of four of them. Opened two of them and dumped the Lego in a gallon bag and listed it again on Facebook group. Sold for $60. "Less than 8 cents a piece!

It's hidden in this picture... if you figure it out, you'll never question TRU shipping again.
  6. Prime Day? All we need now is Optimus Day
  7. Grand Carousel, Imperial Flagship, and UCS Falcon. I tell the story often that I would see the GC on display at Legoland California. Despite liking the set, and taking my (then 18 month old) daughter to Legoland all the time, I was still in my dark ages. I remember thinking "who would pay $250 for a Lego set?" *sigh* The Imperial Flagship because, after building the QAR, I've discovered I really like the Lego ships. And the UCS Falcon because, well, it's the MF. And it's a UCS. And it's big and awesome.
  8. Or "My wife kicks me out for spending too much on LEGO" Day
  9. I love to drive to Meijer at 6:00 am every January. I stop at the same gas station for coffee and play the same CD every year. It is fun, relaxing and like others said, there is the thrill of not knowing what awaits you inside the doors ( especially at the first stop). TRU is no different when they had the 20% coupon on clearance plus TRUTH, cant beat that. And for the heck of it, I drove all over the state once

Clutchers Field by Steven Schapansky (@Legopolis). I know him as host of Radio Free Skaro, a big Doctor Who podcast. But he's also quite the AFOL'er. He's spoken of his 10179 before. I also secretly believe he's a member of this site. Saw this on his Twitter page. It's outstanding.

He's not old enough to speak in code. He's very binary. Only acceptable answers are yes or no. I thought about playing dumb and pretending that I didn't hear the question, but realized he'd ask again, louder. I couldn't get out of there quick enough.

ROFL, ToysRUs now have this on its website for this sku "Limit 1 Item per customer"
  13. Just picked up this bad boy from Kijiji for $500 (used with all pieces and minifigs). Glad the seller was happy to recover his cost and I am happy for buying at retail price

I'd like to see the magic formula for that kind of fulfillment.
  15. In one transaction for $94.41 all 5 minifigs from Lonely Mountain, $12.99 each All good guy minifigs from Battle of Five Armies for $25 total (thorin, legolas, bard, dain)
  16. Another one was the new UCS Death Star rumor.
  17. OK... "amazonblkfri"... your first post in our community, and it is a shameless plug for your company... hmmm. Well, if you really work for Amazon you need to know that you don't have to encourage this group to watch for sales on your site... that's all we do.
  18. It's official. Called Prime Day. July 15. Check Amazon
  19. Made my 8th and final purchase today to complete my build of the Imperial Flagship #10210. Still don't have original instructions or a box, but I did manage to get all new parts and minifigures for about $285. Wish I wouldn't have been in my dark age when this set was available retail, but I just had to have it for my collection.
  20. I don't know about that. One mention of "senior discount" and he will leave us all to eat his dust.
  21. Yet another crackhead broke into a building on my property today. This one was wearing flipflops shorts and and a wife beater tan. Riddled with tattoos left behind his food stamp debit card fleeing when the alarm siren went off. No legos stolen or even seen by this guy. Should be easy to apprehend since I have his name... this one should appear on "dumbest criminals ever"... Later he came back and was looking for his card. Guess he got hungry. Cops were dispatched but he left before they arrived. Dumbest criminal ever.
  22. Good, I need some beef jerky.

thought it was strange no limit. Most polys have always been low like 1, 4 or 10 Just got a confirmation on one of the 100 orders that 93 shipped.
  24. 1 point
same here, 2 orders of 100 that just say "items located in stock" 1 order says 22 of 100 shipped Order of 500 says 315 cancelled, 184 located in stock. Guess 1 just didn't make the cut at all. Should of ordered 2700 instead and I would of received the 900 I wanted
  25. Why Unexpected Gathering? o.O As far as I know you can still get it for a reasonable price.
  26. You should be covered by PayPal and you have the funds in-hand. You could also require signature confirmation for peace of mind. An EBay buyer could also have zero feedback if they were buying via Guest checkout? I know I've shipped to a Chinese Restaurant in California at least once. A QAR and BP combo I believe.
  27. This is all over the home page on Amazon. No longer a secret.
  28. Thanks! Yes it is a nice wake-up. About how I got them I will have to take the fifth.
  29. And... just sold a 41063 Undersea Palace for 40 euro cash. 300% profit I will take any day!
  30. Sold a 7965 MF today for 195 euro cash. I have one left which I will keep till the end of days.
  31. Amazon's terms explicitly state that they don't such deals (http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201125450) and, to top it off, you say that you're proposing to buy from Amazon 100 copies of a set that has been retired for 6 months and isn't even available directly from Amazon. I don't know what your angle is, but I don't believe you.
  32. ....Flat Iron? What's a Flat Iron?
  33. The funny thing is that I dont live in a ghetto, but on a main road where everyone can see my car has not moved when I was away for 3 weeks. This happened a day of my return trip home. Luckily a friend of mine is a contractor so he fixed the lock hours aftet the first visit and I got a kickars surveilance/alarm system so I knew he was there seconds after it happened quater a world around. Anybody pick up the horizon expresses from tru in la laguna/tenerife?
  34. I enjoy the stories, but the crackheads can stay on your side of the fence.
  35. Sold a GE for $300 on CL. Not really trying to sell these yet but someone asked for it and I can't resist an easy cash deal.
  36. There are no flippers here. They are the lowest of the low. None here. Not one. Nada.
  37. When people jump all over people - offended by words which clearly had nothing to do with the group that was never even being attacked.
  38. Newest addition to our window!
  39. Race? Have you seen my profile pic? There is no way that old geezer is winning a race of any sort!
  40. I found 3 Benny's Spaceships for 50% off at Target. This store is the only one in the area that didn't clearance them during the spring for some reason.
  41. Whatever does happen with getting a new DS which one is coming in 2016, This should not stop you from getting the 10188, Mark my word there will be chaos when this one is retiring which should be in 6 months or so, all its been out for 7 years and I didn't get any or maybe a few, like alot of guys on here say its a dud, to many people have them, etc. Just like some said it would take 3 years for the SSD to reach $700 and for other Exclusives to go up in price and missed a few good great money makers, Do you think I would have 56 of them if I thought it would not be a huge money maker, I have had 95% of all Exclusives and they all done great to huge money makers. So don't miss out on this set, It will be another set that you regret day after day like alot of you do for not loading up on the SSD,HH,TH,GE,AA, etc. Ed
  42. Finished up The Tumbler tonight. Book 4 Book 5 - Complete This thing is a beast. My son thinks it's a big toy, but it weighs a ton and I'm going to have to get it in a case soon.
  43. Finally built the sticker-EEE wasn't as bad as I thought it would be though. Looks great as a display piece.
  44. i was informed by the detective in charge of the case that the perp got arrested today.
  45. After you contact the local authorities, post that picture on Facebook. You will know who the thief is in no time.
  46. Selling on ebay is not as easy as it looks , as you have to find lego that is both rare and popular. Something can be rare at one moment , and the market flooded the next, due to retailers getting more stock in, and then the sets that you were selling everyday, you can no longer sell (for any profit) till there is a nationwide or worldwide shortage again, or EOL. When you have those rare popular items it is awesome. But there is huge financial risk. At least with lego it holds it's value , and can increase once eol. I have been selling on ebay for about 7 years (other things as well as lego) , and it is a lot harder than it used to be. Fees keep going up. It is worth checking what you actually pay, often more than you think, once you include listing fees , store fees and paypal fees, postage fees. The competition is getting more dishonest (due to ebay opening up more to China and Japan). Fake products are rampant. You have to compete against dropshippers. And it is harder to purchase anything from overseas due to the weak Australian dollar. Ebay get money from advertisements that they put on your listing , which advertise the same product as the one you are trying to sell , and paid them a fee to list it. And that competitor is often cheaper. Ebay have special deals with all the big department stores , which often sell your product for 20% less than retail on ebay That is hard to compete with. i am amazed that it is hard to get a decent profit , even when you purchase something at half price. If you sell too much , even though your profit is tiny , you have to pay the gst. You have to put an enormous amount of time into research to stay ahead of competition, and keep reinventing yourself every 3 months, when what you have been selling suddenly becomes last gen. I know I sound very negative - but realistically , it is a lot of hard work for little gain. I enjoy doing it, but mostly do it to pay the bills. The ebay haters out there have no idea how hard we work to make rare products available to them.
