It says right in the listing that they aren't genuine LEGO so who cares if it includes 8, 21 or 500?!3 points

in for a couple hundred last night, separate orders, listed as In stock on order status, so may have beat the horde for the skeptics, read my polybag selling thread from Xmas. I sold 200-300 xmas tree polybags, and good war stories/learning if you have never sold polybags its a dinosaur for $4, there will always be meat on the bone for a $4 lego dino3 points

Not really the best thread to discuss it (sorry to interject guys, I know I`m long winded sometimes ), but honestly I really think most anything StarWars will gain some kind of growth in interest (little to a lot depending on what it is). I really think most anything, with some exceptions, is fair game for investment at the right price. Iconic sets from the previous trilogies that have a lot of recognition should do very well. Sets like R2-D2 last year will be a big hit come Xmas (he already is, but you get my point. If you`ve got these, hang onto them). People have got to decide for themselves what they will invest their money in, but my opinion would be investing in anything from the original trilogy (4-6) and the new upcoming sets for Episode 7 would be an ideal place to start. Also, consider, Episode 7 will introduce Starwars to a whole new generation of kids, as well as reignite the fanbase of the parents and those who grew up with StarWars and who want to share that interest with their kids. We`ve never seen the StarWars universe presented the way it will be for the next several years (the advances in CGI for example, as well as having 3 films together, combined with 3 more spin-off films). It`s arguably the most recognized franchise of all time, with only a couple of others that you could put alongside. That kind of exposure creates a hugely diverse market to appeal to, people who connect with different aspects of the films as well (different sets and products). What I`m getting at is, you really aren`t going to go wrong with 90% of Lego StarWars sets or other merchandise at the right price, and if you know how to sell it to respective buyers. There`s tons of money to be made, if it`s got the StarWars logo on it and has a part of the upcoming films (specifically Episode 7) or previous trilogies (4-6), someone will want to buy it. I love that ravenb99 bought that entire box of Magnet sets, those are fantastic items. They aren`t big UCS sets, but the gold here is in a higher ROI per item. Little things like that if bought at the right price will do very well later this year. Just look around, evaluate the items/sets/price-point, pick something(s), and go with it. Should do just fine.3 points

This is a funny thread. A buddy of mine recently moved. As he was cleaning out his attic he came across his childhood lego collection. He knew I collected lego and offered a trade: I help move for a few hours for his collection. I still have yet to get through it all but there is a number of classic space, town and lego land from the late 70's to the mid 80's. I even found some of those red windows and grey wheels from the 60's in there.2 points

I didn't think about how I'd be releasing the horde when I posted last night. Luckily I had already placed my orders. One store pick up was cancelled completely. Another was reduced to 2 from an order of 10. And my order of 25 to be shipped says items located in stock, so hopefully they'll be coming. Unless TRU does like Lego and its LIFO. I'll be heading out to pick up my 2 just in case...2 points

Chances are it's for 21 .. but those are not real LEGO. They are genuine fake, knockoff, crap.2 points

glad to see some positive attitude back. Almost like finding Beauty in Negative Spaces.2 points

Hope you can turn all that into a profit. I personally stay way clear of City and common Creator sets unless they are 90% off errors on ebay!2 points

thanks guys glad to be back! Put Star Wars and a Jurassic Park (World) exclusive poly together and I get goosebumps! I just bought two brand new absolutely completely mint ucs vader tie by the way. There are only 3 listings left on eBay at the moment that are brand new sealed and if it does not get replaced soon these will take off. If they do get replaced l can crack one open build and display the other.2 points

I'd say a day of building. 2 days of shooting and 1.5 days of editing. It's hard to actually calculate the amount of time because I'm doing a number of things throughout each stage.2 points

It's like the extinction event 65 million years ago all over again...all hail king Trek!2 points

I have word from a friend that this guy I know bought 900 of these. sounds like he is trying to do an Extinction Level Event on these. Can you imagine the type of person who buys 900 of these ? Wish I had those kind of resources his moves leave me in awe. If I could do that with all the star wars stuff I am stockpiling I would be in sweet bliss.2 points

For anyone using gift cards with a purchase that gets cancelled, make sure you verify that the balance gets loaded back on the card. I don't know if Toys R Us is still having these issues, but its happened in the past. All I could get from them was a rewards certificate for the amount after many calls and emails.1 point
-
We'll see, but, unless they release another batch of these and they become widely available, I think that these will be steady profit-makers largely because they would have only been available as a promo for one week and for purchase for one day. There may a lot out there, but I think that you are underestimating the market for a set that was only available for such a short period of time.1 point

3rd party seller on AMZ germany is 44 Euro, I got mine for 16 Euro, so not that bad at all...I will look if it passes the 50€ mark easily, if not I try to sell them for 50€ :-)1 point

I think he used a 25/20, 20/15, and $15 off $100 in the same transaction. All used only once per transaction.1 point

Yes, people need to really start looking at anything Starwars asap, if you haven`t already. Everything, and I mean everything will experience a boost in demand. I fully expect empty shelves (closer to XMas) and high secondary market prices beginning in the fall and continuing into 2016. You all should as well, if you thought Jurassic World or the Avengers made a lot of money (they did) wait till you see what Episode 7 does at the box office...1 point

So I was at one of my local WM in hopes to find some 75920 - Raptors Escape and ran into this and walked out with $2000 worth of damage in load 1. Heading back for round 2 to get the classic1 point

Give it time, and you will not worry about the polite part of this question anymore. FWIW, when convenient I try to buy gift cards from Raise in amounts very close to (but not more than) what a large set I want is going to cost me after coupons and discounts - then I have an easy leg to stand on for paying very little with my credit card (<$10 usually) if challenged. Hasn't happened yet, though I'm surprised after some of last year's bricktober nightmares. This just cracked me up because it describes regular TRU to a T! Finally, I have been scooping up some of the last Pirate Ship Ambush (LotR) in my area after stocking a good number of Lonely Mountain lately. This set hasn't performed well so far, but is back up to $100 retail on eBay, and can be had for $60-75 depending how TRUTHful you want to get. I only got 1 cheap last year and would like a few more as I think it has BP / QAR (belated) potential.1 point

Even though I have done this on several occasions before, my local TRU (Mass) gave me a hard time last week requesting 10% discount with CC partial pay of $1.00 + coupons, GCs, etc. The cashier said she could get in trouble for doing it and called her mgr. over, after debating with the mgr. for about 5 minutes, she finally said yes (begrudgingly), I wonder if they will eventually close this loophole at some point ? Personally, I think it's silly and very short-sided for TRU staff to give loyal, HIGH paying customers like myself a hard time about this in efforts of potentially saving 10% off of one transaction vs. alienating someone who drops thousands of dollars at this establishment, honestly, if it wasn't for being able to stack coupons with discount GCs, CC discount etc., I probably would never step foot in a TRU store as there many other places for me to get LEGO deals.....okay rant over, sorry !!!1 point

You wouldn't want one of your buyers to return a damaged item from somewhere else, back to you. Don't penalize Target for something that they didn't do...take it up with the eBay seller.1 point

The only real disappointment are the stickers in places like the circle tile on the steering wheel that should have been printed otherwise for LEGO in all its blocky glory this is rad. Only thing left to do now is pop some groovy 80s sounds into that cassette player.1 point

Not hardly. I don't know why I am responding to this, perhaps to help the six people that don't already know, this show has two things PoP didn't: Fans and Quality. I got a little worn out on it 2-3 years ago but that doesn't mean it is not any good. In fact, I would say BBT, the Marvel movies, and Lego are the three driving forces in America making geekery cool these days. You can borrow some from Lord Business and make it right!1 point
