I drive by this house every day. Reminds me of HH. https://www.google.com/maps/@38.894112,-90.183779,3a,75y,277.99h,88.64t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sbVEyL3rAGMmMgpXkuSv2Ig!2e05 points

Seriously? You already know this is a deal. This is precisely the kind of find that you just jump on. Any delay, and you'll lose the opportunity.3 points

I have been big on this set since it was released. It's so unique I don't see how it can't do well long term, especially at a $25 buy in. If I am wrong then I want someone to flatten me with a steam roller, Austin Powers style.3 points

They go hand in hand. Any person who has built any sort of city scape will always want one of these. The first being out of reach for most will drive demand for the mixer. And everyone knows there is always an Ecto 1 parked at the fairgrounds, so having either one of these sets drives demand for Slimer and company. It;s really just simple math mixeled with fresh cotton candy. How many times have you seen a SSD parked out front at the fair? Exactly....3 points

I think we should have a site wager. Dollar for dollar....My SSD vs whatever you can buy with the money from a sold SSD based on the Brickpicker price guide. I'll send the winner some sort of GC. If I win, nobody gets a thing. Let me think on it.3 points

When you call eBay customer service, complain (constructively) about the automatic defect registering when a buyer chooses "I haven't received my item" to send you a message about shipping delays or just plain impatience. The handful of reps I have discussed it with agree to varying degrees that it doesn't make sense, and always promise to forward it up the chain. This has been in place waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long already. Let's pile on the pressure... it is just ridiculous. How hard is it to just have two choices: "I have a question or problem I want to try to work out with the seller" and "I need to resolve a problem the seller has already failed to help me with"2 points

No honey. The dress doesn't make your ass look fat. It was already fat to begin with. Actually the dress couldn't possibly make your ass look any fatter.2 points

Complaint. I was blissfully unaware of what this dress was until a mod brought it up on BP2 points

Idiots in cars. You know, when you are zipping along 70mph in 3500 pounds of steel, glass, plastic and gasoline, how about PAYING A-F-ING-TTENTION! And please someone please explain to me the morons that see a car parked on the side of the road and feel the need to swerve over into the oncoming lanes to avoid it. There is enough room for you to stay in your lane and get around the parked car. The roads were designed for such stupid. And what kind of logic is it that would risk a head on collision to avoid a mirror sideswipe? Or turning. You know, if only there was some way for drivers to signal or indicate to each other which way they are about to turn, it would surely make things more simple Or how everyone now thinks they are driving a bus or 18 wheeler and feel the need to swerve all the way into the oncoming lane to make a right turn. Dude, you Honda civic does not require wide turns, what the hell is wrong with you? You just went into the oncoming lane, ON A BLIND HILL, to make a freaking right turn. Did you notice that car that flew over the hill from the other direction as soon as you turned? Probably not, because you are an idiot with your head up your own rear, but you were just a second away from death or worse. And the poor family in the other car... Nothing makes me hate humanity more than driving around all these idiots.2 points

I'm actually super excited about this set. I just seriously don't understand people's negativity towards it. It's freaking deja vu like the Helicarrier. People did so much bitching and complaining about it, but look at it, it's selling like hot cakes. I've seen people complain about the build and that it looks boring. What would you exactly expect with 2 panels attached to a ball? It's like the TB. It's a simple build with 2 identical towers. But the finished product is absolutely amazing. It's also funny with people talking about the size. If they made it a $100 set with half the pieces, I wouldn't be surprised to see the same people complain that it was too small and for a UCS set, Lego would need to make it bigger. Luckily, it's just a very vocal minority that make it apparent online. This will be a day one purchase for me. I love everything Star Wars, and it'll be nice to have a Tie Fighter sitting next to the X-Wing on display along with all my other UCS sets. /2centcomment2 points

And too repetitive. The idea is intriguing in theory I suppose but the Great Wall of China is simply that; a big wall. That sort of build sounds interesting as watching wallpaper dry. Honestly the Egyptian Pyramids, Mayan Temples, or Incan city of Machu Picchu would make for a more diverse building experience. Besides if I'm going to build a wall, it will be Pink Floyd's.2 points

Long time lurker, but I would be able to help here! I've got a large photography setup, full length infinity white background and studio lights/diffusers... have worked for a professional studio in the past. Depends on the timeline, really, as I have a busy few weeks coming up in March. I do have a LOT of the sets you are wanting (not so much star wars, but modulars, architecture, maersk train, cuusoo (minus the sub), all the winter sets, etc.Not a ton are built, but I can do boxes no problem!2 points

Here is another one of those quirky accessories for the work desk I came across. Basically another pencil holder of course but the (unavailable) product page says "Pencil Pot" which I don't know why but sounds funny. In any case it looks like a small Creator home with a touch of classic Town. I guess the story is her roof caved in and the repair guy is trying to fix it. Cute.1 point

I have several sets that I have constructed and deconstructed because of lack of display space. Some I'll keep, some I'll sell when the time is right. My question to you BPers is: How do you store these sets? In original boxes? In other boxes? Ziploc bags? I also want to keep the original boxes and I'm not sure what to do with them.1 point

I'm not sure if Lego has officially announced it, but it was mentioned by more than one attendee at the London Toy Fair that after this summer's release of Chima sets that they would be no more. Until it happens of course, who knows... Xmas 2015 will be an excellent time to unload Chima if you can for a profit that you find acceptable. The thing is, kids will continue to be interested in Chima for a few years... I just met a guy locally who's son had just started watching Chima in the last few weeks. He'll be a prime candidate for buying Chima on the secondary market in about 6 months!1 point

Yep. It wasn't until I realized the level of abuse he as committing on my wife and kids that I woke up. I guess I felt like I could take it. But once it was directed to them, it was over. Yeah, sorry about that.1 point

Whoa...almost the same story here. I'm 41 and wouldn't shed a tear if he died. Maybe a tear of joy. I know that may sound bad to a lot of you here, but my dad's actions and choices have screwed me and my family since I was young. To this day, he has yet to change.1 point

In a recent issue of the longtime running MAD Magazine, there are a couple pages with some panels of satirical humor on our equally long lasting favorite building block brand. They are rather silly in a relatable way. I suggest clicking on each image to enlarge seeing how squeezed these forum reply boxes tend to make them at regular viewing. Source: The Brick Fan1 point

Urgh our dropshipping mate Avanco is back in business: http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/avanco/m.html?item=111519351166&hash=item19f712417e&pt=AU_LEGO&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562 I do wonder if he really has 10+ Town Halls?1 point

Me too. I'm 42. I stopped speaking with him almost 4 years ago. Best decision I ever made. Honestly, if he were to die tomorrow, I'd at least know for sure that I will never have to deal with his crap again. And no, I won't be at the funeral.1 point

If anyone is interested to pick some of this set, it's about to come out with 20% off, plus the 10$ off 40$ from the "CineplexHoliday" code. That would be 46 CAD before taxes: http://www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=34246786 You can also see all sets with 20% off starting Friday 27th, from the Lego City and Duplo themes: http://www.toysrus.ca/search/viewall/index.jsp?keywords=legofeb27 (The sale is not yet live as I write this, but it probably will when you read this post) The Cargo Train 60052 is also interesting at 174 CAD before taxes. EDIT: The sale's topic is actually "Save up 40% on Building Sets", so it might be more than the customary 20% from the past weeks!1 point

This idea seems familiar http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/9539-400-to-spend-one-big-exclusive-or-lots-of-discount-sets/?view=findpost&p=259768 So an SSD sold today for 800 nets you around 700 after fees & shipping. With that 700 i'll take 14 Ecto-1s, or perhaps 7 Winter VIllage Markets or 7 FallingWaters, 3.5 Red 5's (if Lego ever ships them) or one of my FAVORITE picks right now. 35 Empire State Buildings. That might be the winner. FInal Answer 35 Empire State Buildings for the win. Super easy to ship and store. BIG % ROI winner, almost guaranteed retired, yet easily purchased at retail for a little bit longer. I can get 5 of them at a time at B&****** online right now. (add discounted gift cards and finding them in store with 10% off it's even more ridiculous.1 point

Would also like to see the minimum innings pitched per week set to something higher, like at least 28/30. This is to basically force people to actually have pitchers pitch. I've been in leagues where people would have a pitching staff of just a couple of aces and closers who pitch like 10 innings total and they then automatically win the quality stats (ERA, WHIP) and Saves for the week and are already half way to winning the week. Then they load the rest of the roster with batters and try to overpower the batting/counting stats giving up average for numbers. It's tough balancing between counting stats and quality stats.1 point
