I drive by this house every day. Reminds me of HH. https://www.google.com/maps/@38.894112,-90.183779,3a,75y,277.99h,88.64t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sbVEyL3rAGMmMgpXkuSv2Ig!2e05 points

Seriously? You already know this is a deal. This is precisely the kind of find that you just jump on. Any delay, and you'll lose the opportunity.3 points

I have been big on this set since it was released. It's so unique I don't see how it can't do well long term, especially at a $25 buy in. If I am wrong then I want someone to flatten me with a steam roller, Austin Powers style.3 points

They go hand in hand. Any person who has built any sort of city scape will always want one of these. The first being out of reach for most will drive demand for the mixer. And everyone knows there is always an Ecto 1 parked at the fairgrounds, so having either one of these sets drives demand for Slimer and company. It;s really just simple math mixeled with fresh cotton candy. How many times have you seen a SSD parked out front at the fair? Exactly....3 points

I think we should have a site wager. Dollar for dollar....My SSD vs whatever you can buy with the money from a sold SSD based on the Brickpicker price guide. I'll send the winner some sort of GC. If I win, nobody gets a thing. Let me think on it.3 points

When you call eBay customer service, complain (constructively) about the automatic defect registering when a buyer chooses "I haven't received my item" to send you a message about shipping delays or just plain impatience. The handful of reps I have discussed it with agree to varying degrees that it doesn't make sense, and always promise to forward it up the chain. This has been in place waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long already. Let's pile on the pressure... it is just ridiculous. How hard is it to just have two choices: "I have a question or problem I want to try to work out with the seller" and "I need to resolve a problem the seller has already failed to help me with"2 points

No honey. The dress doesn't make your ass look fat. It was already fat to begin with. Actually the dress couldn't possibly make your ass look any fatter.2 points

Complaint. I was blissfully unaware of what this dress was until a mod brought it up on BP2 points

Idiots in cars. You know, when you are zipping along 70mph in 3500 pounds of steel, glass, plastic and gasoline, how about PAYING A-F-ING-TTENTION! And please someone please explain to me the morons that see a car parked on the side of the road and feel the need to swerve over into the oncoming lanes to avoid it. There is enough room for you to stay in your lane and get around the parked car. The roads were designed for such stupid. And what kind of logic is it that would risk a head on collision to avoid a mirror sideswipe? Or turning. You know, if only there was some way for drivers to signal or indicate to each other which way they are about to turn, it would surely make things more simple Or how everyone now thinks they are driving a bus or 18 wheeler and feel the need to swerve all the way into the oncoming lane to make a right turn. Dude, you Honda civic does not require wide turns, what the hell is wrong with you? You just went into the oncoming lane, ON A BLIND HILL, to make a freaking right turn. Did you notice that car that flew over the hill from the other direction as soon as you turned? Probably not, because you are an idiot with your head up your own rear, but you were just a second away from death or worse. And the poor family in the other car... Nothing makes me hate humanity more than driving around all these idiots.2 points

I'm actually super excited about this set. I just seriously don't understand people's negativity towards it. It's freaking deja vu like the Helicarrier. People did so much bitching and complaining about it, but look at it, it's selling like hot cakes. I've seen people complain about the build and that it looks boring. What would you exactly expect with 2 panels attached to a ball? It's like the TB. It's a simple build with 2 identical towers. But the finished product is absolutely amazing. It's also funny with people talking about the size. If they made it a $100 set with half the pieces, I wouldn't be surprised to see the same people complain that it was too small and for a UCS set, Lego would need to make it bigger. Luckily, it's just a very vocal minority that make it apparent online. This will be a day one purchase for me. I love everything Star Wars, and it'll be nice to have a Tie Fighter sitting next to the X-Wing on display along with all my other UCS sets. /2centcomment2 points

And too repetitive. The idea is intriguing in theory I suppose but the Great Wall of China is simply that; a big wall. That sort of build sounds interesting as watching wallpaper dry. Honestly the Egyptian Pyramids, Mayan Temples, or Incan city of Machu Picchu would make for a more diverse building experience. Besides if I'm going to build a wall, it will be Pink Floyd's.2 points

Ghostbusters...buy 14 with $700 SSD funds. $1400 by this time next yr. Since it is done for sure it it will dry up quicker than ToO and rise quicker me thinks. Sent from my XT1080 using Brickpicker mobile app2 points

I had something funny/odd happen today. I had 3 separate big sales on Amazon all within 30 minutes of each other between 1:00 and 1:30pm EST, to different people/states. I normally sell about 1 set of this size every week or 2. SSD $790 Grand Emporium $292 R2-D2 $350 Weird!2 points

Long time lurker, but I would be able to help here! I've got a large photography setup, full length infinity white background and studio lights/diffusers... have worked for a professional studio in the past. Depends on the timeline, really, as I have a busy few weeks coming up in March. I do have a LOT of the sets you are wanting (not so much star wars, but modulars, architecture, maersk train, cuusoo (minus the sub), all the winter sets, etc.Not a ton are built, but I can do boxes no problem!2 points

well, I gotta admit, I really had fun building 9493. Im not usually a builder but every build I do Im just fascinated at the engineering of these sets ... truly amazing work! 2 hours and 15 minutes for me on this build ... I want more!!!2 points

Now I wonder what The Big Lebowski would have been like with Nimoy considering how very "Dude" he was in that music video. Haha. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!I don't know but maybe if you stop yelling I can find out! :rofl:1 point

I am not from the US. But if I would see so many steamrollers on clearance (more than I can transport in my car) I would start to worry and avoid the set. Here in my area it became very rare. So maybe you guys in the US that picked up alot of these should sell them internationally. But please wait till I have sold mine.1 point

Ziplocs. I flatten my boxes so I don't put the set back in them, but I have totes that are just Lego sets to keep them protected.1 point

I really don't know what they want anymore. From there actions they want big corporations like Amazon now and not the individual business owners. Those companies are obviously exempt from scores as if you compare my numbers to the big companies I crush them in every aspect yet I barely hit TRS some months. They would definitely not be hitting it. Some of the things they have done are good and eliminating a lot of sellers has helped raise prices to be competitive with Amazon so I do like that. Just a score system that they marketed as easier to hit which was complete BS from the get go if you were smart and realized how many more scores they were computing against you is my issue. The only reason they did it was to get rid of more TRS discounts. 2k a month in saved fees by however many sellers like myself there are adds up a lot and takes away profitability. I don't think they want quantity from regular users and business owners but more from corporations hence all the harder limits on smaller sellers etc. The corporations don't want the competition from the individuals either. They have to keep them happy more than the regular users that made it what it was from day 1.1 point

Maybe not, but if I can't buy it anywhere for the next year it might as well be gone. Already hit LEGO Shop at Home limit long ago and the herd gobbles them up in nanoseconds as soon as they become available.1 point

Technically it is not a straight wall. For the most part it is curvy and goes up and down the hill, with guard posts sprinkled here and there. So there is a challenge in representing something like this in LEGO: For the record, I also want the Colossus of Rhodes or the Hanging Gardens of Babylon1 point

The time frame would be one year. That was my point in this whole conversation...What can outperform the SSD over the next 12 months? Also, you would have one week to figure it out. Discounts would not be allowed. Current MSRP or Brickpicker price for retired sets. I would need to have Jeff record the data people are using. No VIP points or other BS. Tax will not count either way. We will have to figure out a shipping solution. SSD price is based on BrickPicker number. I don't care if you sold one for $900.00. I can see some of you are already trying to manipulate this to make it work, but it ain't happening. No voodoo magic and wheeling and dealing. We also have to figure out what the commission fee would be.1 point

I'm in. I actually sold a SSD for $700 recently and bought 4 damaged box ToO right after it. $800 but with 2000 VIP points so $700 in essence. so in 1 year I do think 4 ToO would be worth more than 1 SSD. BP vs BP would only be 1 vs 3 though ($686 for 1 SSD, and 232x3 = $696 ToO) even though you can buy ToO still at retail. Just give me 3.5 ToO ($700) vs 1 SSD ($700) 1 Year from Today 2/26/2016 whatever the BP value of 1 SSD vs 3.5 ToO wins I win and you have to sell a set LOL. You win and I'll give you a Joker Steamroller seeing its the theme of the day!1 point

I just passed by two Walmarts in Montreal: Place Versailles and near Galerie d'Anjou. There was absolutely nothing of interest. Some sets that Gravtation found at 50% were still at full price, like a batch of Mos Eisley Cantinas. There was a single Ninjago City with a puny discount for 110 CAD.1 point

And it has to run for 12 months. episode 7 release date is Dec 15. You don't want to use December prices for comparison.1 point

I agree with this, but based on a comparison between Red 5 and Slave I. I gradually built the Slave I over several weekends and then built the Red 5 last weekend. The build for the Slave I was enjoyable and rather complex in the way the ship is designed. The Red 5 build was pretty simple and just seemed like a larger version of the build for 9493 X-wing, which, of course, it is. But, for $200 the Slave I is the way to go if having to choose between the two. Both models are still very impressive when built. The Red 5 dwarfs the size of the 9493, but I don't think people realize that until one can see it in person. It will be interesting to see how the upcoming UCS TIE fighter is received at the $200 price point because I see a lot of similarities in UCS Red 5 and TIE compared to their 9492 and 9493 versions.1 point

lol I know it's badly frowned upon but yeah when Lego started banning people in America last year I created 8 new accounts with different names/bank details in prep for the inevitable ban hammer over here in Europe and I spread the purchases across the accounts. Also you can buy the set again 24 hours later when buying through shop@home. I may now be busted but it's all gravy.1 point

It doesn't sound like TLG made "too many" of these as many have said above. It sounds like they came pretty close to meeting demand. Limit of one at full retail on LEGO Shop at Home indicates they are not going to have trouble moving the last of these. TLG did everything right with this set, in my book. I hope to see retirement announcements like this become a trend. Sent from my XT1028 using Brickpicker mobile app1 point
