thanks for all your help. i got quite a few replies from my neighbors at nextdoor.com and apparently someone knows who this guy is, gave me his name, and will be sending me his pictures to compare and confirm. will take all of this to the police so they have a slam dunk case should they choose to actually do their job.

We caught vandals on video wrecking our Christmas light display and breaking into the make a wish donation box (empty at the time). The cops came out for the report. Sent a message to one of the local news stations. At 5pm, all of the major network news stations were reporting live with their vans parked on the street. The video was everywhere now. A couple of weeks later, the young girls who were caught on video went to work and their coworker friends let them know about the coverage. They saw the news videos and turned themselves in to the police. The monetary damage wasn't great so the cops told me on the phone after talking to the girls that likely charges would not be filed but the girls didn't need to know this if he wanted to drive them over to my house and try to scare them straight with a restitution plea. So they brought them over and they each made a donation to make a wish and I got the officer to chuckle when I told the girls, "Since you clearly have experience in taking down the display, you can help me take it down this weekend." They did and they turned out to be decent young adults who just got way too drunk and lost proper judgement. I ended up hiring one to help put some display pieces together the following year. And one of the news stations ended up doing a follow up. So, never underestimate the power of the news stations in solving these cases. We have had package thieves as well in our area and one home owner caught them on video and the local stations ran it for a week. Having the media cover it also puts pressure on the local police to solve it. The day after our vandals were on the news, I heard a radio commercial for crime stoppers describing our case! And I wouldn't worry about retaliation. Afterall, they will know you have their picture and they would be suspect #1 if something should happen. They will want to stay off the radar and hope things pass and none of their friends rat them out.

So I was the Discovery Center in Tokyo today and I found the following! And their TRU have a lot of these tall towers... but they are no where North American pricing Bought 5x SOH, 5x Rockfeller Center, 10x each Harry Potter keychains Also have anyone see these in stores in North America yet? These looks really cool and I think they will do really well!

Anyone who bought these on sale from WalMart.com lately should weigh their boxes. I bought five. Four were two pounds, four ounces, which I believe to be the correct weight. One was two pounds even, with clouded seals but otherwise no signs of tampering. The crooks are improving their skills. This set is a prime candidate for the 'take out all the figures and dewback, then reseal and return' scam, so be careful out there...

What you should do is workout a bromance with you UPS man to get something like this: It's fool proof and people won't even know that it is there. All sarcasm aside, I think what has already been said has been the most helpful. Contact the Police. Think of the robber, probably expecting something really expensive, opens it and finds Lego Bricks.

Decorating the tree so much better

For those in the Technic community I know there has been some interest in trying to speed up Sheepo's Mustang. It is a great model.... but a little faster would be nice. I know there has been at least one member trying to add a pneumatic engine to the beast..... something that I also would like to try. Anyways, here is my version of Sheepo's Mustang..... with an RC Titan motor. ​Honestly, it was like crack for me. I'm not fond of navigating the site using my iOS Safari browser. But man, when I had the app, I was on that thing all day long. It was just so easy. I know it's coming...

Well as I posted a few days ago I submitted the iOS version. It looks just like the old one. No real feature differences right now they are just trying to get it stable. So far so good

Queen Anne's Revenge Really enjoyed the build. Couldn't believe how big it was. The family loved it.

​Cool story and very kind of you to try accommodating her request. My 5yr old son was diagnosed with ASD (autism spectrum disorder) when he was 3...for him, building up his hand strength and fine motor skills was an area besides many that needed improvement - Lego was perfect. Building is fun, he can use his imagination free building and good workout for little fingers! He's hands has gotten a lot stronger with all the modulars we've been building together recently

I'm signed into the US LEGO Shop at Home website but my VIP info and points are not coming up. Is anyone else having the same issue? I'm kind of freaking out at the moment hoping that I haven't been hit with the banhmmer.

​My daughter, age 8, picked one out to build a few months back. The store selection was pretty sparse so that may have been a factor. It took her a few days to finally open and build it. I don't recall seeing her playing it or showing it off to family and friends. I would classify the experience as "meh".

You know this set actually not selling out at Amazon? Wouldn't you call that a great thing if you were tired of the hoard devouring everything? Maybe the hoard lost its effect on this set and every day people are still able to buy it at a discount. Maybe being in stock for months after retirement will be a good thing The hoard lost on this set should some people who do not like the effect of the hoard not rejoice? Of course I am not saying this is my opinion I am saying this is one view point. LOL

a bit late to the game, but involving the police is the way to go. They will start a crime report. Since you have excellent pics of the perp he will more than likely become apprehended. I had my front door kicked in last year and fortunately I have an alarm system and the door sensor was triggered after one of the kicks. By the time the idiot got in the alarm was going off. He didn't get very far. So my course of events would be to: Report it to the policeSet an explosive trap. (think deer urine, poop or even building materials)Leave a box with a note on it that says, "Look to your right and smile mother F*CK*R" "I'm in the bushes behind you!"

​Pseudoty and I did a trade back in March. It came with everything (including instructions and box) but the Angelica minifig, one or two little parts, and the stickers. The sails had never been put on. It's been calling my name for awhile now, and I couldn't resist any longer. So I put it together over two days. Loved it. My plan is to flip it once I fish a BP out that I have sitting in a bulk lot that I got last year. I would like to sell them as a pair. ​Yeah, not happening. LOL. Although I did order the stickers, and they may have even gotten here before the QAR got here. I can't remember, but I remember getting them as soon as the deal was done with you. Thanks again for the trade, I'm glad it happened. The biggest problem I had with building this was when I was done. My 3 year old son was fascinated by it. It's going to be tough to sell it, because he really enjoyed it. I guess someday I'll either do the deed, or I will sell it off and reinvest. I've pretty much convinced myself I need to pick up the new Pirate Ship for him, though. He'll love that thing too.

Just came across on youtube. Has anyone tried to make this and build something entirely with gummy candy? The transparent blocks looks awesome.

Most thieves are are well aware of the value of Lego. One of my friends used to live in kennesaw, when they passed the "thou shalt own a fire arm law" he was rather annoyed as he really doesn't like guns, so he built a potato cannon. It was freakin' sweet, would launch a potato 100 yards.

​perhaps he can build upon his mistake. funny because he got two boxes. opens one, 2 identical lego sets and he's disappointed, opens the second hoping for something expensive and 3 more of the same exact thing.

​i just googled a parole/probation office and there is one within a mile. gonna have to swing by and drop off a few pictures at their main desk.

After all this talk about a new Death Star for 2016 I did some research and finally have been able to find some pictures of the new design! The new design is pretty awesome, even though for some people it might be too colorful. The general design isn't that different from the current DS but you'll find some improvements. My verdict: Great new DS design! I also like the new colors! I'm not a big fan of all of the minifigures, but there are plenty so that's nice I guess! I guess with all these minifigures the price point might be at least 500$ I'm not sure if I would recommend holding on to the old one or not... If you have a dog or cat save the droppings and put them in a box and leave that on your porch. Spring loaded or self detonating are good options.

​I like to reuse the bags to pack sandwiches for the work week. I just put the stickers on my toolbox in the garage. Everything should go in and on the toolbox.

Finally splurged on a 7783 Batcave: The Penguin and Mr. Freeze's Invasion. This was on my wanted list for way too long. Box is in great condition.

This particular dewback has an unfortunate character trait. I can see why he's for sale.
