  1. I at least use an old GPS. These are the waypoints for the KMarts in my area. What can I say? I'm hooked on phonics. Actually, I'm waiting for my kids to lose my AOL CD before going to the next level.

  3. You don't need this. You need 3 of them hanging from the ceiling blasting away at each other.

  7. I have not picked up a lot in a long while as my kids are not as eager to sort and such. But I could not pass this up: brickset list 31003 31005 31008 3178 3182 7279 7279 7239 3182 8052 70002 7743 9390 8083 7285 2194 8065 6912 3835 4642 8086 6187 4996 8084 8083 7915 6166 3179 5898 8896 7206 5970 5969 5981 5985 8211 5865 6742 6741 5765 5866 5891 4996 7213 3221 4645 3368 7639 7287 5891 9464 9463 4182 7741 7688 3365 2182 7610 7241 40012 7236 8057 7942

  10. There is no reason to change it. Going public is usually to raise money. Unless they are cash poor with expansion directives there would be no reason. The fact that they are private and have done so well is very telling. No public reporting, no activist investors, no shorting against the stock. There objective is their customers, not the stock holders and that is a good thing.

  11. Means I can sell my sets and buy a Ferrari.

  12. Over the last couple of days (since the Walmart success), I've picked up the following: eBay: Kai's Fire Mech 70500 - $6 Han Solo polybag - $7 Darkseid Invasion 76028 - $55 Craigslist: Star Wars T-16 Skyhopper 75081 Star Wars Rebels TIE Advanced Prototype 75082 Star Wars Rebels AT-DP 75083 Star Wars Rebels Ezra's Speeder Bike 75090 Jabba the Hutt, Max Rebo, and Princess Leia in Gold Bikini from the Sail Barge set - all four sets were used, but on display, only missing the fighter pilot (not the Inquisitor) from the TIE Advanced, all for $60 Imperial Star Destroyer 10030 - a ridiculously low price that I won't mention here. Much lower than value. I work for the Marine Corps, and bought it from a Marine (who never put it together) who had bought it from another Marine. We were both told "there are only 4 or 5 missing pieces). The tub is full and heavy. At the price I got it at, it's worth the risk to see if it's mostly there. The instruction manual is included. This is my new "project" and I will be spending many nights tearing it apart, inventorying it, and putting it together.

  15. I still print on a printer and adhere with shipping tape. I've been doing the same thing for 15 years.

  16. They're not journalists, let's be clear.

  17. None of these people did their homework. It would take 5 minutes on a tablet to find some good questions for this man. Squawk Box is about investing...right? They didn't ask one question about investing in LEGO or LEGO's profits or possibly going public. A fluff piece.

  18. Err, these interviewers were supposed to be journalist ? They came off as a bunch of clueless parents asking a manager of a LEGO store about the products. Where were the questions about future growth or plans or LEGO marketing strategy, .. anything ? Then I realized it was CNBC and the world made sense again

  20. Really? IMHO there's only one way to read the message below: "it's done". This set was overwhelmingly popular and is no longer available for purchase. Please check back for new LEGO

  21. I just owe ravenb99 big time... I bought 4 from Toys R Us at MSRP and then said this thing is a dog I am going to return and he told me to keep them and if they lost out he would buy them from me. What a pal. I originally bought some off someone on brick picker somewhere saying someone said it was retiring... Turns out whoever said that was right on. I sold 2 of the 4 but collected 6 more at clearance prices. Happy.

  23. Let's take bets on how quickly Lego's website will go down. I predict that if this goes live at 12:00am, their site will stall at 12:00:01.

  24. Does anyone see this set appreciating to $175+shipping in the future or is 150 shipped the max. I found a couple more over the last few days and happily bought them. Ex Astris, Scientia.

  26. Alot more end users already have GE in their collection. Most missed out on TH. Resellers stockpiled GE but most missed out on TH. TH is the centerpiece for the modulars collection and is a must have:

  27. Normally the people learn at first the common speech of a foreign language, like "How are you?" or "One beer please" or perhaps some bad abuses But the first german word that all Brickpickers know is "LIMITIERT"

  28. Thumbs up to Mr. Laursen for fielding loaded questions from ignorant interviewers. LEGO expensive? It's all relative to what you get. LEGO has value. CNBC interviews do not.

  29. Ed, Jeff, thanks for the site. One question is there a way to change the text color on the front page? having the yellow text on white background is a little hard to read for me. maybe because i'm getting older? Sorry if this came up before i didn't see it when i searched for it.

  30. I'd been promising my daughter we'd build some stuff so held true to my promise. Knocked out a few sets with her. She can be very convincing! Never seems to be enough time in the day.

  31. I don't think people realize how big a TIE fighter actually is. I play the X-Wing miniatures game, and the ships are scaled based on the actual production models. Based on this, I think the UCS TIE will be pretty much spot on in terms of size when displayed next to Red Five.

  32. scroll back a few pages and read my comment regarding this, I'm with you. As for the set I I'm not quite sure what you are expecting, I mean it's a tie fighter so what exactly would have you done better? Same question goes for the tie pilot......it's a tie pilot, they added arm printing so what else could they have done?

  33. Thanks but I was more thinking about the last 10 days, not the last 2 years. ^^ The purpose is for example not to miss some "important" posts like a leaked picture of a set.

  35. To get to 5x MSRP like Zombies did, this set needs to get to $250 by 2017. Not seeing it TBH, maybe $250 by 2018

  36. I wonder how many of those resold so far have actually been opened and built.

  37. Imagine how I felt when a seller opened a bin and the spiral bound instructions for the UCS star destroyer were sitting there.

  39. $75 on BOGO = 60+30=$90 - 20% off coupon = $72 / 2 = $36 cost per set ($38.52 with tax) Sell at $75 -6.75 fees - $7 avg shipping = $61.25 61.25-38.52= $22.73 profit per set Turning $38 into $60 while a set is still available to purchase below retail is not bad at all (60% profit) Save the $54 B&****** purchased ones for when they hit $100 plus

  41. There are a few parts that don't appear in any other sets in the same color... and 60064 is the newest set to have them. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=46103&in=S http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=32083&in=S And at least one oddball colored ones that appear in lots of sets, but never in light bluish grey: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=60603&in=S The supply plane looks to be based off the Fairchild C-119 which is a military plane, so maybe that plays into it? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairchild_C-119_Flying_Boxcar Whereas the sky crane was certainly used by the military but it was also a civilian helicopter. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sikorsky_S-64_Skycrane Sikorsky S-64 with skis. I'm going with a parts problem.

  43. I deleted the other post because I wanted all the Lego for myself. I created the legend of the "Ghost Post" to scare off would be investors, and I would have got away with it if it wasn't for those meddling kids.
