X-Men vs Sentinel that someone tried to hide at some Walmart... Not the best looking box, but for $7 who cares5 points

A worthless pile of plastic? It's a Star Wars Millennium Falcon, not a Walmart discount Ninjago set. It will be just fine.5 points

why would my conscience be bothered? i put the product out there at a market price, provide best possible customer service and on top of that get dinged 15%+shipping for every item. if someone doesnt like the price im not twisting anyone's arm to buy it. not one of my customers ever contacted me because they were "tricked" and left me a review stating they got ripped off. amazon = reputable dept store, ebay = flee market full of thieves. there is your price difference.4 points

I recently inquired about why my country flag wasn't showing up under my user ID on posts. To solve this Jeff suggested that I log out of the forum and log back in again. This solved my issue and I'd suggest it to all members so we can keep track (visually) as to what is happening where with sales, findings, etc etc.3 points

I noticed the cool LOTR keychain selection. I was tempted to pick-up some, but I passed. Let's just call it the "when I snuck away to use the restroom, the wife didn't realize I visited the clearance store as well". I didn't have the gumption to visit there again to pick-up a few, with a big dark cloud looming and it was close to closing time.3 points

I would use clear RTV Silicon II. It will hold the pieces quite well, but you will be able to peel it off in the future.3 points

Yeah, thank you everyone that has bought from me. Everything went very fast. If there is anything left that you are interested in, please let me know and we can work something out.2 points

One thing i'll say about Mines of Moria and Attack on Weathertop. They're GREAT sets for Game of Thrones custom figures. Be sure to pick up an attack of the wargs for Direwolves too That being said, I have faith in these sets, but maybe not by Christmas. They need to REALLY flush their way out of all retail markets (like the one you've found) before they creep up. Once they're REALLY gone, i see them doubling from the levels we're out now. Who knows how long that will take though?2 points

I really wish we'd see more reports on here, especially for folks who know they won't return to their visited locales anytime soon. There's nothing wrong with providing availability reports.2 points

I sold one to a grandma (well, convinced her to buy one at Target today). She was in the LEGO aisle with her grandsons, and one of them kept going on about how it was "rare". I just said "It is a Target exclusive," and we started a five minute conversation about the value of LEGO. She wouldn't let go of the set, saying, "I wonder if they'll even restock it." I think someone just found a new retirement job.2 points

Okay, my personal opinion. The problem is that the AB franchise is pretty much having its least breaths. 3 years ago this would have been a hit. However Rovio revenues are plummeting and it has about zero media presence right now. AB is just so last year. If the movie can gather interest AND is good, then these might do well. Otherwise Lone Ranger.2 points

No. Basically you are paying the ebay rate after fees (not counting shipping and fees) and many of these sets are not going to realize significant growth. 33,500*(1-.129)=$29,178 Edit to clarify - yes, many sets will achieve growth but some are so new that you could buy them from other sources and receive discounts or rebates, etc.1 point

Kmart should do the right thing and just close down. Stop fleecing the shareholders $. Sears tried to add some life into them, but that's like the blind leading the blind.1 point

Canonikon is a concatenation of two of the most famous camera brands ever. Considering the world has 7 billion people I can see someone else having that name online. Much stranger coincidences happen every day in the world.1 point

I finally found some Jurassic World polybags. Grabbed a handful and will either flip or start my dinosaur army haha.1 point

Advertising, cards, etc in packages actually have a negative effect from my perspective, unless it is something representing a site or seller that the package was from. The intent is good, but spam can tend to irritate people. the best way to drive me to a site is by search engine placement. if I am impartial to who I buy a 7965 from and Amazon pops up first, then that's likely where I will purchase from.1 point

You could have the same argument with Bricklink vs Ebay. People shop on site that they are comfortable with and know about. People are willing to pay more for peace of mind even if they know there are cheaper alternative. For a fact, some lego on Bricklink is much cheaper than ebay and amazon but I doubt most ordinary folks will actually purchase from bricklink even if they knew about it.1 point

I've heard before the Downtown Disney store will ship for free, but I've never tried it myself.1 point

So you did get two Arkhams? Nice find... I don't need the lost ark, I'll settle for a Town Hall or two. Or... I wouldn't mind if TRU found a few more R2s. I've only got one left again!1 point

Thanks. It's pretty much the 2015 Polybag Setlist from Brickset, with some additions to the list based on feedback here. I know my local TRU seems to have an endless supply of pumpkins. I'm fairly certain I saw it there on my last visit. I'll be back on Thursday for TRUTH....I'll double check at that point.1 point

Honestly, I'm not expecting much...sort of like the minecraft sets being "cool" because it's a hot toy...but really the sets themselves aren't anything special...1 point

Europeans (like me) can skip it right away. No need to stock up any for "if it takes off" - in Europe it simply won't. And even for the US it's hard to imagine. Imo this has written a big "100% play set" investor's warning all over it, so don't be too surprised if it turns out to be a ROI disappointment in a few years. As long as it's not a UCS Death Star I would avoid play set-style things like this here Jokerland almost any time. Diversification is a good thing, of course. But that does not mean diversifying into ANY set you come across. I'd rather diversify into Jurassic World Indominus Rex instead for about the same money.1 point

guys, another rule for investors .... dont let your your personal feelings of a set shadow its investment potential. dont need to buy 40 of these ... add 5 to your stock to diversify it ... if it tanks, youve got only 5 to deal with ... if it flys, then youll wish you had more ...1 point

This is still a great set for the long haul. I think growth will pick up a bit once the license is done and gone frankly. Just look at the craziness with Harry Potter prices now that it is gone. I think Potter is broader appeal and more popular, but still think LOTR/Hobbit will pick up once they are completely gone (if that happens as previously discussed)1 point

That's truly an impossible question to answer, since the TOO, Red5, and LM all have potential to go up in value. If your buy in is good with the Lonely Mountain you then you may want to take the risk. The ToO, and Red5 seem very horded at the moment, while the Lonely Mountain doesn't seem to get near the attention since it's not "exclusive". But, it's a real crap shoot. I'm still a believer in this set.1 point
